Bon app is a lifesaver in China! It's so easy to use and helpful in finding quality restaurants, meet-ups, spa's, venues. All in English which is great if you are not fluent in Chinese. Recommend for anyone living or visiting China to get around and meet people
Wow, this is really a bad app. The concept is good, and it looks pretty, but it tries to do too many things, and gets none of them right. And the simple fact their map of Beijing is at least 5 years out of date, so almost impossible to add new businesses, is unforgivable.
The maps are nice they are in English (I think it's the Gaode "Chinese name"/Amap "English name for Chinese app"/Autonavi "Driving portion of app"/Apple maps partner with Gaode - the English versioned which is otherwise unavailable to Android users). Like yelp and meetup mixed together. would be nice to have Alipay login. A partnership with Sherpas delivery would be nice. I used Sherpas in China. Can't register international number for food deliveries in this app, but I could use Sherpas.
Used to be my go to app. Now my phone is on android P and unable to even open the app without crashing. Tried reinstalling but too no avail. Very disappointed bonapp doesn't keep up.
Crashes all the time on Android 9 .....not fixed in latest updates. On iPhone 4/5 stars
If you live in Shanghai or Beijing perhaps it's gonna help you. I live in Shangqiu and it is useless. not even the map works.
this app is terrible, ive tried several times to load places that deliver and nothing comes up it just stalls
Crashes on android 9, I can't even launch the app.
Installed twice and couldn't search for anything or login.
More informative.
I have been living in China for half a decade now and I hace noticed how well it was received first by the expat community and later the local one. Unfortunately it has become so buggy that it makes it almost impossible to use it on my android phone. App freezes all the time before crashing and taking you back to the home screen. What a pity. This had great potential but I think they are trying to bring too many functions without proper QA. Fortunately the chinese app are catching and I have surprisingly been satisfied with them so I will slowly and slowly move away from bon app on both my iphone and my android device. Edit (08/21/2018): I had forgotten about this review and reinstalled it on a brand new OnePlus phone (crazy fast phone)... still buggy as hell. Get your s*** together ffs!!!
I love the app, but it won't let me add new restaurants for some reason.
FINALLY a way for expats and foreign visitors to access restaurant listings and reviews in China and Asia! Love the English addresses and maps. Really appreciate the reviews from locals. They've got a few minor bugs and there are some features that haven't deployed yet, but I enjoy the UI and am looking forward to improvements!
I have crashes and errors all the time, I cannot use app properly!
I really like this app but now not possible to add restaurant on my list
Far too many permissions for a simple review app. Obviously harvesting you. Tons of crashes in less used features. If you just browse restaurant data and write reviews it usually works.
This has the best data for restaurant info and reviews in English for Shanghai and Beijing. It is mostly up to date and I like the curated list of places!
Best way to eat around in Shanghai
Perfect for finding good and honest reviewed restaurants. I also use the map to get round in China, because this one works in English too!
everytime i open on galaxy note 5
The app itself seems fine, until you check your data or battery stats, it was taking upwards of 25% of my battery every day.
The app itself is ok, but I just discovered that it used up 8GB of data in the last 10 days! I haven't even used it in that period and my phone has been rebooted as well. Uninstall...
I upgraded yesterday and today the the app has used 16% of my battery's capacity after a day's use without me even opening the app. The app is also on occasions very slow, especially if using a VPN. The contents is otherwise ok, typical as what can be expected of this kind of app based on user input.
Will have to uninstall until you guys fixed it
I downloaded the new version of this app, and it then used 28gb of data in the background. What the heck? I'm not happy here.
A great App in order to know where to eat and what you'll see in your plate while in Shanghai! If you are a foodie, this is a must :-)
I use this app for just about everything in Shan. The features are great and it's integration with wechat is extremely helpful. It has really fostered a great community of eaters!
This would be a great app, but basic functionality is disabled. Can't add new restaurants. There are really only places listed in Shanghai and Beijing. Many people try to add restaurants in other cities and it's not allowed. Searching for other users doesn't work, so I can't add friends. Worst is that support ignores emails about these issues! What's your major malfunction? Just make your app work!
