Bond Bridge (outdated)

New Bond users are strongly encouraged to use the new Bond Home app, not this app. This app does not support Local API, SmartThings, Control4, and other local integrations.

This version of the Bond mobile app is designed to support our Bond Bridge product (BD-1000). If you are using one of our Smart by Bond products, please download the latest Bond Home app (version v2 and up) on the Play Store. We will be updating the new Bond Home app to support the Bond Bridge product and all users will be notified upon official release.

This app requires the Bond Bridge (BD-1000) in order to control appliances with remote controls. Bond can control appliances with RF based remote controls such as ceiling fans. Bond works with your Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

On the way to being a great app and device. I bought it to automate a shutter, but that functionality is not there yet. Customer service says its in the way and they'll let me know when it is available. Works with Google Home, but it's a little finicky and commands are limited (can turn fans on and off and change speeds but can't reverse, for example). The product is going to be great, but wasn't really ready for release yet. Hold off buying until the software is ready.

this product is a great idea, if only the app would actually work. i can't control anything via the app because it says bond can't be reached, so I'm forced to use voice controls only, when it works properly. it doesn't seem to keep track of what's off and on so an on command twice will turn the lights off and then on. really need to think about another product to fix my problem. not even mad just very disappointed.

A must have to add Alexa or Google Assistant voice control to any ceiling fan (with a remote control.) The app and Bond unit are easy to set up. I have added 3 brand new fans that worked perfectly with the default settings. But 2 older fans I had to remove buttons that were not applicable. Alexa and Google allow you set any fan speed 0% - 100%. Low Medium High work OK, but if have 6 or 9 fan speeds, using your voice for medium-high is hit or miss. The light is On/Off only except on the app.

The hub works just like they said it would. Real easy to setup and connect to your network. Syncing with Alexa was easy and works good. Adding ceiling fans was super easy until the new one. I've done four without issue. Followed directions, Bond found the fan, showed a set of numbers asking if this was the remote. Tested a couple buttons, done. This last one (Stile, #CF0110) has been a bit of a pain. Had to teach it all the buttons, Alexa gets confused, mostly the light gets out of sync

This device works perfectly. It is very easy to set up, Amazon Alexa integration is seamless, and function speed when using bond app is as quick as the actual remote. The only thing I've noticed is when using the actual remote, the app doesn't know the fan or light has been turned on/off and Bond gets confused. That may be a function of my particular fans though.

App Needs a lot of work. It enabled me to set up all of my ceiling fans and works over a fair distance, but doesn't enable you to schedule them to come on at certain times. Tried IFTT, but i wasn't able to choose a fan speed in the IFTT applet. A little disappointing. Also wasnt able to set up an Alexa skill to work either.

Works great, just as expected. No setup issues don't know why people have problems. Also there is a toggle in setting to keep track of light settings so... I guess people just don't pay attention. As long as it's centrally located and has good wifi access you should easily be able to control every fan and light in a normal size house, from the app or voice cortoll from alexa

The app itself, and its functionality, isn't worth the 4 stars I've given it. It's the customer service that gets it that high. I spent a great deal of time in contact with a representative of their tech support team, and not once did I feel talked down to, my ideas weren't dismissed, and they actually acted on suggestions I made, rather than just assuming I didn't know what I was talking about. Until they figure it out, if you get stuck on a step, wipe the app data, then login, and try again.

Setup was a pain. Due to issues with server and app (app probably lacking a needed update for new Android os) the device was unable to register on wifi. Had to use in app chat and get manually set up which probably would have been easier if they would have just included instructions for accessing devices configuration browser via ip address. Similar method of access as old school configuring your router on first setup. Once up, the app was still quirky but is finally work as it should.

Decent range, good features. Setup was easy, it recognized my remotes for the Hunter Windemere fans. Using SmartThings hub and Google Home for voice control works fairly well. My only complaints that it occasionally turns on the fan lights at night and sometimes voice commands which are confirmed by Google have to be repeated. Seems to be an intermittent Bond server issue.

Easy to set up WiFi and my fans. Just a single button press of the remote and it knew my fan/remote and that we great. My only complaint and why it gets 4 out of 5 stars is that the big Bright ring light stays on all the time. I wish that it could be turned off. I would prefer that the Bond device where more low-key because it sits on an end table but is so "Hey There" with that big Bright light. Thank goodness it's not in my bedroom.

After suggestions from help ticket 32689, none of them worked for me. I still could not get the wifi setup through the new app. I still could not get the old app to do a firmware update. Also, voice commands is not working with Google home. At this time, I have uninstalled the 2 apps and returned the Bond. When you get a more stable product with less bugs and the integration works with other companies (Google and Smartthings) I will consider purchasing again. Until then, you can keep your junk

Great way to get your normal fans and fan lights connected to the rest of your smart home. The app can take some trial and error setting up though, and there's no visible way of changing the password in the app (you have to go to their help page and click their password reset link).

Works beautjfully! I love that this allows the fans in our house to be Alexa conntrolled from anywhere. I looked for ways I could control the fans remotely when the weather gets blazing. Now we can return to a cool house without leaving fans on and wasting electricity, just turning on remotely a little before ariving back. Only took a few minutes to set up with remotes. Great product and the app worked perfect for me first try.

Setup within the app is simple and the available widgets option is a priceless tool, but the app and widgets are lacking some fairly simple features. The ability to reorganize the items (buttons, devices, etc), and renaming buttons. Fix the minor glitches here and there and apply some user personalization, and this app will be solid.

Great addition to our home. All of our rooms had single switches for the overhead light and when upgraded to fans we had to use a remote to control the light independently. Bond has allowed us to control all of them with our Google Homes and set up automations. my wife is a particularly but fan. No more getting out of bed to adjust the fan or light. It has been pretty reliable, only needing a reset every few months. Fortunately if Bond is down the remotes still work.

The fan remote worked with just one try. the aircondisioner (beta) worked well, but there is only a mode button to program, while my a/c remote has one button for each function (cool, fan only, energy saver and auto temp). Very happy with this app, looking forward to the future implementations.

This thing is awesome! I have several existing ceiling fans with lights and although there were some teething issues like there always is with new technology integrating with old technology this little hockey puck sized thing let's me turn everything on, off, I can set the speed of the ceiling fans, all from my Android phone and iPad. Customer support has been excellent also.

I worked right out of the box, it took me a little while to find the right model to match my Hampton Bay remotes but at the end it worked. I linked it with my Google Home Assistant and I worked like a charm. I even moved it downstairs thinking that it would not reach my fans upstairs but it did. I highly recommend it

Works but .. Alexa skill still can't handle dimming the lights and no fix yet. Light control through Alexa is toggle and simply flips current state but knows not what it is. If you turn light off through Alexa but it was off to start with - yep, it turns on. Great idea but needs lotsa work.

Jam. M. May 17, 2019

Garbage. It worked okay for the first year much of the time. Now it works a few hours at a time. I've wasted 100x more time troubleshooting than I ever will in an entire lifetime of just using the remote. It is also interesting that the same snake oil pitch continues "that's under development".

Der. J. Jul 25, 2019

The app doesn't consistently control my two fans. It also isn't able to mirror all functions of the fan remote, like dimming. Although there is a dimmer button in the bond app configured for my two fans, the button doesn't dim the light on either fan.

Fra. P. Nov 1, 2019

I use Amazon Echo to voice command the fan, fan speed and light. While the light doesn't dim as much for my tastes I don't use that feature. I have used the Bond app too and find no difference using the app or the Amazon Echo for controlling the fan/light. That being said Bond works perfectly for me.

It has worked great. It does do what it was designed to do. I would like it to have feedback when it triggers. The biggest issue I have is, I don't know for sure if my fan changed states when commanded by bond. When I'm away from the room I have to go back and see. I do have a problem with my fan reciever not functioning at times so I can't assume it changed states. I know this is not a bond issue. That is why a have gave it 5 stars.

Jod. R. Dec 7, 2018

Had to chat with support to get it connected to my network via the web browser on my Google Pixel 2 XL phone because the app itself wouldn't connect. Docked a star for that. After that, it's perfect. Love controlling my two Harbor Breeze ceiling fans through Google Assistant via my phone and Google Home speakers and Google Home Hub. I even added a command to my Google Assistant good night routine that automatically turns off my living room fan when I tell my Google Home speaker good night and turns it back on when I tell my speaker good morning. Well done, for the most part, Olibra!

From my personal experience, the bond home app works better with my personal fans. I have 4 Hunter fans and they didnt quite work with this app, installed the new app and there was a firmware update pushed to my hub and it was all uphill from there. Everything works great. also the bond service team is a dream to work with very helpful and responsive. The bond home app is still in beta so there are no reviews possible yet. 5 🌟 there though!

Love this device. For the cost of 2 Zwave switches I was able to control 6 existing ceiling fans that all had different features. My only complaint is that it goes offline once in a while and I have to reboot it.

Ste. F. Oct 13, 2019

Works almost exactly as needed. Had to configure my Vornado tower as a "ceiling fan," which was inconvenient but not insurmountable. Oddly enough, the OFF command works better for turning ON/OFF the fan.

Don. C. Apr 19, 2019

Love this device!! No need to purchase smart ceiling fans, this Bond device enables regular ceiling fans and lights to be controlled through Amazon Echo. Set up is easy, and it's really reliable! The cost for the Bond hardware is about $100, and it's well worth it!! I understand it works on fireplaces with remote control, but I live in Florida so I wouldn't know. This is so very worth it!!

Gets the job done, 1 draw back. Doesn't know if device is on or off. On/off commands are switch state. If off and sent off, turns on. Vice versa for on to off. Just limitation RF v Wifi.
