The new book reader has improved. But the new (app) ui is very limiting. I would love sort options/filter options which are available from the Web app
With the latest sync fixes it became a very good app. Lots of room for improvements, but 5 stars for currently being the best way to sync reading across many devices, including Linux
Absolutely love Bookfusion. Bookfusion lets me connect my books to my devices to read them anywhere without any issues across ios and Android, allowing me to read books and keep them in sync across whatever devices I want, wherever I go. I can read offline, share books with friends, and even connect to calibre to import books directly. It has a clean look regardless of what I'm reading on. To top it off, the developers are amazing and active, and keep adding new features! Can't recommend enough!
What an incredible app. If you've been struggling to find an e-reader that seamlessly syncs across devices, allows you to make highlights along with notes, opens every book format, and allow all the necessary features like theme, text style, screen lock, vertical scrolling, then this is the app for you. I've searched far and wide, shuffled through many apps, but this one has to be the winner. Go for it!
I'm thrilled with the idea of BookFusion: syncing my place in a book across multiple devices. And I could upload my personal library of PDFs and ebooks. Great! Why only 4 stars: it is slow. Turning pages conjures a loading window which sometimes freezes my tablet. Additionally, the last few lines of a chapter are almost always clipped which requires changing line spacing in order to read them. Combined with slow loading, this makes the app annoying to use. When the app improves, I'll be back.
Jury is still out, for me. I would like to use something other than Google books or Kindle to manage my library. This app still has potential. Full screen in now working, but there are bugs. Performance is very slow, still, especially when moving from one chapter to the next. Using the volume buttons to turn pages also changes the volume level. I've seen some display issues when there are only one line or two at the end of a chapter. If I could, I would give it 3.5 stars.
As a very committed Google Play Books user of many years, it took a lot for me to find another platform that was even close to parity. My minimum requirements were: Upload PDFs, Sync across devices, and have an enjoyable interface across web and mobile platforms. BookFusion met those requirements. Better yet, BookFusion even lets me search for text in uploaded PDFs -- something Play Books does not and the web interface is exponentially better than Play Books. I'm quite pleased with this app.
Don't know why many people dosen't like it tho. Actually pretty good app! But still need more polish to get 5*. Especially interface. Just dosen't have a good looking but still have basic function. And need more function like showing what page are we now, dictionary, etc. Sometime sync function messed up too. Hope u can make it the best cross platform e-Reader!
I've been looking a long time to find an app which allows me to keep all my e-books in one place, neatly synced with my Calibre library, the ability to save my highlights, and with a positive reading experience both on my Android devices and the web. Now it seems I have found it! Thanks.
I've used this app for several months, and even without the calibre integration is one of the best reader apps out there. There needs to be a little more polishing when it comes to the scrolling reading feature, as it seems to often lose its place, but I have purchased a subscription
This is an amazing app! Thank you so much developers for building such an amazing and easy to use application.
In profile, name and picture takes too much space and there's a useless button there. The scrolling is too sensitive, when you're mid scroll and decide to cancel it, you usually can by dragging it back a bit, but with here, the slightest swipe will move you to the next page and even if you fully drag the page back, it'll still move. The only thing that got this going is the decent design (function could be better) and cross platform reading.
Ok, it's promising app, but dark mode reading isn't consistent, it keeps flashing between regular and dark mode while scrolling a PDF book. Importing a PDF file with annotations (built-in FPF) doesn't convert it to annotation inside bookfusion... and the most important, couldn't find a way to export PDF with my annotations. I keep searching the perfect PDF reading experience, with all these features and reading progress sync between multiple platforms.
Update- since I started using the app/website over the summer they have continued to improve the experience on both and have actually addressed the few minor things that bothered me. I'm a pretty heavy user and I can honestly say that this is my dream ebook reader. Thanks for all the hard work!
Looks like a very nice reader app to sync across devices so I can read on my phone before bed and on my tv\pc. The deal breaker was no landscape mode. If they add this I will definitely use it and change my review rating.
Simple and easy to use on the Android app. Absolutely loving the Standard eBooks library. I love the pages customisation options and the ability to make highlights. The beta social features are very exciting as well! Can't wait to borrow and share more ebooks with friends.
Looks very dated on Android compared to the web. There is no way to sort my books by series on mobile. Lots of weird UI inconsistencies. Hopefully the new, currently closed beta, version will address all of that. Why this is a closed beta is weird, joining discord just to sign up seems very cumbersome. Response to developer: While enrolled into the Play Store Beta Programm users can't leave reviews. Shouldn't that solve that issue? I'm looking forward to the new app. Is there a rough timeframe?
Loving on this app so much. Easy to find what i need with just a click of a button. Easy to read and my books are always with me. Definitely will upload and buy more books here to be able to read on the go. Customer service too is on the top of the game. Looking forward to more books and content.
Good service. Can upload and download your own books. Cross platform (android, browser based in win/mac) Updated frequently. Highlights and notes features work nicely. Can categorise your books to organise your library. Quick response from support.
good app and service! I own a chromebook and now all my books are cloud-ready. I bought the premium subscription to manage more cloud space, very happy. The reader is cool but I wonder how to change fonts and better tune presentation (e.g. I use my preferred family of serif fonts, orange on black background). Can you help me on such as settings?
Great app and developers. The team is putting a lot of effort trying to modernize the user interface on android. It's my favorite e-book reading app and it has improved a lot compared to the past.
Please add a text to speech feature to the app for those who use the accessibility features on their phones to have the book read aloud. Thank you.
Require sign-in to even use book reader or give a spin. MEHHH. sign-in should be optional, not everyone needs sync. Very few will pay for sync subscription. Most paid users are not aware of better solution there without recurring cost. This company is notorious because of the attitude to customers, just read how they respond. They don't try convincing potential customers.
enjoy this app! i would've loved if you can add more highlight color choices like maybe blue, green and light red for annotating.
Installed. Signed up. No Calibre option! Uninstalled. As the discretion doesn't say anything about a plugin, being a lazy end user I didn't look too the bottom of the page and notice it said the Calibre part of the app was a plug in. When I get time, I will try this app again. Just add the word plugin in brackets after Calibre in your description.
While the mobile android experience is somewhat lacking in features compared to the web version, it is receiving updates frequently and incorporating user feedback from all platforms. Bookfusion is a great service that allows me to effectively manage my collection of over 200 ebooks and has my full recommendation to any reader out there.
