When it shows $0 that doesnt mean the book is worthless.....it just means those particular buyers dont need the book and that they might already have plenty in their inventories. Ive worked in collectible sports memorabilia and someone might bring me an item worth thousands but if I dont have a buyer it is in a sense worthless to me as I am a dealer not a collector.
This could be a really great app if it didn't close as soon as I got all my books scanned in. :( Please fix, it's the best one I've found so far as I can scan more than one in at a time
Book scouter works great when it works which is rarely. Most of the time when I scan a barcode it goes to a blank screen instead of giving me a list of buyers. As a independent book dealer it would come in handy if it worked like it is supposed to.
Doesn't work anymore... scans bar code but then just goes to an empty screen and never loads results. I used this daily before it broke! I know there's a new one available but that one is terrible. You have to push the Scan button over and over before it responds and there's no way to turn off the OBNOXIOUS warning about how your book is worth less than most vendors' minimum $25. No kidding, that's why I sell more than one book! So stupid.
I scan the bar code I manually put in the isbn number. It it says unexpected token failure. Not worth the download
I had high expectations with this app and the awesome reference that came from the awesome penny hoarder site...but no dice. Offers are sub par. This app had a books highest offer at 3.32 and amazon has used copies listed for 60. Sorry. Not impressed. Needs a lot of work. Then I'd reinstall and give it another go
This might be a good app if I could use it as an inventory. I'm already scanning books, why not let me inventory them. As far as using this to sell old books, forget it. I have several old, fairly hard to find first editions of a very popular author every "store" listed them as $0.00. So absolutely useless I guess. Do you have an inventory app? I'd use it.
I have tried to scan several different books with no success. I have moved the scanner in/out and tried different lighting and positions and nothing happens it just keeps scanning. I am using an HTC Disire 510
I don't know why I even downloaded this app. It had me download the bar code scanner and then would only use that app. This app never launched.
As a bit of a book hoarder I decided it's time to let go of some. Picked out 30, not ONE returned a price of anything but $0. How is that possible? It may not be the app (I guess?) but Amazon sells these for money, so how can they not be worth anything??? Just seems strange and to see many other reviews saying the same thing, makes you wonder if it is the app.
Doesn't give the information I use the website for like Amazon info. Had me download Bookscanner which didn't scan ISBNs. So no thank you.
Installed this app and used it for about a week. Then it came up with a Java Error. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still getting errors on most scans. some work, most don't. would love a fix for this.
When I scan it doesn't pull up anything the page is blank . There is no prices of any kind 0 or anything. It has been working and all the sudden it just quit will not do anything very angry.
I can resell my books online for $20 or $30 but when I looked at this app to compare, everything shown was $0.00
A book we knew that had value and is selling for over $150+ came up a mere $2.27 on this app. Don't waste your time.
I don't have the SerialMagic scanner option on my amsung galaxy note 4 - so the app boots me off right away when I open it.... so sad
Doesnt matter how need the book is some people just dont want the book's. Not the app's fault
Awesome App. if you are looking to sell books ,this is the best app. It is an excellent App to have ,it makes selling your books very easy .
It's very unreliable. Only picks up some barcodes and does not recognize most. Also, only shows small number of vendors. Easier to go to website.
This app has a good concept, if it actually worked. We tried it on many books and all ended up as valued $0.00
As soon as I open it it says no barcode scanner is detected. I have a barcode scanner app built in my phone (samsung s4) and I also have the one suggested to download by this app. Yet it still says no barcode scanner detected and it kicks me out.
Just like mentioned in a previous comment, everything scanned is priced at $0.00. What is the point of this app if everything scanned is not worth anything. Even brand new,just out of the bag books that came out recently.
Screen goes blank when you try to scan an ISBN. Update or remove from the store.
Nate H, there are several good book inventory apps, I use "Book Catalog". Good for what is was designed to do.
It does exactly what it says it will do, scans books and gives the price. It would be even better if it remembered the books so you didn't have to keep scanning them. It would also be a nice way to show how much you'd be making if you sold them all.Some of the books I scanned came up as being bought from the same company but I would have to scan each individually then sell. Would save time if you did a bulk sell.
