Downloaded this on my new phone. Haven't used it for awhile. Had issues with it when I last used it about a year ago and still having problems, some books download others get error messages 'no token, problems with down etc. I've always liked buying my books through booktop. Can never fault the service or delivery, but their ebook reader app needs a hell of lot of work.
2022... APP no longer works. 2019 ... No problem downloading app onto my Samsung tablet or Samsung Note phone. Happily reading my book however on my phone the text is too small and cannot be adjusted to larger text which is not good so i have to remember my tablet or put up with tiny text on my phone to read my book.
OK app but doesn't let you adjust font size using fingers. Also when trying to adjust font size from settings, chosen size doesn't translate back to reading layout, ie size doesn't change. I accidentally changed page setting from 1:1 and then try as I might, couldn't get it to change back. Text is generally clear but overall adjusting to reading preference is clunky and far from intuitive
uselss on a phone, you can't zoom in, and if you rotate your device it breaks the text up into two columns, so the text is no bigger.
Tiny fixed font-size. NO RESIZING. Decent font, adequate paging detection and transition, but you'll go blind using this on a phone.
Cannot get books in "Get Books" tab. Only new and have recently purchased a book and thought I would download the app thinking it would be same as the website, where you can buy books and have them delivered as just done through website.. I'm currently using an Oppo brand phone (OPPO A57). Might not be compatible? Update might be a go.
Great customer service, terrible technical support. Cannot download to my tablet with 'home' wifi which I was told was needed because neither 'work' wifi or a phone hot spot is secure. 'But' said techical support 'you can read it on your phone'. Sure 500 pages. I bought the book again; a paper back from Dymocks around the corner.
PATHETIC I cant even buy books (not ebooks) paper (feel touch smell) book. Why keep telling me to try the app if i dont use or like ebooks and I cant buy normal books with it What is the point!! Cant update even though it keeps telling me i need to update. Not worth your time energy or hard earned money!!
A dreadful app. It simply will not allow me to read the book I purchased. After a month of working with Booktopia's help desk to no avail, I have given up and uninstalled their app.
I turn off my tablet at night and every day when I open the book I am reading I have to start again at page 1. Not impressed!
Last updated in 2014. Made for Android 5 when Android 10 is the current version in 2020. They want you to support Australian business but they won't support Australian customers. Stay away.
Unable to view my purchased ebook with Adobe once I used this app. Do not bother purchasing ANYTHING from Booktopia, you will NEVER be able to access it
Downloaded Reader and wants me to find update which is unavailable so unable to read newly purchased book . Have emailed and will see how reply goes
Used to work flawlessly on my Nexus 6P. On Samsung S9+, can't download any books. 'tis a great app; please fix.
Really need to update App from 2014 version if you are promoting people to download books to be read via this App. Not very helpful otherwise as it wont work.
Poor implementation. How hard can it be to produce a simple reading app with ebook synchronization!!

Completely unable to change text size from unreadably small
The app keeps closing when I try to open an ebook.:-(
wont let me download my book after purchasing on my PC. tablet and phone keeps asking me to authorize accounts. have authorized adobe id and booktopia id.
What a terrible app. Cant even open the book to read. Waste of money. Don't buy anything from booktopia
I gave this app a 1 star just so I could say how disappointed I am with it. I cant open my ebook.

For an app that was last updated in 2014, this is surprisingly sturdy on my v new phone. You can change font, night mode, screen rotation, page animation, search, bookmark etc from the settings within each book. It takes a little while to think about opening books, but that's fine once I'm reading. I wish it opened directly into what I was last reading, but 'read now' is a bearable substitute. Mostly this feels like the little app that's determined to keep chugging along, and doing good at it.
