I really loved this app until this recent update. The design is not user friendly at all unlike before. The new design has made it complex and now the ads are so much that it affects your usage of the app. Plus the notification of boomplay media controller on the top of the screen is impossible to close as the close icon is extremely unreasonably small such that when you try to close, it opens the app. Please work on this soon or I'm deleting the app.
Horrible server connection. Once your internet shakes a little, the app can't come online anymore - unless you restart it. I've hit the daily limit of point earnings over the past few weeks consecutively, but it's not reflecting at all in my Points Mall. I find the ads really frustrating too. Even downloading songs now becomes a burden - data-consuming and time-wasting! This app isn't doing me well at all!
One of my best likes for this app was the listing of songs when playing thus according to the listing in the actual folder on the storage media. However the recent releases have squashed this experience to that of a randomized arrangement. If only the updates could leave some nitty-gritty as they are and put more efforts on other aspects that are not on the app such as extra volume beyond that of a handset.
I just discovered that after about ten times a song plays on repeat, it just stops playing and there's nothing you can do than to wait for another few minutes and keep on restarting boomplay. I'm already shifting away from boomplay and if you guys don't do something about it fast, I'll uninstall it. And also, the ads are now too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The display of this updated version makes me feel suffocated coz instead of being better it ends up being weird. Please, i really think you guys gotta return my app to the old version coz it was easy & clear always, but with these updates, they take me no where. The display is poor, the audios are kinda stucking (little bit) which is annoying. Help it by upgrading it to its betterness again, or permit it to automatically transform back to its old version at last. Please, do something, waiting.
Before these frequent updates it was my default music app but now the app has gone even worse. 1. Having difficult time finding downloaded songs. 2. Too much adds. 3. Can't play the free music, sometimes I have to watch an add to download a free song. 4. Can't backup downloaded songs in case you change your device. You have to download the songs once again. And many more. The previous versions were better.
I'm okay with the app, looks and design is somehow sophisticated. I like "number of plays" sorting button in the library. I have an issue with the lyrics page though, you can't scroll through the the lyrics when playing a music, and it's very annoying coz it's already synced. My wish would be to make the lyrics page scrollable even when the lyrics are synced. Also some ads takes the whole display, which is totally irritating, full screen ad is totally unnecessary.
I like the app but I don't like the way the album covers are appearing blurry. They are not that clear as they used to be as compared to much older versions. Clear album covers just appear to be very beautiful. There must be something done with the same issue of the album covers when updating new versions. In fact it can be great if they start this again with the next version that is going to be updated. I hope this issue is taken seriously and that this point is very clear.
Best Android player, allows streams and I subbed VIP. It has one issue which is quite annoying: if someine called twice or you pause a song twice. It doesn't play the next immediately. It waste an awful long time, almost exactly the length of the just finished song. Delaying to play the next song. To make it work normal, I have to restart my phone. It's not nice. The developers should fix this. It's completely normal to pause songs or receive calls when music is playing. Thanks
The update doesn't allow me to display all my music like the old version. I hate it because it always requires internet connection, which I think it should be optional for the user to decide when to connect to the internet. Anytime I want to play music, I always go to my file explorer to select the music before boom play will load and start playing the music else, I can't select a music from the new boom play like the old version.
I don't know if this is an oversight or an intentional design wickedness. But the notification media controller is almost impossible to close. You guys made the close icon so tiny that closing it forces the user to open the app. That's totally wrong and I'm never subscribing to the premium version till this is fixed, neither will I ever recommend it to anyone. Not just that... Your home screen widget is so poorly made: it takes up more space than it actually needs. I am not refereing to the widget but the player controller that comes in the notification panel.
The App was working fine until I updated it and then it started malfunctioning; First it won't show my downloaded songs when opened, I have to reopen for it to show. I removed the SIM of the number registered on my account and then I tried to change but there's no means for me to do so. Added my mail and it started working fine until today when it won't play any song at all. I have reopened and have cleared my cache as well but still can't play my songs. Boomplay please fix it.
Boomplay is good... I encourage y'all to install it, I being using Boomplay for over 6 years now... Only having issues with how it scans both music mp3 and phone sound record. I think it should be able to differentiate mp3 and other music format excluding voice notes and sound record(acc). It's embarrassing how you will be playing song from a home theater and everyone is listening then all of a sudden the next song is a voice record... Especially when it's something personal 🥺
How come the option that provides 'Play Next' is so small, that each time I want to play another song, it goes to the alphabet locator. It's so annoying to have to click the button multiple times and it keeps taking you somewhere else. The ads are just so intrusive as well. Shouldn't have gotten the update
Yes, I removed my 5star I gave before now and gave a 2star. What's it with the interference of an Ad with my music? Why would I be playing and I'll be interrupted by an Ad over and over again??? Why? I can't have a seamless music anylonger? If I have my data put off, that Ad stops my music from looping. I'll have to go put it to the next song. This isn't supposed to be please. It's really disturbing. The visual Ads are enough, do not interupt my music play. That audio Ad makes this update wack.
I don't understand this app anymore. Just got a new phone and I have been trying to sign in since but it's not working. It keeps on insisting that there is no network meanwhile my data is on. It's so annoying because other apps are working apart from this. And I really need my music. I might be forced to just move to another app if I doesn't start working asap
This is a very good app for its category. However, I believe improvement can be done to the playlists. I should be able to remove some songs from my playlist if added by mistake. I'm really delighted about this app. After making a complaint, I was replied immediately and I'm now in full control of my playlist. This is the best music app on the platform. The only issue I have now which I know will be attended to is my inability to subscribe, the payment platform rejected my debit card
Boomplay has always been a great app. But since the new update, I haven't been able to get into it. Whenever I try to open the app, it shows the launch screen and nothing else. And at the bottom of my screen, it shows some kind of code that in it says application error. At one time, I'd waited for as long as 5 minutes and when I checked, it was still displaying the launch screen. So I can't even use the app for anything. I don't know where the fault is from but want to know what the problem is.
How come there isn't a search function in the local music library yet? That ought to be basic by now guys. Also, the favorite songs list does not have a search function. It's annoying and strenuous to peep through every song to get to the one I'm looking for, it's quite a long list you afford me to have, kindly include these functions too. Thank you. By the way, you guys rock! Boomplay is legit the best music app I know
After the most recent update I did,I must say that I'm really disappointed. My app stops ever 7 minute or so while playing my songs,and it's very embarrassing cos I always play it with my Bluetooth speaker. 5 stars won't be a thing if you fix this so I can play my songs without any problems. I might start looking for other reliable music apps if this one keeps disappointing me
I have been using this app for a while and it is a great app but my only issue is that downloaded songs don't appear on phone memory and can only be found o the app. Meaning one cannot play such music with another music app. I will personally love and appreciate if this is made possible in any subsequent updates.
Terrible. Your new UX is terrible. Who designed it?? I can't easily find anything anymore. Reachability has become tedious. I can't find artists, playlist except the ones that are shown on the screen. What on earth was the designer thinking? Profile is now on top of the screen. Man..
Been a premium subscriber for over a year now, and almost every month, something new comes that you have to adapt to again. My last subscription expired and the payment method changed again, and I couldn't put in the subscription. Tried to use my earned boomcoins to purchase a one week subscription till I could fix the problem, but Boomplay developed network errors in nowhere but the exact BoomMall. So now I can't access my coins, because I'm not subscribed. I'm done.
Can't you people leave out video ads? I mean ads with audio. Imagine downloading a fresh song you watched on TV by your favourite artist, and on playing it, all you hear is an annoying intro of a video add. I hate this, it makes the app worth uninstalling! I wouldn't even expect full screen ads. Music apps should be travel-friendly. I need convenience when walking!
