The Boosted app is pretty cool, but it could use some improvement. For example, I wish there was a better design for how it calculates range. Instead of having to manually enter how often I ride hills and my riding style, it would be cool if it would automatically estimate my range based on previous rides. It would also be cool if I could set a destination and have it tell me how much it would use to get there (like a tesla). I also had an issue where the mileage was reset after it was repaired.
The app is good and works great. I was also having the same problem as some people with it not connecting. I will just get to the point press the power button on the mini x five times. Then look for the board on your phones bluetooth devices and it should work with the app after that. This is something boosted board does not show you how to do in the manual. Welcome
With the big drop in quality in the last generation of boards and the absolute trash fire that this app is, you shouldn't be buying Boosted in 2019/2020. Whoever makes this app should be embarrassed. My bluetooth headphones automatically connect to my phone when I turn them on. Why doesn't the board do the same?! The app itself is still amazingly bad. Don't bother using the ride recorder, because you will lose more than half of your rides. Use Strava on eBike mode. On top of that you can't see battery and range and stuff if you're in the recording screen. A drunk designer with half a brain would still show you battery & range stats when you're riding. That's the most important part! Really all rides should just be recorded automatically if you phone is in range. You can't start the app if you don't have a reliable internet connection. Seriously. Just a white screen with a logo reminding you which company hates their Android users. The app doesn't really remember your board. How hard would it be to say "$NAME last connected $DATE, $TIME" and then show the last recorded mileage & battery. Look at your app ratings, Boosted! It's so bad!
Boosted is a great company with amazing products all of which are incredibly high quality. Connecting the app to the board is simple. Press the power button on the board five times until the light turns blue and connect on the app. The only tedious thing about this is having to reconnect it everytime you use the board. The app isn't necessary but the features are interesting like. battery indicator, stats, speed modes. Over all works good would be better if it auto connected everytime though
Bought a 2nd hand mini X, but couldn't connect it on a Samsung Note 9. The board was discoverable but wouldn't connect. If you have a similar problem you need to press the power button on the board 5x quickly to force the connection (the android app doesn't presently prompt to do this). App is good, would prefer a speedometer on the home dashboard screen.
Trying to pair the app to my board is a nightmare. No matter what you try or how you try, it will not connect (Both powered on, while charging, or pressing the power button 5 times to pair). Eventually after a few days I managed to get it paired, although the Remote Control would loose Bluetooth connection when the app would pair, so I refrained from using the app while riding. The app got updated, and although it has a fresh new coat of paint, it lost its pairing to my board. Now it's dejavu time as I've tried every possibly scenario again to try and pair the app to my board, spent a few hours, and tried different phones, and no luck. Come on Boosted, many users have been having this issue across iOS and Android for months on end. Please listen to your users, and resolve the pain points they are encountering with the app. In the end your users are the ambassadors to your brand.
Won't connect to my board, I have tried everything. when I first got it I was able to connect but the randomly one day I stopped being able to connect. I've emailed support. done all the troubleshooting stuff. idk what else to do. both my friends iPhones can connect to it but it just stays on the connecting screen for me. None of my android devices can connect. UPDATE: I got a new phone and it still doesn't work. This is stupid.
It shouldn't be this bad. The app has great data you want about your board, but it can't consistently connect to the board. Every time I launch the app when I go for a ride, I have to put the board in pairing mode again to connect the app and the board. Very frustrating, and I'm considering deleting the app.
Hello again Dev Team, Please fix and/or add for Boosted Rev: Scooter name change still randomly reverts back to factory. Zero configuration options for throttle/brake sensitivity, regen instead of coasting when throttle released etc). Some form of locking the electronic capabilities without your phone connected via bluetooth would be amazing. Auto start/stop ride tracking would be superb.
App is so bad. You have to reconnect your board with your phone everytime you turn it on (press the button 5 times, pair it in phone). It doesn't track travel automatically as well. You have to connect them, manually record your travel. Isn't that supposed to be all automated? Need to fire your software guys
The app has problems pairing with the board. I always have to switch the board to "Pairing Mode" everytime to use the app. This app used to work perfectly for me but broke 2 or 3 updates ago. I've tried clearing it's data, reinstalling, forgetting the board and restarting the whole pairing process and no luck.
warning, latest update (jul 19) absolutely killed connectivity on my pixel 3 xl (stealth and mini s). Board is visible as connection choice (even shows dot by name in pairing mode), but just never successfully connects. been trying for a week, finally gave up rolled back to old version, which still has issues but at least i can force a connect by putting board into pair mode. don't install this update, friends. team boosted, please qc your updates better before releasing!
Establishing a connection can sometimes take quite a while with the Boosted Rev, and it often "forgets" the display name I set for my scooter. A notable feature is missing, as you cannot remotely lock the scooter from the app. This should be achievable with software, but currently it seems to be not implemented.
Uodate post 4/17/2019 update: Not sure id any of the "bug fixes" included connectivity fixes but it does seem much more reliable now... 4/11/2019 Review: Love the board and the app is cool when it works but app connectivity to the board is definitely spotty at best. Works ok in a low RF environment but in an office place or place with a lot of obvious RF interference it won't pair at all and basically just cycles between pairing attempts. Pixel 2 latest updates installed non-jailbroken
I have 2 boosted boards, a mini x and v2. I keep having to repair everytime with the v2. And updates fail for the v2 but not the mini x. I thought it was me doing something wrong but I'm not the only one with this problem. App was great when it was linked to the mini c alone
Not easy to use. Connecting to the board for the first time did not work. I had to go to boosted's site to follow their steps (the same steps I took when attempting a connection for the first time). Those instructions did not work. I had to look in the comments section for a solution, which helped me connect to the board for the first time. After turning off the board and turning it back on, the app again could not connect to the board. This process needs to be seamless, and right now its not.
Wide spread firmware problem deleting ride modes from people's boards. It's happening to V2 and V3 boards. If you have the app then delete it because with boosted dead there's no way to get firmware support anymore. Also, don't download any new firmware updates. If something goes wrong then there's no support from boosted as they're dead (like I said above). Just delete the app.
Needs a lot of work but potential is there. Connection dropping very often, not all the citys are marked, so i can't choose my city Tallinn, capital of Estonia. UI wise, looks nice and promising but please work on it :)
Board is awesome. App... Pretty much sucks in every way. Refuses to pair, updates are very difficult to push to board, ride tracking isn't great (always differs from what board milage is). Generally not so great.
Used to be good and worked perfectly, now it's broken and I can't even sign in, all sign in options don't work, neither do making a new account and when you try to sign in like normal without using Google or Facebook, their broken code shows up where it's supposed to say "Incorrect Password" fix your broken app please. Now I have to use Runtastic to track my trips.
Fantastic, doesn't take too long to connect to my board. Only problem I have is that we currently don't have an Smart Brake Light Always On option, so that anytime you hit the reverse it will turn the brake lights on.
Contacted BoostedUSA and they've indicated that the app is deprecated. No changes can be made by them as the IP is owned wholly by Lime. If anyone can contact Lime and pressure or assist in the unlocking of this app it would be helpful. Everything is held behind the login that cannot be created or used anymore.
This app works fine nothing amazing gives you basic information on the board with an odometer to track total mileage and notifications for when its dead or charged. UPDATE: Got a replacement board from amazon. Be careful and follow instructions 100% when updating your board. Firmware updated a brand new board... bricks the board after doing exactly what the app wanted. Good thing I wasn't dumb enough to buy from Boosted directly.
Prob the buggiest app on the entire app store, this takes skill to acomplish Milage will randomly change. And only alerts you at battery charging levels when it feels like it. Not when you ask it to.
worst experience for a connected board app. was only able to connect to my mini x the first day I got it and after that it hasn't been able to tether at all. Terrible app.
Alot of bugs right now. I'm unable to sign in to my account. It was fine a while ago. I don't know when this issue started happening since I don't open the app that much. My board is refusing to connect.
Needs to be fixed I can't sign in no matter how many different ways i try. Uninstalling and reinstalling is a waste of time. Only thing i can use this app for is to see how much its charging after ive opened the app and turned on the board before plugging it back it. Come on guys. The quality of the app should be similar to the quality of the board
Won't let me create account, keeps saying "registration failed". Also, I'd like to be able.to use my app as a secondary remote. Shouldn't be hard to make that happen.
Mediocre app. Very lengthy and unreliable connection process. The app doesn't save my recorded tracks. Hoping to find an alternative soon.
It's a nice looking app, but the connection is horrible. Sometimes it will connect to the board, sometimes not. Sometimes force-quitting and restarting will help, sometimes I have to clear all the data and try again. Sometimes none of that works and you just have to try again another day. It's basically useless. If the connection was stable, it would be a solid 4/5, and if you could export GPX tracks of rides recorded that would be 5/5 for sure, but in the current state this is just a waste of space on my phone.
