Borderline Explained the truth about BPD

Borderline personality disorder or BPD affects over 18 million Americans or roughly 6% of the adult population and is arguably the most devastating of all psychiatric disorders. At the same time, BPD is one of the most stigmatized, misunderstood, and least talked about psychiatric disorders. For many years it was believed that BPD only affected young women. However, we now know that both men and women of all ages are affected with BPD. What makes BPD such a devastating disorder is the high rate of self-injury and suicidal behavior associated with it. With a “death by suicide” rate of roughly 10% it currently has the highest mortality rate of any mental health condition.
The American Psychiatric Association classifies BPD not as a psychiatric disorder but as a personality disorder. A personality disorder is an enduring and pervasive pattern of thinking, feeling, and behaving which deviates markedly from the social norm and causes significant personal distress as well as social and occupational impairment. Personality disorders tend to be treatment resistant, however there are exceptions.

This app will explore borderline personality disorder including the origin of the disorder, the symptoms, and associated behaviors, the statistics associated with BPD, and the current treatments. Despite what was once believed about BPD being untreatable, we now know that with the proper psychotherapy many people with BPD do get better and even fully recover.

Borderline Explained includes:
• A comprehensive and detailed description of borderline
personality disorder.
• The A.P.A. official diagnostic criteria for BPD with explanations.
• A discussion of the possible cause of BPD
• Original articles from the developers
• Borderline personality disorder in men
• Information on treatments from the Nat’l Institute of Mental
Health
• A discussion of DBT therapy for BPD
• Detailed statistics on the prevalence, the mortality rate, and other
statistics on BPD
• Celebrities with BPD
• A self-assessment for BPD
• Informational videos on BPD
• An assessment for testing your knowledge about BPD

It's so important that everyone know and understand as much as possible about afflictions like this. I've been arguing almost everyday with someone I love to pieces, and wish I had thought about finding an app like this before instead of now. The app is great, easy to follow information, simple and powerful. Maybe more dynamic examples of content covered in the app? Or help in learning how to navigate the obstacles one faces with them, but together. I don't know how that would look. Gj

This has been an extremely useful app in tracking my moods! I've recently started back up in treatment for borderline personality disorder. This app makes it easy for me to stay consistent.8. I love the app! The chart, warning signs etc really help me understand and listen to my own body more. I'd definitely recommend.

Upon a search of "disorder", within the top 10 results I see 3 "psycnet" apps, of which one of them is #1 result. While the information is good, (atleast the offline content), it is regurgitated from other sources. The layout of each app is identical, however the icon images on download screen seem "too" unique, thereby concealing the relationship until further examination. Its a tad creepy, considering the online "tests" and information stored from within the apps.

In a relationship with a person afflicted by BPD. This app is a good source of info to help cope with the ups and downs. Some coping strategies provided, would benefit from more in-depth "how to" briefs in setting boundaries in a loving and supportive setting. Overall excellent app. Thank you

It's a pretty good read...especially if you are someone who suffers from BPD or for those who have a loved one who struggles with this agonizing disorder. Being that I have this disorder, I have read many articles on the matter. But this is (hands down) the most informative and accurate explanation I have read thus far. It has a very unique and insightful way of breaking it down and explaining to it's readers exactly what BPD is and what it's like to live with this disorder. I highly recommend!!

Would mark with 5 stars and am willing to come back to change this once this problem is fixed but I was able to use the app earlier today so that way I could begin reading on bpd because I want to learn more on this disorder. However, I just went to get back on the app and no sooner as I take the sexotjon I want to look at or even try to tab a different section the app crashes and closes out. I wish really love to be a me to read up on this and learn all I can ease fix this so I can.

The one fault of apps like these, is when people dont have mental illness, but they have one or two of these traits ,makes them assume they have borderline or whatever. But it could help people that have it. I personally decided I want happy apps on my phone, not apps about the sicknesses that wrecked much of my own life. But that's just me I'm sure its a decent informative app. Just changed my mind about it!

I found this app incredibly informative and easy to understand. Thank you for shedding some light on an illness I didn't initially understand, I recommend this app to anyone that either has or would like to learn more about their loved ones condition :)

Totally inciteful and helpful. Wish I'd seen sooner. Relative examples and ways to work through issues and ways to find help. A great read if you are a sufferer of BPD.

Very helpful and informative app. It does a great job explaining so very much about bpd. The ball is dropped, however, in the section "10 Signs a Woman may have bpd" It mostly reads as sexist and mysogynistic, as the clickbait title would lead most to assume. I felt uncomfortable and uneasy as I read it. Where's the "10 Signs a PERSON may have bpd" section? Why does this focus solely on females? Males don't do the same things?

Please... Keep updating with more articles and any resources. This is helping on days I do not have therapy or DBT. knowing your not alone is major.

Great app. Finally I understand my mental health and realised there is more to my diagnosis of anxiety and depression. Thus app should be used in drs surgeries/clinics etc because I'm sure that I'm not the only person who has been mis diagnosed for 20yr plus, so glad I downloaded this app as I understand myself and feelings 100% now. Thankyou to the creators of this app it's fantastic for those who aren't aware of all these mental health problems and those who deal with it every day xxxx

I am so so grateful this crossed my path. It's so informative, if I can't explain to others my feelings or what I'm dealing with. I just hand the phone and say read. It'll make sense to them and me after, it's super relieving. Somedays are like living a whole different life, how helpful it is. Please, know the distance this has takin me, it's changed things for the better in every way. I love this, wow... Thank you

THIS IS WONDERFUL I rarely rate. (can be overwhelming), thank you for making this easy to use. I do get the need for ads I really appreciate they are easily exited when needed. That can mean ALOT to those who already feel chronically trapped cornered or coerced in day to day life.

I am a person who suffers from BPD, as well as OCD, ADHD, PTSD, and Bipolar II Disorder. I found this app to be extremely informative and I felt that each section was very well-written and couldn't have been explained any better.

This app is great. It gives great detail of what its like living with BPD and BPD/Bipolar disorder and its posts help us really relate and can better understand better why we act and are the way we are. I haven't experienced any harshness from anyone. The remarks to the posts have been loving and kind, even helpful to some. I just wish my son would take the time to sit down and read what I've sent him or would do some research about it so he'd better understand me so we could get along again.

Very informative! I'm pretty sure my husband has BPD but he won't go see a therapist to be properly diagnosed (yet). After reading him several of the articles on this app I finally got him to admit out loud that he probably does have BPD. I have also recently realized that I almost definitely suffer from quiet BPD, so it's like we are a match made in heaven (or more like hell if we're being honest...)

This was very educational, painful, and enlightening. I know some about this disorder as my children suffer from it and as I have traits still ...and in the past may have actually had the disorder and been mislabeled with Bipolar. Bc I have 1 bipolar symptom now with no medicine. Anyway, you spent amazing effort in this and thank you for that

Dar. H. Dec 12, 2021

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this app if you are wanting help in understanding this disorder. This app does an excellent job in explaining BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). As a person who suffers from this horrific disorder I was very pleased with the accuracy of the data, care & concern that went into the creation of this app. I was pleasently shocked with the creator of this app and his knowledge if this horrific disorder. Thank you so much for hard work, as this is a very hard disorder 2 explain

This is very useful app to learn about mental disorders, including borderline personality disorder, so you can understand what the person with the disorder is experiencing. Thanks to the dev for making this great app.

Sha. P. May 4, 2022

A most excellent introduction and tool. It really helps me increase my awareness. Thank you.

Rit. J. Oct 29, 2019

Impressive app! This app contains alot of great information of different traits of borderline personalities. Great for those who want to learn more about this disorder!

Jor. Y. Jan 1, 2021

As a person who has a BPD diagnosis and works front line in mental health, this app is incredibly problematic. Not to say that the creators experience is invalid or inaccurate, but the language used is very negative and the tone reads as very draining and almost hopeless. Having said that, I didn't get very far in as within the first sentence I was put off. If you are looking for positive information i would go to websites like MIND or CALM

Mil. N. Jun 8, 2020
