Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline Personality Disorder Explained with app, The exact causes of Borderline Personality Disorder differ from person to person, but at its very core, the effects are similar. Those with the disorder often see the world as completely black and white, with no room for a 'gray' area. This means that things can either seem good, or bad, but typically nothing in between, to the point of extremes on either side. As you might expect, that kind of thinking can lead to impulsive behavior, destructive decisions, and can be a huge factor in creating completely chaotic relationships. Unfortunately, most people with Borderline Personality Disorder aren't quick to seek out treatment on their own, but with the right encouragement, it can be helped.

What Really Causes BPD?

As stated above, there is no one 'official' cause when it comes to Borderline Personality Disorder. It can be something deeply rooted in our brains structure or chemistry, or, can unfortunately be a product of circumstance. Childhood issues, abuse, abandonment, etc., can all lead to issues with BPD. Some of the issues don't appear until later in life, which can be confusing in diagnosis. The most important thing, though, is to understand the symptoms of BPD, which can be different on a case by case basis.

What Are Some Symptoms To Look For?

Even though everyone responds to BPD differently, it's important to understand symptoms before they become too serious to control, and the person struggling can hurt themselves, or someone else. Some common symptoms include:

A feeling of loneliness or emptiness
Fear of being alone
Impulsive behavior (especially in relationships, with funds, etc.)
Unwarranted anger
Boredom
Addiction/Self-Harm

These symptoms can lead to a high-risk lifestyle in many instances, making this disorder extremely dangerous for the person involved, and those around them. Because most people struggling with BPD hate being alone, they'll also be quick to jump from relationship to relationship - another example of impulsive behavior and decisions. Not only is this unhealthy for them as a person, but it can be easy for someone to take advantage of that kind of behavior.

more of a how-to-avoid-of-borderline-personalities guide. so shallow, so far from understanding the situation, yet superficially perceiving it.

Only installed it to see if my opinion of it matched. Others it's disgusting and should be removed by standards authorities most people with bpd are genunially suicidal and don't tell Nyone what they are going to do so there not doing it to get back at people who wrote this rubbish they have never experienced the condition its often the condition itself that makes people suicidal and the article is wrong to say meds can cure it they help with depression and anxiety as do therapies if you can get

Ouch. Who wrote this bull!? Seriously, though, most BPD patients are non-violent, and recover almost fully from their illness, as they get older. Why can't there be zero stars option, so I can give zero stars!? Like, honestly!? So disappointing.

This is horrible! Recently diagnosed, thought this could help me understand me better... but wow this isnt what i was expecting at all! To sum it up... it pretty much calls people with BPD monsters and you should avoid them at all cost.. Truely disgusting how harsh this is DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE BPD. IT WILL NOT HELP AT ALL, its just straight out mean.

First off, the majority of this is directly plagiarized from the mayo clinic website. Also, the other reviews are true. There is a section that calls people with BPD emotional bullies. As was previously said by others, this is a horrible app for those with BPD. It acknowledges how hard the disorder is on a person, but then goes on to make them sound like horrible people.

horribly stigmatized information. it makes it sounds as though people with this disorder are manipulative bullying social monsters. this isnt the case, you dont HAVE to have BPD to exhibit that behaviour, and you dont HAVE to have BPD if you do exhibit it. its shallow and repulsive. writing this about a group of people who are already unstable emotionally is about the stupidest decision you could make, because they will be the ones to read it.
