This app is poorly designed. It is neither intuitive nor consistent. The installation of an additional speaker is confusing. The worst experience I had is changing the name of the speakers. It does accept the new names and even displays them. But the next time you open the App it reverts back to the original names. No way to make the new names stick. And this doesn't even address the audacity of this app to force you into using only certain sound sources via wifi. Bose please start over.

Very disappointing app. Sometimes works great, but most of the time the app can't find my speakers, or music launches then stops. Sub-par performance from a company that is supposed to produce great sound systems. Will not buy Bose again, in spite of good sound and hardware quality. The software just destroys it all and creates a very frustrating experience. Some features are in my opinion lacking, even simple ones, like the possibility to have an alarm clock.

This is the most unstable app ever created by a so-called premium, expensive sound system brand. Thw most basic function like connecting to the speaker is so tedious and it keeps popping errors like "hmm that didn't work" or "hmm we couldn't connect to that service". The app keeps prompting you to update to latest version except that it is the latest version that's already installed. Disgraceful!!

Considering how good the sound quality of their speakers is, the app is SO bad. I don't really use it and just connect everything by Bluetooth because it makes my life infinitely easier. I'm hoping in time the app will improve, but its just not what you'd want when spending so much on good audio. It's getting 2 stars, which in my opinion is generous, because it does function, however it's not as good as some competitors, but as stated, it does let you play music, so does function.

Awful app and awful software ... the benefit of the improved sound quality (IMO) of bose kit is not worth the hassle of the inferior quality of their software vs. Sonos. When different mobile devices on different platforms (android/apple) access it... the speaker then is frequently not visible to the other device using the app. So we reset ... then it works for a while only for the same issue to persist in a short space of time. So so poor!

The app is just horrible. For years I constantly have to re-set one soundtouch system out of 3 in addition to the wave. Right now the app tells me there is an up-date but there is no way to up-date. If I click on "remind me later" the up-date will reminder pops up after 3 seconds. Hoing on for years One time we had to be on the phone with Bose support for hours and everything had to be re-set And reading through the reviews many are having the same trouble with this app and nothing changes.

Terrible app for a supposedly quality sound system. But, having used Soundtouch since 2014, I shouldn't be surprised. It has never worked properly. It seems to have severe dementia when it comes to finding any of the speakers and then goes downhill from there. Update 18-04-22: Except there's little to update. Still an awful app, it can't find a speaker not 4 metres away. In fact its hit or miss whether it finds any of my Soundtouch speakers.

Fed up with the Bose Soundtouch. Constantly losing connection with Spotify. It's awful. There was some improvement for a while but it has went backwards again. Bose have clearly given up on this product. Just let me know if this is the case, then I can finally buy something that actually works without factory resets, uninstalling & reinstalling apps, rebooting router. It is so unreliable & very frustrating.

Speakers are okay, soundtouch app is absolute trash! I've been trying to be patient for over a year but every single time I try to use the app I have to reload my speakers, reenter my wifi info and go through the full setup, every time! It works for that day and the very next day it can't find my speakers. Expected better, I will be looking for alternatives

Re-writing my review: By far, bose has by far the worst software support of all major audio companies. I use several bose products and on each of them I have software issues. It is not the internet, got it checked several times, yesterday also changed the router, it also has problems on several other devices. Terrible terrible terrible, thinking to sell all of my equipment to switch to Sonos. Pay for a developer, do something, this has been a problem for years!!!!!!!! Terrible terrible terrible!

Useless. The speaker is connected to the internet, music works fine since the setup worked once. Since this time the speaker is great, the app is either not connecting to the speaker, can not add it again or gives random errors whenever I change a setting. I am afraid every time I have to use the app. There are loading modals on every sreen, nothing is working reliable. This app is the main reason I would not buy any sound touch speaker again

Been a long time Bose customer spanning over decades. Unfortunately their app for setting up a full home experience (around 8k square feet) has been a complete headache. While we love the Bose sound quality and delivery of rich tones, we are forced to switch to another brand that has a better technology for connectivity. Very sad that Bose still hasn't figured out a good fix for this app after many years.

I have had the Bose Sound touch app for quite a few years now and I believe that Bose have finally gotten the software working as users expect. I have two 10 units and a 30 unit, which work independently or as a system. Set up is simple, choosing preset channels couldn't be easier, and linking with Amazon Music or Spotify accounts is completed in a handful of simple steps. The app is user-friendly and takes no time at all to learn. My only disappointment is not being able to link my Soundbar.

App does not work. Loses my Soundtouch. When i go through setup, have to do it multiple times before it works, after a few days it cannot see it. Loses my Soundtouch intermittent. Worked fine on my Iphone, this started when i switched to Android.... Update 1/9/22: just realized the app is working extremely well, after multiple updates. I just use it for volume control. Hardly ever use any other features on the app.

I love Bose, but this app is a disaster. I have it for years, since purchasing a Soundwave3. It has always been buggy and still is. The most recent update is the most disastrous. Although I have updated the app, every time I launch it, and multiple times while using it, it tells me I need to update. This can be overlooked. Today however, I bought a new speaker. I can't connect to it at all because the app insists I must update but I have. And so I loop.. Reinstalling doesn't help. Super angry.

I would like to modify an earlier rating, as I see people are having issues with the app. I don't have any issues at all. The app works perfectly for me. I have paired a Bose 20 and 2x Bose 10s via the app, with all 3 in complete sync. I use the app regularly to choose songs to play from the Spotify area. Also, the app allows favourites as well as presets - all working as expected. On the rare occasion I have experienced a disconnection but obviously that's a wifi issue and a reset sorts it out.

I have different channels set on the 6 numbers available, my favourite being number 1. Recently, my speaker has failed to find the right channel on a number of occasions. This is not consisent; some days it works, some days it doesn't. Having got a new phone, I now have no problems; seems to find the right channel every time!

This system is a recurring nightmare - speakers lose connection for no obvious reason and can take an hour's fiddling about to reconnect. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Update 1/2022 - I've now completely given up on trying to make the app work - utterly useless and hours wasted trying to connect. Just using them on Bluetooth now until I get the speakers on ebay. Don't Bose ever read these reviews?

Sitting at Christmas Eve trying to get music in two rooms... Complete failure for a second year running. Spotify can cast music to all three of my Bose speakers. The Bose app on the other hand, can't seem to connect to more than one speaker at a time, if it gets that far. SUPER frustrating.

This is literally the 10th time I have had to re-connect my SoundTouch 20 to wireless and its already taken hours and I keep coming back to the same issue - the thing simply does not want to connect to my network; the app is like a child, it will exhaust every which way in order to tackle the problem and then just repeat itself in another direction which then leads to another dead-end. Its simply random at its thinking; but either the app is a complete clusterF, or there is something materially wrong with the actual SoundTouch product that an app cant be smart enough to know its customer. Its now next to my garbage shute - such a pity as the formula Bose uses between sound clarity and deep base is amazeballs. It should get 1 star right now, but I need to give it some credit.

This app is such garbage that not even Bose's Tech support can figure it out. This is for a SoundTouch 300 Soundbar. While it shows my WD NAS in "Recently Played" it will not connect saying "it can't find music library Make sure your computer or NAS drive is on and not in sleep mode" Worse it that "Add Service" also doesn't work. You get the option to add "Music Library on NAS" and nothing pops up, even on a refresh. Additionally, the app at times has trouble connecting to the speaker, or network at times. App version 27.02. Sorry but Bose needs to find a company that actually knows how to write a program as their app for the Bose HD700 headphones is also problematic. At the end of the day this app is garbage!!!

My only concern is when the system has been disconnected and you will need to do the set up from start all over again, even though you have the app on your phone. Another concern is, although I have a paid music app called (Napster) on my phone I cannot add this app to my Bose soundtouch.

I have had to reconnect the soundwave quite a few times for internet radio and have spent many frustrating hours, not to mention the blue language, reconnecting with this app. It works sometimes and other times its like a petulant child. Claims it can't find router etc despite no changes other than the random drop out.

So disappointed in Bose... Great hardware, buy software updates DAILY when you just want some music, and then never connects on your actual phone. It's been sitting idle for 2 years now as I can't play more than 2 preset stations from when I first bought it. (4 dissolved). Highly recommend to stay away from this setup.

I was disappointed when I bought the 700 soundbar and it didn't communicate with my lifestyle 650. I should have returned it then, and move on to a Sonos bar. Loyalty to Bose stopped me, and I proceeded to purchase a bass 700, and rear speakers for it. The remote settings do not show on the screen, as the Lifestyle 650, another big disappointment. Do yourself a favor, do not make the mistake of buying Bose. It's not what it used to be. This from a Bose loyal customer for 40 years. 😠

great sound from a small footprint. very balanced and good pitch and I cannot expect too much bass with the setup. mobile app is easy to use and integrate well with Spotify. Re-rating after 1 year. Unstable app. Every once a while, it failed to play from Spotify over wi-fi. I have to reset the connection. Now, I have to uninstall and reinstall the app!!! Frustrated.

I've been using this app now for probably around 18 months. When it is fully working the app is great. HOWEVER! The software will often stop working for no reason and we have good wifi so I can't believe it is that. Trying to re-connect speakers is a complete time consuming pain. In fact, it is so bad we will often go for months without any connectivity just because we don't have the time or patience to reconnect. Sometimes, despite everything we just can't get the speakers connected. Now, the app won't even upload updates and just crashes, which I have never experienced until now. The software is simply unreliable. Don't get me wrong, I love Bose and have many of their products but the supporting software by comparison is terrible. A complete let down. Bose, please sort it out! You have great products so time to invest in an app that actually works reliably and does your products justice. I don't recommend this app, but guess you have no choice. Very disappointing.
