Bouncie

The app is terrible as it consistently has to be shut down a and restarted. The app will trace the route and show some details which are helpful. However, attempts to navigate within while tracking and the app begins to freeze and show inaccurate info. Normal behavior between function acts up and fails to load or displays an unrelated date point. Bouncie develop team obviously feels like they have nothing to update as the app is over 2 years outdated. Where are big updates for new versions?

I have had this now for my teenager about 4 months and I love this app, it's accuracy is amazing. The alerts and notifications you get to choose from is excellent and it cost much less than those other trackers! I don't understand why you took away the ability to see the mph when you touched anywhere along the route though. That was a great feature.

Overall I really like it. It would be even better if I could control volume and type of sound for the alerts, to differentiate from other sounds my phone makes, and to make sure I can actually hear it. If I'm sleeping and someone steals my truck, I'm not likely to hear the alert. Another thing I REALLY wish they'd improve on is the menu. Finding the vehicle history takes me 5 minutes every time. I don't access it enough to remember, and it's really hard to find on the app. Why not a better menu to access everything from? There is also a little bit of delay in the location alerts, but not too bad. Lots I like about it, but not mentioning because that's pretty much just everything else that's included.

I spent months investigating the various GPS products that are available and luckily i found this one. Very easy to setup, very good support, it's able to do everything that i need it to do, and the price for monthly service is less than a Netflix account, and there's no contact, you can cancel at anytime. It provides very accurate GPS data and keeps up with history, as well as a color trail of the path(s) taken, where the color changes along the trail according to traveling speed. A+

Just now, I was trying to watch my wife driving to pickup our kids and app shows map on the 1/4 top part of the phone screen. Map is not usable when cropped to such a tiny square. The rest of the screen shows detail, such as what speed it was going. Nothing else works, cannot switch to events, only to options to switch vehicle and back to home page. After 10-15 minutes, it's starts to work as it should and shows map in full screen. And it is every time when you didnt use the app for a while.

(12/22/22 I'm still a satisfied user)! I just received the device today. App and device were very easy to install and are working well. The app interface is user-friendly and easy to set up. I installed the app on two cell phones without any issues, and they sync instantly with the website control panel which allows use of your computer to track your car. I chatted with customer care once before deciding to buy the device and once after receiving it, great service! Satisfied so far!

it works very well. the geo-circles and mapping detail are excellent. only wish it was closer to live data but good for tracking my elderly parent and fast enough for me to give directions over the phone. UPDATE We've been using this for a couple of years now. I received an alert late one night. I was hoping someone wasn't taking the car out. It actually was a low battery alert. This allowed me to pick up a battery and put it in the next morning without being late for an appointment.

I've had this app for over a year. Not only is it the cheapest (considering how often it refreshes/ updates locations), but it is very reliable too. It also gives me check engine light codes, and reminds me when an oil change is due. Finally, it alerts when the speed limit is exceeded, hard stops and fast accelerations, along with alerting to a possible accident. Top notch, can't praise it enough!

Used to be a great app, now slow and laggy, and needs restart if you want the map to load. Some notifications litterally come like half an hour late. I think they are just not spending on servers, map licenses, and their app doesn't scale. They also have the nicest support ever they get to you right away and tell you they will do things no problem, then nothing changes. I end up using life365 app 90% of the time, and I hate that app for many reasons, but at least it gives correct position.

great for info on how fast the driver is going, if they are breaking hard, and where they are located. it even notified me when the battery suddenly was low (the headlights were left on. it was a quick fix that saved the driver from being stranded or needing to be jump started.) I love this device! it is a must have if you have a new driver or if you want the extra help notifying you of potential car problems.

UPDATE: Updating my review. Overall, the hardware and the app for this product work brilliantly. The only functionality I haven't gotten to work yet is 3rd party SMS and emailing a trip report to a 3rd party. Unfortunately, the 3rd party notifications is the prime reason I purchased this product. So I'm out of luck. It does fine with emailing a trip report to myself though. I'm very pleased with the stability of this product over my previous GPS tracker (Automatic). The IFTTT integration is poor at best. Additionally, a function to 'take me back to my car' (walking) would be great. I can do this with several steps in google maps, but an integration capability would be cool. A final note, their customer service is quick to respond to issues raised in reviews and attempt to resolve concerns. I'm impressed overall. This is a much better product than the Vyncs tracker.

I love Bouncie! I have recommended it to several people. Customer service is also great . No phone call, just a little chat. I tried 2 other tracking devices before settling with bouncie. They pale in comparison. Easy to understand. It shows how much fuel the car has & battery level, (which helped me recently) and you can see how fast or slow the vehicle was moving in a specific location. it has many great features. would love update intervals to be at least every 30 seconds. Had @ least 6 mos

Bouncie has more than delivered. They have made the process of purchasing and installation incredibly smooth. The app updates minute by minute. The price is very reasonable for the peace of mind that it brings to help manage my fleet vehicles. What's more is the customer service is outstanding through the app. They respond quickly and implement real fixes if a problem should arise. Being able to look back on the vehicle history has helped streamline logistics for driving routes. Very impressed.

Stupid, slow, almost unusable app! If I view the app and return later without closing it fully first, the app won't load; I have to close it then reopen. Can only see geolocations if the vehicle/s are in motion. When setting geolocations, it would be nice to see the rest of them to avoid overlap and also view satellite imagery. Notification sound annoyingly blasts on phone speaker whether bluetooth or other audio connected or not! FIX IT!!!

Let's just say it does exactly what it says it does,,, My daughter was some place she wasn't supposed to be and this app got me within 1 ftof my car's location.. She didn't even know we were there... Excellent excellent product.... The only thing that I have found wrong with it is that it is sometimes slow Showing driving in progress or exact location of course that could be a signal issue to...

Bought 10 bouncies for Turo, had to cancel due to COVID, come to find out they upgraded them and these can't be reused. They won't replace them either with the new model. What a hoax. If the new one's were coming you should have not charged what you did for the now "out of date" one. I will not recommend this company. They don't charge a lot on monthly fees but charge a lot on the product, then make you have to buy the upgrade. I wish I went with a higher monthly vs high product cost.

If it opened up to a full map it would be helpful. About 85% of time it doesn't do so so, all we know is that the speed was exceeded. UPDATE: even after customer support giving directions on what to do, still won't show full map. It's useless if you can't have map access all the time.

This is a great product. It allows you to keep track of everywhere the vehicle goes, the speed that it traveled, and any hard breaking or acceleration. With the geo-circles feature, you can set areas, such as home, work, school, etc and get alerts when the vehicle arrives or leaves that zone. The geo-circle could also be set much larger, i.e. a city, or state line to see if the vehicle leaves that area. It shows you exactly where the vehicle is parked and will link to Google maps for directions.

I highly recommend this. Customer service is amazing. The device does what it's supposed to do. It hardly ever has any issues. And has even alerted me of battery issues. I had hum from Verizon and let me tell you bouncie is way better. Hum was a joke for me, no alerts, no accuracy with location. I'm glad for bouncie.

Still trying to figure out all the details but almost anything u could want from where ur car is and how fast it's going, down to braking too hard . U can set boundaries and curfews. The list goes on and on. There are alot of safety features. Well put together app

My Version Hum broke within 2nd year. In researching for a better replacement, I found Bouncie to be the best product for my family (having 3 teen drivers). After purchasing the first one, I soon purchased a second, and I'm considering a third. Benefits: 1. Bouncie monthly cost is far cheaper. 2. Bouncie has more features. 3. Better user interface. 4. Bouncie is half the size of Hum, so I no longer bump into it with my legs while driving. I highly recommend it for any parent of young drivers!

Absolutely love this! I installed it on my 17-year-old's car and it literally took one minute to plug in, a few seconds to download the app and type in the code and that was it! It was up and running in a matter of 2 minutes. We can track speed, distances, where she goes, etc. We wanted it for peace of mind and to show our daughter that she needed to slow down in certain areas! I can't tell you enough what a great app and device this is.

Great device and great support. I appreciate the service and recommend it frequently to others with young drivers and fleet vehicles. Great product. It can be a little funky in areas of weak service but that has been infrequent in my experience. I've found it to be very reliable and accurate.

The 'always-connected' data service for $8.00 p/mnth is a decent value. Although some carriers, like T-Mobile, offer low-data device add-on lines for as low as $5.00 p/mnth. I would rate the mobile apps UI/UX as fair. Some information, like ECM fault codes is hard to find. The related website makes it easy to manage trip-related information. Unlike some OBD2 adapters, the Bouncie adapter does NOT interface with 3rd-party applications like Torque. It does offer integration with Alexa and Google Home, although I never set this up. The app/adapter also does NOT provide extended information on or allow you to clear ECM fault codes. For those of use who are interested in both understanding and potentially fixing our own car issues, this is a shame. On the plus side, Bouncie in-app Chat Support is outstanding. The people who support the app are prompt, professional and, limitations of the app and adapter not withstanding, helpful. After more than a year of use, I've pulled the plug (pun intended) on Bouncie and purchased the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner Auto OBD II Diagnostic Scan Tool for iOS & Android on Amazon. It cost $32. It connects though a paired Android or iPhone device, supports Torgue and other 3rd-party OBD2-compatible apps AND via Torgue, supports the extended ECM code diagnosis and clearing functions mentioned previously. I realize, as a do-it-yourself car maintenance person and Geek, I may not be the bullseye for Bouncie's target market. However, it's a shame that the less than optimal app and failure to provide support for 3rd-party apps, hasn't been an upgrade in the last 18 months. I would have gladly paid the $35 I just spent on a replacement, to upgrade to an adapter/app combination from Bouncie, that provided the features I need and a better user experience.

As a parent- the peace of mind Bouncie provides is WELL worth the money. It's not just a very accurate, and timely tracker- but it also told me when my daughter's tire and battery were low. Also- it let's me know when she exceeds the speed limit (and by how much), and when she accelerates too quickly or brakes too hard. All this information has been helpful to improve her driving, and to help us be proactive about potential mechanical issues.

This device is awesome at tracking the vehicles with multiple teenagers driving. I wanted a good reliable device, regardless of monthly fees. I purchased a OBD2 splitter cable, so that the OBD2 appeared normal below the steering wheel, but there was the bouncie device zip tied up high in the dash.

Had them for years. It was decent until they wanted you to pay an $80 upgrade fee to replace soon to be obsolete hardware with no guarantee that they wouldn't raise the subscription fee. Bye.

Using to keep track of an elderly parent who won't take a phone in the car. This gadget & app has reduced a lot of stress. (Until Covid-19 arrived.) This app continues to work great! I'm thrilled that it "just works."

Not a bad app, just missing some info I'd find helpful, something like an "at a glance" dashboard with actual battery voltage displayed, fuel level, whether the vehicle is running or not, how long its been running if it is, etc. Has the potential for a lot of useful info but its organized in such a weird way or hidden in the app ("battery low" thats great but what is the actual voltage?) that its not really useful for me.

it works *perfectly. it does what it should and what it says it will do. i am pleased, and at $8/month for a single vehicle, it is the most affordable option i have seen. quit using whenever you want; no long yearly commitment. * one time the app crashed and i needed to reopen it. one time out of a hundred.
