The app works fine for me, haven't got any issues described in recent reviews. First thing I did was update the firmware (took around 15 min), after that got the option to turn off the wear sensor (px5). App sometimes lags when connecting to headphones after re-connecting Bluetooth. In total the app does what it's supposed to.

The PI7 has premium audio quality & below average software. The bluetooth connectivity is spotty at times. The wear sensor only works with one earpiece out. Once you take both ear pieces out, the headphones start to play, pause, and make my phone spaz out. It stops once I put them back in the case or back in. Ultimately I decided to keep them due to their audio quality, but the software has left me with a lot to be desired. Perhaps a discount on the next updated version would ease the pain.

I've owned 3 pairs of the PI7 earbuds, all of them have given me issues pertaining to the app. They connect to my device without issue, however the app seems to have problems connecting to the buds 9/10 times. I bought these for the incredible sound quality but cannot use then to their full potential without the app function. It's very inconsistent. Worth noting I own many earbuds ranging in price and even the cheapest have consistent app support.

The app doesn't connect half the time, and I can't even set an eq or remap any of the gestures/presses to do anything else. I reckon I'm not the only one who'd like to have the option of toggling the ambient passthru mode instead of the voice assistant. For the price I paid, I expected better.

0* OOPS... Seems like we lost connection to Bowers & Wilkins. Please make sure your product is powered on and near this device. This is the only feature of this application. I tried this app on more phones. Factory reset headphones. Many times to unpar and pair. Half a year ago it still worked but now without a chance. I like my PX7 but maybe it's time for a change B&W NEVER MORE.

The functionality available within the app is good, and easy to use, when, that is, you can get the app to connect to your headphones. Despite the headphones being connected, and music playing through them, the app repeatedly refuses to "find" my headphones. After many failed attempts, I often have to unpair the headphones with the Bluetooth settings, then allow the app to "find" them, before going through the Bluetooth pairing. Useless if you want to make quick adjustments to the headphones.

App looks good but mostly useless. I have to manually connect the app to my PI7 every time. Ambient pass-through turns itself on sometimes when I open the app and it is annoying. And about firmware updates: there's none. I bought a premium Bluetooth earbuds and haven't seen any firmware for half a year. In reciever mode the case loses connection frequently, latency is way too big and I'm getting loud cracking sound in earphones sometimes as if it is adjusting or something.

The fact that you can have two devices simultaneously connected via this app or not is worth at least 6 stars already for B&W PX7. I had few wireless headphones over the years where on some able to have one connection at a time, on some you have to re-pair if you want to change device, but this? Having two devices connected at the same time? Well done B&W.

I have recently received the PI7 headphones and they are really well done. However, the app is just short of perfect IMO. For one, the registration process doesn't mention downloading a second app to input my name in order to complete my registration. I had to reach out to your support to get that cleared out. Two, the app doesn't have an adjustable EQ. Other than that the entire experience is great.

This may be the worst app I've ever used. Navigation is difficult and not intuitive. And it's telling me my headphones need a software update, but then tells me I don't have enough power, even though I'm at 86% and plugged in! And, it doesn't even show up on my list of apps on my Android! I have to open the Play Store, search for the app and hit open. Ugh. After your follow up, I tried again. It won't connect. EVEN THOUGH I AM LISTENING TO THE BLUETOOTH RIGHT NOW!!! Power at 100, phone at 70

This app doesn't do much, but it just works. I can even connect to my headphones and change the ANC settings while connected simultaneously to another device. The only minor issue I've had is that when the battery indicator drops below 30% this actually means the battery is almost at zero, and can be off any time. I should add that happens after at least 18-20 hours.

Absolute garbage. I managed to get my PX headphones added to the app, however it rarely works. I have got it to work once. I much preferred the other app that was specifically for the PX headphones. Cannot recommend. Update: still doesn't work, if anything it has become less reliable at connecting. Luckily the headphones are amazing without the app, but it's still disappointing.

The earbuds sound great, obviously. However my experience with the app and connection has been ABYSMAL for earbuds in this price range. Thee connection randomly cuts out, with my phone and B&W case right next to me causing me to have to hit play/pause. Even worse, after connecting to the app the first time, the buds couldn't connect again, "Oops, for some reason we couldn't connect...". Considering for some reason we need the app to even toggle transparency mode, this is not a good look B&W.

No idea why the reviews are so poor for this app. The interface is neat and easy to use. I easily connected to my new PX5 headphones and updated the software quickly and easily. An equaliser might be nice but I love the sound so haven't had a need. I LOVE that the headphones / app allow me to turn off noise cancelling and keep it off when I power off/on (unlike my old Sony headphones). Only thing I would change is for the app to connect automatically to my headphones when I launch the app.

Absolutely brilliant headphones like all of B&W's products, but the app is very unreliable. I'm not bothered that it's relatively basic in content, but it never connects to the headphones if you're already connected to another app (eg Spotify). You have to close all connected apps, then reopen this one first, and it then connects first time. But shouldn't be this temperamental.

I received my PI7 earbuds and they are fantastic! Pairing with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra was quick and easy without any issues. This application is perfectly fine for what you need it to do and does exactly what it was intended for. Nope I don't need a dark mode option as I am only in the application for less than a minute to make any adjustments. I don't need a graphic equaliser either as I have a built-in one on my phone, also they are so well tuned straight out of the box. Great experience

The app stopped working over 24hrs ago. It will no longer connect to my ear buds. Removed my ear buds as a product on my dashboard hoping it would work if I started the process over. Didn't work. The app was already inconsistent as far as connecting to my ear buds but now it is all bad. Absolutely love the sound of these ear buds but the connectivity issues are pretty rough. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully an update to help with the bugs.

By far the worst application. It doesn't work as intended. No matter what the headset always has an issue with a second device. It's far too slow. Device should connect instantly instead you have to go into the app more often than not to use the head phones The hardware is amazing. The app is horrible. Could also use a few more robust feature sets.

Wil. R. Jul 10, 2021

The app needs work! The headphones are close to perfect! But the app and related software is complete garbage! Yes, it's that bad! I'm still considering returning the headphones because of the fact that the headphones can't control volume or pass through. It's DAMN UNACCEPTABLE at $400.00 a pair! Bluetooth tech like that has been available on Bluetooth wearables for damn near 5 years. Seriously!

Haven't had any problems with this so far; app is easy to use and provides the basic functionality I need without the myriad buggy customizations that comes with other apps (looking at you, Sony). Not sure why reviews are so bad - if you are that desperate to tweak EQ, use one of the many music players that offer as such. Simple is good, and should be much preferable over unneeded, buggy 'features'. Used for the PX7. No connection (initial pairing & while listening) problems so far.

Found and connected to my PX7 headphones easily. Works pretty well. I REALLY wish there was an EQ feature in the app. Please consider adding it. UPDATE: Thank you for the reply to my review. I listened to some nice lossless audio tests that used more traditional music and the PX7s beat out my other headphones. They sounded extraordinary, rich, and the sound stage was as if I was transported to the original performance. Where I'm struggling with the headphones is when I'm listening to electronic dance music. I like to play EDM while working. The quality of the mixes for EDM vary and having an EQ would go a long way. For the sake of my productivity, I'd love an EQ feature. :) Thanks for listening.

PX7 Cans sound great! I don't need any EQ. I however have a massive problem connecting the app to the headphones. Bluetooth sync works and hard buttons as they need to. Connecting the app however just gives me an Ooops.. try again most of the time. Every now and then it manages to connect, it's so annoying. No idea what's wrong here. EDIT, tried the suggestion but its wonky. 5* for good response speed.

Kib. K. Dec 26, 2019

For me they connected immediately. This new app is faster but I prefer the old app just because It was dark. My hope is that the B&W app development team adds a *dark mode* to this new app. As for the headphones, if you're reading this it is imperative that you adjust the EQ settings in your phone. For my Samsung note 10 you would go to Settings> Sounds and Vibrations> Advanced sound settings> Sound quality and effects> Equalizer> Custom. I went with a "w" shape all under the 0dB line.

Getting worse - As the noise cancelling on my PI7s stopped working, I reinstalled the app (which didnt help). It connected to the PI7s but not the PX7s (the phone made a Bluetooth connection without a problem). I am disappointed at the useless boilerplate replies by B&W to what is clearly a major problem with the app (how many 1* reviews does it take to notice something is wrong?) Updated: Havent seen an update, but the app now connects to my PI7's and PX7s flawlessly. Updated: I now have a pair of PI7's. The phone connected to them fine (but they have to be out of the case). Eventually managed to connect the app after several attempts by experimentation. The app is fundamentally flawed (headphones / earbuds are great) Previous update:. Successfully connected PX7s to my phone after a day. (and updated firmware on the headphones) Now does what it is supposed to. (From my experience, and the number of 1* reviews, it's still a bit flaky.) Original Not impressed so far. Set up and paired fine. But won't connect (according to the app - the phone says its connected)
