Bradford MDC

Used the old version quite a bit for various things, including bin collections. Easy to use and responsive. I've installed the new version three times now and it still isn't working properly ! When it loads, most of the tiles have a message telling me that they are unavailable and I should try when I have an internet connection! Which I have had every time! Frustrating is an understatement - why introduce something new that clearly doesn't work a fraction as well as what it replaced???

**REVIEW EDITED FOR FIX BELOW** Since the last update to the app all the tiles are unavailable now and clicking on any of the links gives an "error has occurred" notice. App is useless now whereas it was working fine prior to the update. FIX Someone else said this in their review but if you get the error above and no connection message. Go into settings then apps, find the MDC app and click into it. Then click clear data and cache. Then go back into the app and this should have sorted out issue

Doesn't update like a conventional app, does some unusual update when opened and then restarts. This is both very slow and inconvenient. When I open the app I want to use it immediately not have to wait while it messes about. Notifications rarely work, if ever. I suspect this is poor implementation with Android's power and sleep settings, the least the developer could do it advise the user which sleep settings to manually disable. Most features open a web page, so might as well use a browser.

The app is rubbish have tried to install several times and just keep getting an error message "Saying something went wrong ". This is disappointing as I used the old app all the time to check bin collections and opening times of recycle centres. The old app worked perfect and had everything you needed. Have uninstalled it as it just won't load.

Absolute complete waste of time, doesn't work. Full stop. I loved the old app, there were a few things things not so great about the old app but over all it was very good. Can't get this one to work at all. Why replace a perfectly good app with something that simply does not work. Something that isn't just inferior but is completely useless

Uninstalled the app for the second time due to not receiving the bin notifications. I subscribe to the garden waste collection and really rely on the notifications to remind me. I missed the last collection and rang Bradford Council hoping they could collect on another day that they may be in the area or nearby. The chap I spoke to was really unhelpful and just said don't delete the app and kept repeating it was my responsibility to put my bin out on time as I am well aware! Unreliable app!

Poor at Best This app is supposed to be set up so that the customer receives notifications of services. Despite this my phone being set to receive notifications, (including even in do not disturb mode) it consistently fails to do so. I wouldn't bother downloading this app unless you enjoy mediocrity and unreliability. This app is exactly like the city shows some much promise but consistently fails to deliver!

Notifications haven't worked for the past few months despite being subscribed to them. So no alerts for bin collections, schools, etc etc. Also the feedback form in the App doesn't work, so you can't even report the problem apart from by leaving a bad review. Really, really poor

Absolutely useless app When loading it grabs some files to display tiled options. Nearly always some of the tiles fail to load and a set of messages "Tile unavailable" "Please restart with a network connection" I have a high speed fibre to the cabinet connection and my phone is 1 metre from the hub. So fault must be at your end.

App doesn't load properly so unusable. The old app worked fine! Every tile just says on it "Tile unavailable. Please try restarting with a network connection". Needless to say, there is a network connection! Tapping on any menu item just brings up "An error has occurred".

Refuses to load, the old app was great, push notifications for bin collections, but this new one won't even complete the installation - error of 'something went wrong' which is really helpful. Please get this sorted as it's quite obvious that it's not working!

No great improvement on the old app, not straight forward to install from email, when it could have been. I don't why it can't be upgraded like every other app, but I expect that the council paid over top for someone who didn't have a clue

I have had problems with this app since the last update. I have managed to find a cure. If you go into SETTINGS- APPS - Bradford council app - CLEAR CACHE & STORAGE then re-open the app it should allow you to chose which subscriptions you opt in to. Just like you've downloaded the app for the first time.

I only use the app to check bin dates. Old app saved my address and had this information within the app. New app just sends me to mobile website and I have to enter postcode. Without this feature the app is basically pointless - push notifications are great but often haven't arrived when I'm doing the bin.

Pity there is not an option to give no stars as this app doesn't deserve any. Tiles all say unavailable and you get an error message when you click on them. Says try again when connected to a network when I am clearly connected.

Old app when did waste collection it came up my address. Now I have to input post code and find address every time. Rubbish. OPP worked fine, why change it. Old saying (if it's not broken don't mend it). Whoever did this new was useless or had too much time on their hands.

I only use the app to check bin collections 3 bins so need to know when to put out. Old app gave day and date of next collection very useful. New app just gives a list of dates for 3 month period so you have to work it out yourself when the next collection is. a backward step if you ask me ie it's harder to use should be the same or better . Can't comment on other functions as don't use them but if it's all the same as this then it's a total waste I would like the old app back please

Absolutely rubbish. The old app sent reminders of bin collection. This one doesn't. Tried signing in numerous occasions but my details don't seem to be there?? Can't always get on website because of error on their end

Can no longer log into my account to report fly tipping etc. It was working just fine until last week! Tried saying I've forgotten password but no use. HELP!

******App fix details******* Bit disappointed with some peoples comments that app doesn't work. anyone tried emailing the web team?? If you had you find out there is a fix!!! Anyway off my soap box and see the below:- 1. Go to phone settings 2. Select Apps 3. Search for the Bradford app and select it 4. Select storage 5. Clear Cache and Clear data. 6. Try to open the app again I did it and the app then worked for me.

Poorly designed app The old version had differnt ways to pay your council tax and this one just takes you to another web page to register with login details and than perform the payment or view the balance. Not very satisfying as it is double the work

Once again, after an update, I get NO push notifications. I have tried clearing data and cache, reinstalling, nothing helps. The app is useless to me now!

This app is hopeless, in spite of trying a number of times to install the app it simply refuses to load. It, sadly, keeps telling me that something has gone wrong, I am well aware that something has gone wrong.

Please try restarting with network connection is message I keep getting. Follow instructions and still doesnt work, Ive even tried uninstalling and reinstlling

Had the old app which was great! Had to update to this one that doesn't work at all, "oops something went wrong" is all I get. Not at all helpful! Sort it out Bradford MDC!!!

This new app does not even load properly. Bring back the old app - it worked. The replacement is garbage, speaking of which, not even the bin day alerts are reliable now!

App suggests recycling for the planet but doesn't send out notifications of changed collections over Xmas!?. Updates keep screwing the app up, necessitating a reinstall. Have you guys never heard of a change freeze?

Updates every other week, and doesn't tell you until you open the app. Sends no notifications if it needs to update so I miss bin day reminders. Useless.
