Brain hq Pc online version is excellent. This app is buggy and infuriating. I will give specific examples. First of all, the face to face game is a joke, I have multiple screenshots of the "matching" faces demonstrating completely different expressions. Second of all, the game optical flow just does not work. Thirdly, I need to continually tap my phone while playing true North because for some reason my phone goes to sleep while I'm playing the game.
Have the full subscription. The program itself seems like a great product - on the web browser. Some beneficial exercises like rythm recall are not supported on android. In my opinion this cripples the app. Now I have to either stick to using it on my PC or launch the website on a mobile browser. Keep Working BrainHQ! Great potential but a fully functioning app is a must.
I was having fun until I got to this butterfly game where you have to remember butterflies by color. The colors are pale pink, pale purple, and pale blue. I have color-deficient vision, a red-green colorblindness, and the butterfly colors are indiscernable to me. The exercise is unplayable. I had to close the app in frustration. Needs a colorblind mode. EDIT: They have since updated the game and made all of the butterflies more visually distinct via their patterning, as well as color scheme. <3
The exercises are excellent; very effective. One can exercise as you feel and have time; for a few minutes or for an hour a day. One gets out of it what you put in. The app is not yet perfect, but is functional. It has a few bugs. The 5 stars are for the exercises. The app I would rate at 3 stars. You can do the exercises in a browser online. I only use the app. With appreciation to the developers of the exercises! (The developers of the app have work to do.)
See alot of negative reviews, but this app has been pretty cool for me. It requires a certain amount of stars to pass an excersise, then once you obtain that goal, you'll have to do it one more time. I don't see a problem with it, it costs money to subscribe, but it's beneficial I guess. Excersises are numerous, you can set your focus from a numerous set of focuses(ex. Attention, focus, many more)
Great brain training, poor app execution. On PC the challenges work great. On a phone often the app will not download content correctly and an activity requiring audio is silent ('In The Know' & 'True North'). 'Mental map' will sometimes mark you wrong. You get to watch the replay demonstrate why you were right while it shows the stored answer you were graded wrong against. Needs work Posit Science. I'm a software developer, drop me an email if you would like assistance.
App needs work. Doctor recommended website, so downloaded the app. App switches screen direction when it's not normal to do so, then only one way, not the way I prefer. App says my answers are wrong when they were right, and doesn't give me enough time to tap the other side of the screen (I play 1 fingered). Uninstalling and going back to website to train.
Best of all the brain training options for actual results and most activities based on hard science and very well targeted on specific skills. However, one or two of the activities just don't work on a mobile platform eg rhythm recall is hopelessly compromised on a touch screen interface. Devs please admit defeat on this one and get rid of it!
I abosolutely love this app. I have had terrible memory loss, and as part of my healing process, I am using this program. There are so many different levels and ways they have to help you improve your cognition. I know this program has helped me to be able to drive again. It has made me much more aware of sounds around me. It has improved the spatical vision, it is truly training the brain. The 7 DAY FREE trail was enough for me, I bought the program, I have also traveled recently and not used as consistently. I feel I have regressed. I am back.
Generally a good app but some noticeable bugs. Personal trainer doesn't provide enough variety, tends to focus on same type of exercise. Tapping on the progress map to train a particular type doesn't take you to the sctual exercise. The swipe action on optic flow doesn't work properly.
App has issues; The first level is matching colors. When I started the color selection just kept running faster and faster and then it made it's own selections before I could. Ran it twice and it did the same thing.
This app is the best! I'm recovering from a traumatic brain injury and this game is actually therapy- developed by one of the leading scientists in how we actually learn and develop our minds! And yes it does have instructions at the top of every exercise, you watch the instructions and interact with them, not just read them! I can't say enough good about this app and the work of Dr M!!!
The exercises are good... but don't bother downloading, the app keep on crashing, crashing and crashing can't even play the free daily exercises. you will be seriously irritated.so much for a programme which is said to be the best brain programme can't even maintain an app..
This app made a miracle to me I have add and it was almost impossible to drive car I did a driving sessions for 2 and a half months and now I took my lisence and more confident driver thank you sooo much I highly recommend this app it worth every penny it's a life Changing app.
First brain game in the app is a joke. It says to select the highlighted photo from the 9 photos, but you can't see which one is highlighted. None of them are highlighted. Downloaded this on an iPhone. Same issue. Uninstalled
It is a good app for cognitive rehab, but you have to play the same game so many times to move on to the next challenge that it gets really boring and frustrating. I wish they could make it more fun and less like your most hated high school class.
Free to install but nothing is free in the app so you can't try it out to see if you like it. Every exercise leads you to agree to a charge. Also my inbox is now closed with spam after signing up.
Installed this as it came recommended. Was forced to sign up straight away and then found out I couldn't sample let alone play any of the exercises because you have to subscribe for an eye watering amount per month. I'm not sure what part of this the devs thought was acceptable but I'm letting them know it's not by uninstalling 5 minutes after installing. Goodbye!
For the steep price I expect to be able to trial an app to see if I like it before paying a subscription but there is no offer of such. Hence it was a complete waste of my time and I deleted it a few minutes after installing it.
I purchased a 1 year subscription to this program but could not get it unlocked. Contacted their support multiple times, both at website and email. After zero relevant response, asked them to honor 30 day money back assurance. Surprise, no response. Sorry if anyone thinks I'm gave them a star--the system wouldn't let me give ZERO STARS.
You guys should have a lifetime subscription option. I like the idea of paying once and never having to worry if i have the money when its time to renew even if its for 1 year im on a fixed income so i still never know if im going to have the money anything could come up.
Proven Difference Short and Long term, Excellent Development team and responsive customer service. app is very complementary to using brainhq online although I miss the use of a mouse when I use the phone app
I have subscribed to BrainHQ for several years, always using a PC. I am changing to a chromebook and the app just does not work effectively.
It's well science-based , and I noticed the results on myself within a short period of time!. Great application, keep it up.
Stuck on downloading exercise level. It's really frustrating not being able to use this app because it gets stuck on downloading an exercise level.
Perhaps I'm not being fair, but compared to Elevate and Lumosity, this game is terrible. With the free version, you can only play one game once daily; hardly enough to figure out if the paid version is worth it. Regarding having to pay, the graphics are really weak. Additionally, some games do not play properly acording to instructions (as noted in other reviews) which adds even more frustration. This really could use improvement if it wants to keep up with it's competitors.
