Love this app! As of the time I'm writing this, in having issues with tapping certain things and not being able to interact with them. For example- when I pass about half of the Google images that I searched, it won't let me tap to open the images to see them. I also can't see the Movies & TV shows tab on actresses or actors tabs. It's not registering my touch in certain areas of the browser. I have a S22. No issues.
This is a great app for viewing the web without all the annoying pop-ups and ads, especially on blog pages. However, like several other reviewers, I am also having issues with Google images. First few images view fine, then can't click on any more images to view/zoom. This issue is also happening in a similar manner on the Windows desktop version.
I like this browser overall. Would prefer more than 4 saved pages on a new tab. Maybe that's here, but after several times looking, I still can't find that, unless it's adding multiple pages to a home page, which I have not done. Brave opens pages fast, has good control over tabs in a group, and responds well. It also keeps ads to a minimum. I would certainly recommend Brave as either a primary or a secondary browser, depending on you.
Recently I've been having issues where I'm unable to click on images in Google image search! It's a small thing, but enough of a bother that it's getting in the way, as I save images a lot, and would rather not click through to the link of every one. Otherwise the app has been lovely aside from an occasional bug where the ui will disappear entirely, but that fixes itself when you exit and reenter.
Brave is great. Been using for years with no issues. I really don't use Chrome much anymore on my phone and when I do I'm deluged by ads and think "this is no way to live". It would be nice if the night mode toggle was on the top menu (where the bookmarks list is) so you don't have to drill down into the settings page to turn it on and off as I like white in the day and black at night.
I've been using this browser for about 3 years and it has been a game changer for me when wanting to avoid annoying ads on YouTube and web pages in general. The only issues I've had are that some local searches turn up weird results like if I want to find the nearest gas station and some online banking doesn't work. Also, no maps :( For those who want to keep their Bat, you about have to get an Uphold wallet. This is an amazing browser and if it weren't for those few flaws I'd give it 5 stars.
Developes, as you should be already aware there's stuff that doesn't work. A lot of stuff you can't tap. When you search stuff like an actor you can't tap the buttons next to overview like Movies, Shows, News (about them); you can't tap the images that show up. While I'm talking about Google images, after scrolling for a while, most of the images become untapable. How long does it take to fix these?
Used to be great. Now it is buggy. Image viewing pop-up stopped working. Having problems with pages not rendering and unable to click links. The issues appear in both the android and windows versions of Brave. Other browsers are not having these problems. So this isn't isolated to just one device. This is a core engine issue with Brave. I would prefer to use Brave, but have to resort to using other browsers. Looking forward to the developers fixing the problems.
This is honestly one of the best Web browsers in the app store. I like the privacy nad blocking of ads and I also like the features that were added (especially the night mode). This has some problems though and it's that sometimes it can get clunky and laggy, well at least for me but it's not too often that I would be angry. Otherwise, a pretty good app. Would recommend.
Great app! It has a built-in ad blocker which is an extremely handy feature, the GUI is well made. Although I am giving it a 4 stars because sometimes, it takes a bit long for a search just to be done and with the latest update, you can't click to images (ex: Search the image your looking for, click image, then click the images underneath or that recommends it) I am very sorry if my grammar is horrible as English is not my 1st language but hopefully the idea gets through! Best regards!
I really appreciate their philosophy and the effort they have invested to build this tracking-less browser, but unfortunately it is often a frustrating experience: too many bugs (most notably the missing text selection dialog and randomly undismissible notification dialogs). Due to the uncertainty this causes, I still find myself switching to Chrome on a daily basis. But I am sticking with Brave for now, because I do believe in their cause.
After the latest update, some websites aren't working properly. In Google Images if you tap to enable dark theme at the bottom, nothing happens. Also can't tap to view images after the 7th or so image. Other sites like DeviantArt also quite buggy. I've tried to replicate the problems on Chrome but it doesn't happen so it probably is a problem on Brave. Hopefully a fix for the bug can be found ASAP.
The browser is alright - does what it is supposed to, mostly at least. It's chromium-based, privacy-focused, stable, and fast (whatever that means). One quibble - the description specifically lists that a Firewall and VPN is available but it isn't anywhere to be found (BECAUSE IT DOESN'T EXIST). Would normally have rated 4 or 5 stars, but rated 3 because of the specific lie.
Brave has been my preferred browser for years but just recently it stopped functioning properly. It no longer has the ability to automatically clear all history and cache when you exit. It says it does, but when you reopen the app all your previous pages are there as favorites now. No matter what settings you use. You can't delete your history anymore.
I've used the PC version for some years, and installed it on my Android phone automatically. I'm not a power user, and don't even understand some of the other reviewers problems (!) but I have no reservations at all in using it. It's great to be able to open Google pages with Brave, and see only the content with gaps labelled Advertisement, and be able to save this version to the home screen.
A complete uninstall-reinstall seems to have fixed the glitched address bar, and the app feels a bit more responsive, too. How incremental updates can break an app this much in 2022 is beyond me. Still can't hide the widget about blocked ads on the new tab page. You don't have to upsell the app to me, I'm already using it. Also, this tab switcher layout was one of the main reasons I made the switch from Chrome. It's really inconvenient and bad. Please make the previous one at least optional.
Decent enough, ad blocker works well, even on YouTube. The simplified/ reader mode is incredibly unreliable, though. I don't understand why there isn't a simple way to turn it on, instead of a pop-up that times out so you can't change your mind. That's almost as annoying as the ads.
After using this for 2 years, and turning off the tab grouping defaults (that shouldn't be default), I'm able to use this like the desktop version easily. Syncing my devices with QR or string-of-words is both interesting and a bit annoying. I wish there was something easier to sync desktop to desktop. [Edit] currently, I can't turn off top sites/recently viewed pages on my new tab page. This is the opposite of privacy driven, if I can't even gude my recent views from people next to me in public
Google integration seems to somewhat broken. I have two Google accounts, and it kept initially showing me add not signed into Google. I could pick an account manually, but it wouldn't remember. I had to log out of one for it to start remembering. Also, Google Images search doesn't want to bring up images when you click on them. If it does bring it to, clicking X to go back to the images takes you back to Google. This just recently starting happening. It happens both in Android and Windows.
Mike, Moto e5 plus running Android 8 (22/05/22) This is pretty good. On opening it's the ugliest browser I've ever used because of it's hideous home page setup. It's auto fill, save passwords, payment options settings etc. are all set to ON by default, so spend the first 10 minutes in the settings changing the way it works, change the way it looks by turning off most of it's features in 'Appearance setting'. Turn off News tab for better security. After that, it's fast, blocks ads and is good.
I don't like the new visual changes. For me, one of the points in favor of this browser was its aesthetics. The images on the homepage helped to relax the eyes. The new system of irremovable tiles and continuous foreground reminder of the browser's achievements has ruined it.
I'm surprised at how quickly this browser loads web pages. It doesn't drain the battery and I like all of the customizations. It's also good that it works with my password manager as well. The only problem is trying to read Google reviews. No matter how much I tap onto Reviews, it won't load them. I have to enable Chrome so I can read them.
Just downloaded and the first thing I notice is that it claims to be 8 times faster than other browsers. I dont know what browser they tested against, but it seems slower than google or even bing. Pretty cool how I can earn points that can be "converted" into "money" (in quotations because you cant send it to PayPal as far as my knowledge goes) its overall ok
I have been using Brave browser for 8+ months on both desktop and android and I would never go back to mainstream browsers like Chrome or Firefox. Brave browser is a very capable and UI friendly browser imo. The only thing I would like to see improved would be better search results/functionality but I do notice improvements all the time in this area. Of course, earning BAT for using Brave browser is a great feature too. Keep up the good work ππ»
Very good browser. Thanks for making this. I want some more options to manage/organize lots of tabs more efficiently, features like the ability to change fonts, font size, backgrounds, read mode etc. Options panel items can be organized in tiles. It needs more themes especially transparent ones. transparency control feature can be added for better user interface.
I like the browser itself, but don't expect to make any $ by watching the ads. When I first started using brave, I watched every ad available. Once I hit a little over $20, the ads stopped. I Haven't seen one in at least 8 months so I completely forgot about brave rewards. I just thought of it out of the blue and went to check and it somehow reset. I lost every cent which is annoying and pretty shady, so that's why I'm only giving 2 stars even though the browser is π.
I spent a lot of time, as do many people, idly surfing or doing quick research on my phone. More often than not, due to the shocking number of invasive and distracting ads placed on mobile sites, I find myself defaulting to the Brave browser. When I am trying to get something accomplished, this is often the best route for me to go. Unfortunately, I have never had much luck with the sync feature, my other devices tend to randomly disappear from the chain, not a huge deal.
