Brewing Assistant Free
The Brewing Assistant will also synchronize your recipes to the Brewology101.com Ale Abacus where you can then edit and delete your recipes or create new recipes. With the ability to sync your recipes to Brewology101.com, you can share your recipes with your friends, family, or the entire internet. It also allows you to backup all your recipes and transfer them to the other Android and iOS devices.
To import your recipes into the Brewing Assistant from BeerXML, please import the recipes on Brewology101.com. Then to get the recipes to the Brewing Assistant, all you have to do is perform a sync. No need to manually enter all your recipes into your phone or tablet.
Once you're ready to brew, the Brewing Assistant will help you with your mash and your boil. The mash reminder will alert you to stir your mash at the interval you set in the Settings. The boil reminder will alert you to add your ingredients at the times you specified in your recipe.
The Brewing Assistant is just the help you need for making your homebrew a success.

I've been using this FREE brewing app to build recipes since 2011. It's not as accessible as the paid ones but I use it for getting an idea of Specific/Original Gravity(OG/SG). It has a fairly large list of fermentables. When in doubt, add an extra pound or two of base malt or give it a slightly lower % on brewhouse efficiency. This way if you don't extract as much sugars as desired, the losses will be negligible,( barely affecting the desired ABV.) Highly Recommended
Just started using this app and I think the calculations are closer to the results when brewing is completed. I like how it shows the percentage of the grain bill. Not for someone new who wants to browse lists of ingredients.
Easy to use. Most grains, hops, yeast are preloaded. The calculators are accurate. Geat tool. Like having an assistant.
Really good brewing app. I did lose a few recipes once, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. Just remember to log recipes on paper as a back up.
The App needs more choices. When I'm building a recipe quite often what I'm using is not in the drop down. I'd like to have everything I'm looking for available.
A great app that I use to develop, record and store my recipes. However it sometimes has issues dowloading recipes i developed on the website.

Functions good I like the brew timer. would like to see app sinc. With iphone. Also print recipe would be nice.

Navigating field to field it's slow to respond. Biggest issue is that this app deleted two recipes from my list. All I did was sync between site and app and boom 2 got deleted. Funny thing is if you go to the site and sort by brewer's it says I have 6 brews but my app shows only 5. Edit as of 2 yrs later, app has gotten faster and haven't had any more apps deleted. Great free app
I've been a professional brewer for 16 years now and love this app. It's a breeze to use and I love having my recipe in my pocket while I'm walking around brewing. I still use pro mash for the more serious details but having this app is well worth it. I would give it 5 stars but they took political sides with their ads. I don't like that stuff being pushed in my face. No thanks
The app was too constrained for me, it didn't have my type of mash and I found it very difficult to add stuff in. I started to log the boiling time and stuff, and it just put up an alarm clock. I couldn't finish my log.
Typically I only use it for building a recipe at the brewery store. I use ProMash at home, both for building a recipe and on brew day, so I really use this app as just a portable recipe calculator. The ingredient database covers most of the makes and hops I use, but obviously doesn't have everything. It's all easy to edit, though, which makes it very customizeable. Without buying real brewing software, I would probably get a lot more out of this app. Short version: if you don't want to buy professional style brewing software, this app is pretty damn useful.
I use the free version to tinker with recipe ideas on the road to be manipulated with other software later. Has good lists but is missing a few ingredients I use and the free version does not save any ingredients I put in. Again BEST free app.
Great application to keep you on target. This, coupled with few calculators makes a brew day fun instead of full of math..
Every time my screen flipped it'd reset my timers. Really troublesome when depending on it to add your hops.
This app is far the best homebrew app. Everything from timers to SG and FG calculator. Highly suggest this to anyone that homebrew's
Great portable recipe bank for your phone. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles but a great tool.
Disappointing - don't pay, they'll shaft you After using this for years, my login suddenly stopped working - cutting me off from years of saved recipes. Pretty rubbish that they give you access and then cut you off with no notification. But then, it is a pretty basic app... maybe time to switch to something more modern. With more respect for their PAYING customers!
