This is a great voip app. Works perfect with FreePBX using TLS and SRTP. The push notifications are great. All my phone calls get pushed to the phone without issue. Highly recommended for $10 a year!
I am evaluating Bria VOIP for our company. It looks mostly good I can almost say excellent. I would even like to give it 5 stars, but there is one issue that seems to be surprisingly badly solved, or I have just wrongly configured it. My issue is, it appears to be very complicated and cumbersome to pick up incoming calls. My phone is ringing but I don't have a clear button that says pick up this call. The only way that I have found till now, is to go to the status bar of the Android Phone (Samsung Note 8) and pick up the call there. I almost can not believe that it is so badly implemented. It is most likely an issue of my configuration. Advice is very much welcome on this issue. By the way, the feature to record calls is excellent. That is one of the features that makes me place more VOIP calls in the future! Best regards Georg
I do really appreciate this app and can absolutely justify the cost. However, It is frustrating that when you select to call record, it omits a large beeping noise for the person on the other end and still happens if you select to record every call in the settings. It causes confusion every single time without fail. Also, I work from home with reliable internet connection, yet too often I am notified by my work that I have missed a call, but the app did not ring even if I have the app open.
I downloaded the product, paying a monthly fee, only to find that it didn't work. After several sessions with support, who recommended a few different options, nothing worked. They blamed my setup, my server, and everything except their product. The product does not stay connected to the server in background and the push application simply does not work, no matter which way you set it up. It dies after a few minutes. The competitive product is free and works flawlessly!
The app does not work anymore. I have tried to submit a ticket on the website (mobile version) and I get "restricted access". When trying to create an account, similar problem. Something else this counterpath The app does not dial out and the few calls that go through, I cannot hear any voice coming through. I got the automatic message "could you hear the person on the other line if not we will try to fix it", I pressed it and didn't do anything. P.s. Ive updated and reinstalled. Any ideas?
sometimes it works and sometines it doesnt. i need to be constantly thrning on and turning off my account. it will automatically go into an unregistered state which is frustrating as sometimes it takes forever to come back and be rrady to make or receive calls. i am frequently missing a lot of incoming calls. maybe i have ot set up incorrectly, but when it works it works great!
When the app works is ok, but I've had a horrible experience with it so far. Basically the subscription keeps expiring if you have more than one google account on your device. The support team, after 2 months of not solving the problem, flagged the issue as solved and closed the ticket. Really bad experience and customer support. I don't recommend it to anyone. I expect more from an app that I paid for.
Hi, I am using Samsung note 10+. Since I have updated the application, I can see incoming call ringing but can't pickup. It keep on ringing, it doesn't allow me to pick it up. To accept the call we have to right swap. As i do right swap to pick up the call, it becomes a blank screen and keep on ringing. After it becomes missed call then only I call back. Please fix this issue.
I love the app and use it fanatically. However one glitch in this version 5.x is quite annoying. When you update a contact in your address book, you cannot see this entry later when you browse and search for the address book. But when you receive a call from the same number, the contact name you just saved will appear.
Pretty worthless to me. Counterpath used to be my go to for the soft phone scene. Now they have jumped on the subscription bandwagon. I purchased the mobile soft phone and the pay extra codec's and used it a lot. It was absent from my device for about a year. I go to reinstall and this is all i can find, and you have to pay as you go (so that is money i wasted, i think the app was like $10 and the codec was another $10). I am so tired of subscriptions, i had about 30 of them at one point and am slowly getting rid of them. Give me an application i can pay for up from, fine $20 or $30 for a lifetime of upgrades, without the issues if my credit card expires or whatnot having to manage yet another subscription monthly or yearly. They are doing the same for desktop soft phones, I own Bria 5, but on their site it is "legacy", anything new is again pay as you go. Sigh, time to find a new soft phone, but i am just one customer so my issues are not important.
I am having a problem with the app. I have to always uninstall and reinstall because after awhile it would say subscription expired! I have a one year subscription! I emailed, but no response yet. - second review based on experience ----- I'm always experiencing 480 - service unavailable error. Cannot make outbound calls. No help available for this error. I signed up for one year. - my first review
Good app, imperfect: the iOS version works better as in reliability it will work in background (enabled in settings everywhere). Also I don't particularly appreciate the service: happier to spend a one off and only pay for the service should I actually wish to use Bria's push service - which I don't see necessary for my use case. Long time CSipSimple user, all the more unhappy to need to pay for something that can be free. Having multiple devices it could (but does not) allow sharing of configs
Only minor issue is when the app times out and it's necessary to reconnect the account otherwise no complaints
Clear case of if it ain't broke don't fix it - this app worked fine under the previous version for Android then after the update it stopped. None of the settings were copied from the old installation so everything has to be re-entered manually. Menu options are not the same but no guidance on this what-so-ever. They have no phone support so you have to waste your valuable time receiving useless information via email that does not solve the problem. After 2 weeks of useless suggestions of how to set up the phone I gave up. It's not a free app - it was paid for - the least they can do is provide an emergency phone call to walk through the steps. Would never recommend this company or app to anyone.
Once the app is setup with a Telviva account, there is a 3 second delay with incoming calls between the hard phone and the app. Although there is a look customization option, there are no pre set themes. Do you know how long it takes and how tedious it is to change one aspect of the look at a time??? There's no dark mode!
Very good UI and sound but I couldn't receive calls from inbound root (Asterisk IPPBX), I could receive direct calls from extentions though. I also couldn't use the push service as my communication with the Asterisk established through local ip so the server of the push service couldn't connect with my IPPBX (this is a correct behavior, not a problem of the app). A minor issue is also the contact list, when I sorted it with "Last name" (for both settings) the list had not been correct sorted.
Such a shame that Counterpath have gone over to a subscription service. Their previous app worked well with my various VoIP accounts but reinstalling has lead to the old version not working at all. Why anyone would want to pay a subscription to a VoIP trucking provider and for a client I have no idea. My suggestion is find a voip provider that has their own native app or look at ZoiPer premium. Its configuration just works, it sets up encrypted connections with ease and my experience is great.
Long time ago, this app had one time purchase for each individual premium features like HD codec, text message etc. Since then, they changed to subscription base. As a returning user, my previous purchase no longer being honored. Rated 1 star taking my money and not deliever what they have promised.
I use this with my VoIP.ms account and I'm really happy with it. Now I have my Canadian number and Canadian texts on my USA phone and it's seamless. Very well done. Calls are clear, texting is quick. I'm sure I don't use all the possible features but this is a great softphone.
I pay for the monthly subscription and the app keeps trying to register. And when I am able to connect to it and on a call it logs out and leaving the call open. This is making my job very difficult. I used to count on this app for work and now I can't count on it. Is always saying "registration failed".
had many problems with back in Feb. IT started working better suddenly. For about 2 months. Even perfectly Now it's not working again. Gradually worse all the time. I dial the number. After I put my code in i don't get the second beep. It works on and off. but gradually less.
It's great app to make calls. You can also save contact list or choose from your phone contact list. I wish, however, it showed the history of calls (date, time, duration) rather than just listing it.
This application does not function with the answer / hang up button on any Bluetooth headset I've ever tried with it. Rather than the button answering or hanging up the call, it toggles between the Bluetooth headset or the internal device speaker. Completely useless. And pathetic for a paid application
Once i updated my oneplus 9pro to new Os 12. Since that the app is not working properly. Its automatically closing.
The app won't stay active and running in the background or something to allow me to receive calls even when the app is not open and running, please help how do I keep it open, currently when the app is no longer the focus then I get deregistered from the server and mods calls as a result, I would think this would be a basic feature...
Hello I'm not receiving incoming calls nor push notifications from bria. I have switched between "standard, continuous, single device emulation, and single device take over" to no avail. I can call out fine, but incoming, and push, are a conundrum for me. I'm having to rely on zoiper pro for my incoming/push services now; I do have multiple registration allowed by my provider. And I have allowed my device to not kill Bria while running in background and to ignore battery optimization still nada
I have tried other free Voip intrfaces such as Linphone and Zoiper but have never been able to successfully use them with my SIP accounts. Bria works like a charm, it's worth every penny. Great Voip Interface!!!
