I have purchased and been using this app since 2016. I have tried over 12 different Softphones for android and windows 10. This app and the desktop version are worth the price in terms of Stability, ease of use, extremely high sound quality, performance and Business class ready. Technical support are quick to respond with human readable solutions that even a novice user can follow! I use VoIP.ms to get my phone numbers and Bria works fantastically well with them.
Sont understand why this app worked ok then stopped. Ober the year i expevted it fixed but its depreciated now and not updated or fixed. It appears to be replaced with new versions. How can you expect me to purchase the new version when on paid for premium features on this app. then you broke the app on my phone and left me with paid garbage.
A very useful app, but since a while android claims every day, that Bria uses too much battery and should be uninstalled. If this is not fixed soon, I have to switch to another app.
Purchased this application in 2012. Now I am blackmailed to get into monthly subscription. Thiefs,
On 'Nokia 7 plus': 1. When a call is received, although the settings for Incoming Call in Preferences are set to Play Ringtone and to Vibrate, the Bria application pops up on the screen but the phone does not ring, neither vibrates. When I update those settings, the first time it receives a call, it rings and vibrates but not anymore for all calls afterwards. 2. If Bria is running, when I try to record a video in single mode with the default Camera application, it fails to record. How to fix?
No longer maintained, and has had bugs on and off throughout it's supported life. Now the ringer follows media volume instead of ringer volume so you don't hear it ring when the screen is locked if your media is turned down. New version they want the "subscription" model, which I won't be buying. Have made numerous purchases from these guys over they years, but I'm done now. Will use another SIP client.
Great when it works. But keeps closing down and doesn't stay running into he background. I keep missing calls because it's not open despite actually having opened it.
Now running this on my Acer Liquid Z630 (nexus died) and it works a treat, but it's time (yet again) to get a new phone. Of course this app will be installed. I only wish that the text messaging system was a little easier to set up, but once done it's fantastic.
The app crashes every time I try to play a recorded call. Also the app drains the battery quickly. Unfortunately I don't have the option for push service in the settings of my app as advised in the comment to my review.
"Start at boot " enabled but fails even if battery saving is disabled in Huawei and Xiaomi mobiles.
end-of-life and they're apparently going to make it so the app is disabled and doesn't work after May 1st or something. So after 10+yrs of Bria on PC -- I've moved over to ZoiPer for Android and will do that for Linux too. Subscription? No thank you.
Excellent app, it lacks only push notifications to save battery.
Much better than their new subscription app. This app was a one time purchase.
Can't use on wifi, it keeps disconnecting!
Super...... i purchased this and i dont hope that you discontinue this product and have to buy SOLO .... i even upgraded codec with this app....can you not make a smooth upgrade so that i not loose the feature with bria solo?
One of best sip client
Upto one year no any update. What is the reason?
This application Hogan's the default applications even if you have your cell set to use another app instead. Anytime I try to use Google Assistant to make a call, Bria intercepts it. Any time I try to record a video, Bria intercepts it (not even video calling, just videos)
Works perfectly as a SIP phone, but my battery is drained rapidly even after following common suggestions. I increased the registration and keep alive intervals to reduce network traffic and use TCP rather than UDP to connect to providers. Nonetheless, my battery is consumed by midday! Too bad, because the features are excellent.
I would give Bria for Android 4 stars except for one missing feature: we cannot put pauses in when calling into our voice mail. This works without problems in Bria for Windows. After discussing with tech support, I was told that adding pauses is not supported in Bria for Android and is not on the development roadmap. Back in the ancient days of computing (late 80's and early 90's), I was able to use commas to add pauses into my modem call string and dial out of hotels. So I don't understand why Bria for Android doesn't support this functionality!
Great app! Love the QoS options!! The DSCP tags work very well with my Unifi-AP-AC. Audio quality is much better than Zoiper. Was a long time user of Zoiper but audio sampling quality and echo cancellation on my OnePlus 2 went downhill with subsequent versions of Zoiper. Bria sounds great both on the sending and receiving stream from my OnePlus2. Only wish the audio processing delay could be shaved a bit. Exposing jitter buffer settings and packetization time would be helpful too. Looking forward to video in a future release.
Battery hasn't been an issue on Pixel XL but it interferes with normal phone use... Keeps popping up to foreground when a mobile call is made/received.
Long time user of this app, and always found it well written. Recently though, it stopped being able to run in the background, where you used to be able to close it (without exiting or signing out) and still receive calls. Now, unless the app is actively running, calls are not received. I have also noticed a confusing missed calls indicator, when you answer a call on your desk phone or pc-based Bria softphone, it still shows as a missed call in the smartphone Bria app.
This is a good app for VOIP. The dial by name option is a welcome update. The only issue that I have with it is sometimes it is slow to ring. Sometimes other phones on the same call group will ring multiple times before the Bria app rings once.
Bluetooth not working on Note5 with Nougat. Bluetooth has been an issue for over four years with condescending answers from support staff. Grandstream Wave, a FREE app, is able to offer Bluetooth support . Not sure why I pay for a premium app that simply doesn't support an essential function.
I love this app, and I bought Codecs for this app. It's now a subscription model wont let me just buy the app which I dont think is fair. The version I bought is (now) full of bugs, and hasn't been updated. Love how a developer can just forget about an app. I didn't even get an email saying hey thanks for supporting us, first year is on us to move over to subscription. I will be posting the same review on the new app after I download it because its unfair that I paid 11.99 CAD for an app that is now defunkt, and only increasing in bugs as new android versions come out. My WhatsApp mic doesn't work now because Bria hijacks it. I really thought they grandfathered us into the new version for the money we paid but I guess not we were forgotten.
