AI for play is decent. Bidding system is limited because there is no customization of conventions, which forces me to follow the AI's lead. A solid bridge app needs to allow customization of conventions to cater to different skill levels and preferences. If this app can implement this, it will deserve a higher score.
Played at a low level it is good, but difficult to control speed which removes a degree of realism and can be off-putting for less experienced players.
I appreciate the balance of adds to game play, yes adds after each round, but they are short. And in exchange there are unlimited hints to help learn and enhance game play. Strong AI play too.
Love bridge! Neural generally can't be finessed, and goes into winning streaks but, an Excellent bridge game. Love the hints, and the replays are very educational and helpful...
This is a tough game to learn. Taking hints on every bid helps, but I'm not confident the AI always plays tricks in the optimal manner. Still learning, based on a Euchre foundation of knowledge.
Good app, I play it a lot. My only negative comment is that there is no listing of the complete bidding model. The most you can get is detailed advice on a specific bid along with reasons why all other bids are not appropriate.
Loving the many options to 'cheat' so I can learn the game faster. This is my first time learning this and playing beats reading a book every time.
Frustrating! Doesn't seem to bid logically. For example, just had a hand where partner had 5 clubs and only 10hcp, yet it went straight to 3 clubs! Why?
Pretty good bridge game, the bots have their occasional hiccups, but that's normal. The other weird thing is that the natural system is played with 13-20 opening instead of the usual (11)12-19
A simple bridge game but always makes you think. Good for helping your skills, understanding bidding and playing to win a rubber. Not taking chances
Pretty good for practice. Some of the suggested bids are a little off in my opinion - however I suppose people have different conventions.
Helpful for learning biding conventions, however the AI is terrible playing on defense such as not returning partners (your) lead suit, playing high when ducking is called for, etc. It's best for leaning to bid, what the options are and what each bid means, but it's not intuitive at actually paying the hands, and in my experience actually emphasizes the wrong way to play, so I took 2 stars off.
Fun to play and you can touch a bid to see what the bid means. You can also start a hand over either with bidding again or just replay card play.
Tried them all and this is the best. Love the unobtrusive way hints can be set to suggest after I've made my choice, and I can ignore it. Very useful having the option to have my call explained as the convention needs to be learned (though, to be fair, most people I play only know the basics). My bidding and play has improved considerable. Also because you're playing against another table (computer), if you go down you can see how well your actually performed.
Game play is good. Bid hints are helpful and explanatory. I like the play of the hand more than some other games.
I have been playing it for many years now and like this program better than others that I have used. Yes it is addictive as any other games may be .
Really strong bridge app. Explains the conventions it's using, plays smoothly. My two quibbles: 1) app doesn't remember my "don't show this again" choices about tips in between play sessions, and 2) wish I could reorient dummy's hand to match my hand, as far as high to low. A bit disorienting as is. But great game overall. (Edit - developer says they're working on the first, and that UI settings fix the second. I see an advanced UI setting for sorting South's hand, but not for sorting North's hand low to high; it's always high to low, which is a little odd to me. But again, great game, nice of the developers to reach out.)
My only complaint is the bidding system seems a little outdated. Could maybe use the ability to customize bidding conventions
Love the control over bidding strategies and hinting levels, and gameplay is excellent for the average player. UPDATE: Three years later, still playing, no reason to change my review. One small suggestion: ability to export/save the statistics would be perfect to enable continuity when changing the phone.
Great game. Partner sometimes inconsistent. I play it so much I have to give 5 stars.
Very tough to beat the computer. Seems it has better hands that's ok you learn more.
Was good... But the latest aggressive ads render in a way that you can't close them.
Excellent app. Almost like playing with professional players. Clean and well designed
Overall it is a very good game. However, with the the default settings east/west get 80% of the cards. Over several days, I have had very few hands to bid. I mostly pass. It doesn't seem very random. For that reason I am thinking about removing it!! Update: I tried it again but ended up removing it. There is an ad after every hand which is annoying. Also North's bidding is poor. It opens hands without any playing tricks and is very very conservative. It's defense ignores my signals.
Update 12/13/19. I just uninstalled this app. Don't know what happened to the app, but it now won't open on my tablet. Worked yesterday, not today. Runs very slow when it's computer's turn to play. While the play is programmed better than a lot of computer bridge apps, sometimes the computer will make a really weird bid. Also I don't think the hands are dealt randomly as stated. I've been playing bridge a very long time so I've seen a lot of random hands! This app is ok but not great!
Definitely one of the best bridge apps. Interface is good. Generally the play is also sensible, which isn't an easy thing to achieve. One request to the developers: When playing rubber bridge, the bidding algorithm doesn't take any account of the score below the line. For instance it will bid 3NT when 1NT is all that's needed for game. Please could some kind of check be added?
Quite a good program with plenty of options for different bidding styles and conventions. The rubber or duplicate options are also good. There are some stupid things ... like leading from a short suit in no trumps. When playing duplicate the opposition sometimes get a trick total that I can't figure out no matter how hard I try ... and when I get it to auto play the hand it also can't win that number of tricks! It's one of the better free programs that I have found. Worth a try.
This is a good app for beginners and intermediate players. I like the feature of being able to reolay a hand to see how bidding or offense could be improved. Defense is hard to get right, but the developers have done a good job. Your partner is consistent, but wooden. I don't observe this improving after plqying a lot of hands, so unclear what the neural net is for.
