Bridge Card Game free for beginners no wifi

How to play the bridge card game.

The goal of Bridge is to be the team at the end of the match with the most total points. The match (called a rubber) ends when a team wins 2 games. A game is won by getting a "contract" score of 100 or more points over several deals if necessary.

Goals of Bidding
At the beginning of a deal, you must state the number of "tricks" you think your team can win with a specific "trump suit". A bid includes a number (1-7) and a trump suit (or no trump, NT). The team that makes the final bid must win at least that number of tricks plus 6. The final highest bid is known as the "contract".

Bidding Process
Each player can either bid or pass when it's their turn. Alternately, each player could double their opponents most recent bid. The opponents' team can then redouble the bid. Under double or redouble, that game rewards double or quadruple points respectively. The bidding ends when 3 players in a row pass. The player that makes the first bid of the trump suit is called the "declarer".

Gameplay

The player to the declarer's left chooses a card from their hand to lead the first trick. After that, the declarer's partner's hand is placed on the table (called the "dummy hand") and is played by the declarer for the remainder of the deal.
Each player must follow the suit of the lead if they are able, otherwise they can play any other suit, including the trump. The trick is won by the highest trump, or if no trumps were played by the highest card of the lead suit. The winner of each trick leads the next trick.

Scoring
The declarer's team gains contract points if they fulfill the contract. Overtrick points are assigned for each trick that was taken above the contract's stated number. Undertrick points are awarded to the declarer's opposing team if the declarer's team does not fulfill the contract. Contract, Over and Under points are further increased for a doubled or redoubled contract.

Base contract scoring for each is as follows. If trumps are clubs or diamonds: 20 per trick. If trumps are hearts or spades: 30 per trick. If Notrump(NT): 40 for the first trick and 30 for each subsequent trick.

After a team scores 100 or more contract points the game is complete and the next game starts. Extra points are awarded for winning a small slam (12 tricks) or a grand slam (13 tricks). Honors points are given for starting the deal with the top 4 or 5 trumps (A K Q J 10).

I am upgrading my review from one star to five! The reason is that they changed the look of the bidding board. The cards used to be so tiny and close together that it was very difficult to click on the right card. How many times I lost a hand because I accidentally touched the wrong card. They have fixed this and now it is really a super bridge app! Now if they can give me a partner that isn't an idiot, I'll be all set 🤣

Very beautiful game with excellent user interface, what I like about it is the available tutorial for a beginner like me

It's difficult to concentrate on a game when there's a 30 second commercial in between every hand. Very distracting. Plus, you're too predictable. You should have different levels of competition, from easy to difficult. Novice to Master.

Used to really like this app. Then in the last wéek ads after hand almost getting very anoying and distracting. Be better just to have to watch one ad every game. I do not know how much longeri am going to keep playing on this app because 9f too many ads.

I'm new to bridge. The game is fun. Still learning how to bid my hand and understand my partner's bid. I have accidentally tapped the wrong card, which makes trust game more challenging. A card played is a card played.

Good way to practice the play of the game. Bidding is sometimes frustrating. The computer doesn't seem to follow standard convention all of the time.

Reasonable app. The "partner" you are playing with does not always make the bids you might expect which can win or lose you games a bit randomly sometimes.

They keep changing the interface and making it worse. The icons are smaller and smaller. Make them bigger. Get rid of Them and US. Keep north south east and west. Really hate all the constant changes. I hate the changes to the bidding grid. Go back to how it was before with NT at the right not at the bottom! Too bad. It was much better before.

The adds became more agressive, I also don't like the new design.

The cards need to be spaced further apart as it is to easy to hit the card next to the one you meant particularly in sequence eg KJ953 (hit the 9 or K instead of the J). Also the BOARD SQUARES need to be larger as after a 1H bid I hit 3H instead of 2H whereupon partner put us in game whereas we obviously did not have the points for it. There should be a back button so that you can correct the mistake. Otherwise I like the APP.

Great game. Sometimes I get really mad at my partner's bidding. Just like real life! A bit addictive and Not a bunch of ads like some games.

can't play correct cards because of too small of selection board. Frustrating. Looking for a better online bridge game.

One of the better card game apps. Adverts are about 15 seconds long, but not too often.

I'd say it would be a 5 star game if they fixed your partners bidding. so often they go no trumps without any Aces or constantly outbid you to ridiculous levels. Otherwise overall gameplay is great. Ok, so an addition to my past review.. I'm currently in a game that never ends because my partner and the other team keep bidding stupidly. There's been about 26 failed rounds. How hard is it to program 'bid X of this suit when you have Y number of the suit'.

It's great that this app operates on a stand alone basis. However, the bidding process is a little strange (regularly E-W bid up to 6 tricks and inevitably fail), and quite often the cards played are bizarre (why play a lower trump card?). Aside from these, my main gain is learning about the scoring.

Very good app. I am a beginner and learned with this app (by reading the rules on a website first). The only add-on that I would suggest would be to always show the last trick. Once the last player put his card, the trick disappears very quickly and is not displayed afterwards which is the case in other card apps.

Was 5 stars, and a great learning tool. However, recently they put ads in and it plays a long ad between each hand. It didnt have them between hands before and it was great, just had ads on the bottom. Wont be playing anymore.

Excellent training for beginners. The only complaint would be bidding and even displayed cards are way too small and there is no way to "undo" in case you touch a wrong card by mistake. A last hand review would be nice too. Otherwise, many tanks to developers!

Liked the previous version MUCH better. Dont like the way the bidding is displayed. Last version was clearer and easier to see. Don't like the score page. Previous version had more display, and was clearer to read. Updates aren't always better.

Never played Bridge before. Nice app to help learn. Biggest complaint is that I go and choose a card but the one next to it goes instead. Ok, tell me I have fat fingers but couldn't you please put more space in there???? Very frustrating.

I find this bridge app easier to use than another I tried. Trying to improve my game...disappointed that no function to review the play is provided with this app. Also, once 4th card is played, the trick disappears to fast to see what happened.

Gar. F. Jan 1, 2021

Terrible! I'm not able to learn how to bid and find no instructions. If I escape from a poor menu selection in an effort to find instructions, I return to long, very long ads. Not worth it!!!

Cha. M. Feb 11, 2021

Opened the game and didn't recognize it. Where did North- South and East-West go? Hand visualization worse, couldn't tell difference between hearts and diamonds. Didn't even bother to play it. Old version had its problems but this wasn't even inviting.

M. P. Sep 28, 2021

Partner bidding is badly off. Partner Response to an opening bid of 1 spade was pass, despite partner having 16 high card points! Also, with the latest update the screen size jumps when the advertising bar disappears which if you're selecting a card at that moment can make you get the wrong one.

Sas. Sep 21, 2020

It was okay until last update. Now every time a play is ended, an ad pops up. This is ridiculous. One ad at the end of a game is fine but one after each hand is totally uncalled for.

Love to play Bridge. Hard to find people who play. This app keeps me in the game!

Really helped me improve my play. Primarily in the development of strategies.
