Takes up space I need. It's a program I don't need !!! I used for a time !!! It is a complete and total failure plus it was a waste of time, space and memory !!!!!! You need to start letting people choose what's on their phones as apps !!! Especially when it takes up so much space !!! The programmers are corrupt situational existentialist !!! Freedom to choose is our rite !!!

Update: Not only can I not uninstall this garbage, but now I've received an email indicating that they've had a data breach. Glad to receive the notice but I could have been better protected by BEING ALLOWED TO UNINSTALL IT; so irritating! Original Review: Bloatware I don't want and can't get rid of. it does allow me to turn it off, but it turns itself back on every few weeks. I'd give 0 stars if that were an option.

I really want to remove this app. There's something wrong when you're given a way to do that. I'm being forced to see this app pop up on my screen all the time, whether I want it or not. It is impossible to disable this app. There is no " disable" button to push, or box to check or uncheck; just a toggle sliding button. I slide it to what I believe is Off, but later, Flipboard is soon showing up on my home screen with more " suggested" reading. I've been a Verizon customer since 2001, but I may

A lot of information about topics of interest to me. I like that you can organize articles into magazines to save them to read later or on another device. Also, easy to share via social media, email or message. You do have to be careful when selecting sources -- some like the Washington Post only let ypu read a certain number for free. I'd like more consistency in how you view artcles. Sometimes you scroll down, other times you swipe. Overall however a great way to keep up with current events and other topics.

This app closes randomly. When that happens, I often have trouble finding the article I was reading. Sometimes the articles just disappear from my screen in mid-read and the app doesn't show up in my recent apps. If I switch to another app while I'm reading, for example if I need to respond to a message or have received a call, it ghosts then as well. Really annoying.

I don't want this app and would like to have an option to uninstall it. I know it is not system vital and offers no intrinsic benifits. For now I have disabled it. For those interested, swipe away from the flipboard screen and click an empty part of the home screen. Wait till it enter edit mode, the swipe back to flipboard. In the upper right of the flipboard edit screen is on on/off switch. Go ahead and swipe it to off so it stops eating your data and on board ram. It will also remove flipboard from one of your acessable screens.

Navigating continually changes. Recommended articles can't be read without subscribing to article publication. Notifications are continuous (way too many). Links are slow. It can't be uninstalled & automatically re-enables (if disabled) after updates, which also can't be turned off. It takes up a bunch of memory and system resources. Just a terrible app 100%

This app is a quick way to get the news through the lens of a sensationalist. Opinions are not properly tagged as what they are. Instead, it is up to you to read between the lines to figure that out. To do this, you need to have yourself exposed to the sensational headlines, which influences your first impressions of the topic. As with all automatic news publishers, be critical of the underlying algorithm suggesting the articles.

I do not have the Briefing app or the Flipboard app on my list of apps on my Android. Yet, I receive notifications -- I can't tell if it's from Briefing or Flipboard, because the little upside-down staircase icon appears to be for both entities (very confusing). I have gone into my phone's setting to do both a Force Stop and to Disable notifications. I don't expect to receive any further notifications, but this is not really the issue. The issue is that your program, your software for one or bot

This app notifies me of random stories frequently throughout the day. Topics that I wouldnt consider to be breaking news. When I click on the story in my notifications tab I have to click my exit button 4 times to get this app to close out, each time it brings up ads, a list if other stories, another list of stories then it closes out. sometimes it notifies me twice, at the same time on the same story. I have disabled this app until you find a fix for these issues.

always flipping open even when I've disabled it. the material is not relevant or interesting to me. edit even though the developer has responded to my review I still stand by it. it is annoying to have to continuously disable the app and I don't like going in and changing the individual settings for it every time it updates. if I could uninstall this app from my phone I would. my phone should be a safe space but it's not when disturbing news stories can simply pop up to the side of my home screen

This app came auto-installed on my last several phones. I cannot uninstall it, just disable it, and somehow it keeps coming back. That said, the functionality of the app is not the problem. I do not identify with the content I am shown. It would be great if I could personalize the news feed. Everything article featured is very liberal-leaning. By only featuring news with a leftist spin, the creators of this app are cutting out a large section of their market. Going to disable the app again now.

Previous version was much better. This one has way too many "teaser" feeds that require separate subscriptions. Breaking news and headlines are also a little off at times. Again, the previous version was on point and worthy of 5 stars... I was generous with my 3 stars for this one. To be perfectly honest, the only reason that I actually use it is because it is built into my Samsung devices.

I like it, and yet... it's frustrating. Copying of articles is very hit-&-miss. I understand each article is from a wide range of different journals or media sources & each may impose their own policy on this. But I'm not interested in read-once-&-forget it... I save some useful material to folders as background research to which I want to refer later. Can't do that if I can't save the material in some kind of format. This isn't an unreasonable request. I'm not trying to re-publish it, I just want to be able to access it easily later: to use it as worthwhile info. If that isn't allowed I won't waste my time reading it in the first place.

Edit: Despite their suggestion below, it is impossible to stop the app from auto-updating when it feels like it. This is despite the fact that I have prevented it from auto-updating and disabled it in app manager. I'm sick of having to constantly delete the updates and frustrated I can't uninstall an app that has news that isn't relevant to my part of the world. I don't even WANT to see the news.

"less than 1 star" rating based on annoyance. I kept getting random & annoying "ping" alerts from "Briefing", but couldnt figure out what app was causing it. Occasionally woke me up at night (even with 'do not disturb" turned on). Finally figured out it was Flipboard's Briefing. Didnt know it was there, dont want it, can't uninstall. The movie line, "Terminate with extreme prejudice" comes to mind ...

evasive ad's that take control. lately I have been reading articles and an ad pops up. there is no way to escape. I get one screen into reading the article and it's all over. when I restart flipboard and go back to the article. the same thing happens. if I am no longer allowed to read articles, this app for me is totally useless. it's now just an ad server. goodbye flipboard, you are now uninstalled

Like others, I wish we could uninstall bloatware. But that's not why I'm here. I've already disabled the app and rolled it back and cleared data. Now it wants to update again. No. Just stop. I use a different app, one that's easier to navigate. Funny enough, I'm not even sure this was on my phone prior to the Android 10 update. A waste of space. A waste of time to delete data and permissions.

This app was one of my primary news sources if not the primary one. I've been using it for 5 plus years now. However, now it constantly locks up where I have to close the app out and get started again. I have uninstalled 2 times and it still does the same thing. No updates are available on what is causing this issue. Super frustrating. All the other negative comments about too many ads is not a big deal to me, but this issue is pushing me to look for other things out there.

kbo. Dec 18, 2019

This news feed is pretty much useless. It seems to have decent customization options but the news feed very rarely shows anything new. The same stories are still featured no matter how old they are or many times I refresh. The same article that was written 2 weeks ago shows that it was posted within the last hour, and once it gets past a certain date/time, it will just say it was posted within an hour again. It also only shows very limited news sources that seem to be primarily left-leaning.

CH. H. Aug 16, 2019

A bit frustrating to use. Somehow, after selecting a story, I often lose what I'm trying to read as I start to scroll whereupon it goes back to the main page. Happens constantly. Plus it feels like the stories dont change too often. Two days later, I'll be seeing many of the same stories and I'm not signed in. Otherwise, the concept is good, of course.

A. G. u. Feb 7, 2019

it is an impressively terrible app that consistently astounded me with its ability to make me angry in new and innovative ways. including but not limited to; swiping up the page making continuity in reading almost impossible, starting new pages in the middle of the last paragraph, and being unable to properly deal with typefaces in general. Just. Really. Bad

This app seems to be of no use whatsoever on its own. It came preloaded onto my Samsung and can't be uninstalled yet it does not show up in my app drawer, only in the list of apps in settings, so it can't be opened. When I searched for the app, I got sent to Flipboard on Google Play and had to install that separately instead. So, as far as I can tell, Briefing is just taking up space on my phone.

Hyp. Nov 17, 2018

Okay, this app is NOT safe for mobile devices. This is because the app seemingly causes my devices to have severe performance issues. My phone became unable to be used for anything, and my tablet screen keeps flickering with a blue screen. When I uninstalled the updates for this app, my mobile devices were back to normal. I hope this will help other people with the same issue.

Shows as installed but I cannot find it on my phone. **update** 2020/09/04 - Found it under Settings-Apps. Disabled, cache and storage cleared. Defaults to "allow background data" which really chaps my (fill in the blank). Making the assumption that I want any app other than my phone and messages apps to be defaulted to "allow background data" or usage is absurd. Let me choose during setup whether or not I want this app would be appreciated. I don't. Again, disabled.

Annoyingly pops up! ALWAYS! I literally hate this app. I read and update my daily current events manually. I'll research current events at my own desired schedule. This Flipboard app is the most annoying news app I've ever used, it pops up on my phone, randomly, at times that are most inconvenient. Do a percentage of us a favor and delete this LOL trust me the percentage that won't miss it have no problem researching current events on their own.

Jen. O. R. Jul 2, 2019

Painfully stilted... Frankly I find it hard to read anything on Flipboard. The only time I ever even glance at a single article is when I accidentally swipe right, and it shows up on my Samsung Android screen. It only takes about two or three sentences for me to realize that I'm wasting my time. If you want actual news reporting that's objective and unbiased, you won't find it here.
