Completely useless, no longer able to log on to app at all. Have reset password, have uninstalled and reinstalled app, it says my password is incorrect even though I can log on to the website with the same credentials. What is wrong with your IT systems? This along with completely messing up my bill for months and obviously losing my smart meter order; total shambles.

Yet again after the app updates, all my Information is forgotten and I end having to put it all back in. It has never given me an accurate read from the meters as to what I have left, in fact, sometimes the app is miles out! The display unit is regularly complaining that it's lost the network signal. It took me a while to cotton on that it wasn't a signal loss between it and the meters but between it and you or whatever mobile network you use.

Pathetic. Cannot work out what I actually owe them. The app says I'm in credit, but yet they sent a debt collector threat. I pay more than enough by direct debit. The previous transactions I've apparently made changes regularly. The website differs but still does not make sense. My usage history is all blanks despite having smart meter. Seriously poor.

I've been transferred to British Gas because my previous supplier went out of business. Despite having created an online account that I can access via my PC I cannot log in to this app. I get the message "Something went wrong" and worse still there is no means of getting out of this except by killing the app. The problem is that I created a password containing the % character. I can log in with this using my PC but it fails when using the app. Fix it BG!

Hate this app! always have and always will. It is either very slow or doesn't work and needs updating almost every time I need to top up! Cannot manage to keep card details saved on here so it frustrating to enter them manually every time. Topping up energy is supposed to be quicker on the app but to be honest I could go to the shop and back quicker than using the British gas app. I am alone here obviously, as I'm told by support that only 2% of people struggle with this dreadful app.

Very slow to connect to energy accounts. It takes 4 minutes. Usage Data not available for the last 3 - 4 days, which is worse than the 2 day lag of a week ago. The app is supposed to replace the home monitor, which are no longer replaced. Smart metering advertised as helping customers monitor energy use in near realtime. This is now an advertising falsehood.

3 months later. Numerous complaints and still no further forward. Really poor app. Barely functional and at the moment doesn't even work. Although webpage is also not working. Haven't been able to get into either to input meter readings for days and have never yet been able to book a repair service without seeing an oops message!!! Still can't get into the app October 2021!!! January 2022 and guess what. App still doesn't work. Log in and get oops there's a problem. Same old.

This app is rubbish. It's never worked in the 5 months I've had it - always shows an error message when I look up past bills and doesn't show a real-time account of credit/debit. It only updates after several months, with enormous leaps in credit/debit amounts. People's Energy had a much better app, which updated immediately you put in your meter readings. Pull a finger out and get it sorted, British Gas.

If I could give no stars then I would! Worst customer service and an even worse app that is next to useless. Trying to add credit is the most stressful experience at times, having to swap between using the app and topping up online is stupid. I've also had £70 stolen from me due to an "error" that took the money but added no credit!! Called customer service who after an hour of being on hold stated "our debt dept will call back" did they? No of course they didn't!

Absolute rubbish, the app doesn't show up to date usage/credit, the whole point of having both the app and the monitor is to be able to "monitor" usage and to do top ups on line which was the whole reason of having a smart meter installed, due to having disabled persons in our household. Not impressed at all. Customer service is about the same, would replace the monitor if less than 12 months old but after that, no help at all, just got to suck it up. Not impressed in the slightest.

Very Bad, have been trying to log into the app, when I do log in it goes cold and shuts down, if you try and phone British gas you cannot always get through, it seems the whole system has shut down and gone crazy, modern technology you can keep it, it's not worth the effort , in the good old days you could phone and people would talk ,and help you,,, those days are gone. as for the app useless.

If only zero stars was an option...the Smart Meter loses wi-fi connection at least 5 times every day, it's been re-positioned numerous times and Cust. Service tell me I have a big problem...shocker! As far as the app is concerned, "it" can never gather enough data to show my historical usage and after most updates, results in a "technical problem". Starting to wish I'd stuck with just reading the meter, at least I'd have had something to work with. Not impressed nor good enough, British Gas!!!

10 months of using it and it's still as bad. Error message pops up everytime I open it. Only use it because I have too. The balance has never matched what is on the meter at all. The app never tells you the correct balance. Tried to top up on Sunday and it said I've topped up too many times for the day, went to a payzone and that wouldn't work either. Had to turn on the emergency for electric to get through the rest of the day.

It gets two stars because the meter readings never match what it shows on the app, also I'm not keen on having to input all my details every time I open the app.I have a pay-as-you-go meter so it's the only way to top up. Update 2May 2022, If it had an option for 0 star,it would get minus 0, my meter doesn't work, constantly lost connection to the wi-fi,it can't be fixed so I have to manually put credit on both Gas & Electricity.Useless!!!!!

You suppose to see your balance in real life on smart meters. Since I installed the app the balance gets updated once per week or at every 2 weeks. Worst app ever. The only thing that makes them smart meters is cause you can top up in the app. That's about it, is no good for anything else. I call them and they blame the meters not connecting to network or something, but if that would've been the case I would've not been able to top up, which that's about the only thing you can do on the app

Handy to easily top up the gas and electric, but unable to see up-to-date balances. My Electricity balance hasn't been there since midway through last year! Sometimes the balance is £0, and sometimes it's shown as £20,000, which are both definitely wrong! Needs sorting, especially now when most people need to pay closer attention to what they're spending.

Slow to load when using fingerprint. Annoying when you top up, click pay, select card and then it goes back to the click to pay screen before it shows you have successfully topped up. I've doubled topped up before I worked out there was a delay. App offers no kind of usage tracking or anything that may be helpful. 2 stars are for it being more convenient that going to a shop to top up.

Poor app, doesn't show your usage, never shows me an accurate amount on each of my meters - the electric never even shows an amount left and there should be a way of getting notifications to show you are getting low so you don't have to keep checking the in home display. The app is only good for topping up, everything else is useless.

Simple to use ,I top up my metres in a few seconds wherever I am👍 ,great since it was upgraded No issues at all BRILL👍. LATER!!!But can be slow at times and issues with me being unable to always top up,only been happening in last few months (on 3 separate occasions!??)luckily I had plenty gas and electric at the time or I would have been without either,it went in for 2days,???? 👎

I have a smart meter, but it very rarely displays the correct value of energy used on the app. To get the correct reading, I just uninstall the app then reinstall it, but it's getting tedious now. Wouldn't bother with the app, just use the smart meter. Updated: 8 MAY 2022 After all the problems BG had with this app over the last few months, you'd think they would have worked a bit harder. So, same advice. Check your charges/costs on your smartmeter, not the app.

I would give zero stars if I could. The app it useless. I cannot see my top-up electricity balance. It crushes all the time. If I somehow manage to pay through the app and not get error it's a miracle. They say there are temporary issues with the app? Temporary? Same error as 2 years ago.. The state of that app makes me consider either changing tariff to direct debit or changing the provider.

Soooooo Slow You have the worst and slowest app I have the misfortune to use. You say my bill is ready to read online, if only I could get on the app. Please get it sorted. You say it's easier on the app.... no it ain't. Update. This continues to be the worst app ever. I don't recall a time I have been able to access all of what it offers. Eg tariff info not available, direct debit info not available, usage info nit available and the list goes on.

Repeatedly fails to show usage on the app. 12 clicks and 4 mins to discover yet again unable to see weekly or monthly use. Daily occasionally but only the previous 1 day. What is the point of this app, utterly useless. Was pushed into a smart meter and using the app. Its a waste of time. If you want to waste time and live under the definition of insanity this app is for you. Can't get hold of anyone at BG to help resolve this. Been going on for a year. BG SORT YOUR MESS OF AN 'APP' OUT!!!!!!!!!!

It's just taken me over 5 hours to be able to access the app to purchase electricity. Once I'm in things are great but everytime I get the same notification "Couldn't fetch your data". I could understand if it was every now and then but everytime and continuously, I end up having to go to a local shop which defeats the idea of being able to buy credit online.

It's quite good when it is working correctly, but it is often not working as it should. You can't even log on at all today. The last few times that I managed to log on it would only show past usage up to the 9th of September. It's normally a few days behind, but that is almost one and a half months behind. Each update seems to cause problems with the app. The usage details are still not updating. It is now the 26th March and the gas and electric usage details only go as far as the middle of Feb.

I've changed to pay as you go for electric and since the changeover I can lo longer even get an outdated Ballance, totally unacceptable concidering the price of it, all I get is the usual Technical issue but it never gets fixed It's now nearly 2 months on pay as you go and you still haven't fixed the app!!!!!!!! I've no idea on credit at the home address when I work away

Update - hurrah, usage data is restored, though it took almost 3 months. The latest update claims to have improved access to direct debit features - but no, the app still says it is unable to show any direct debit information, just as it has for the last several years

In the 3 months I've had this app on my phone so far I was not able to log on even once. Every time I tried there was something they were doing, making logging on impossible. Absolutely useless. Edit: I managed to log on. But now the app logs me off every time I use it, and as I have a super pain in the butt password, it takes me minutes to log on. Thank you British gas. You're special kind of morons.

Absolutely awful experience. Great at first but energy usage insights haven't been working for months. The energy usage and budgeting functions haven't been updated since the 16th February. It's not just me, there are hundreds of posts that mention that exact same date. But guess what ... the app works when making a payment, funny that eh.

App not fit for use, says I need to update but apparently Its asking me to delete apps to make space. I have bloody 40gb free. It was hopeless with Windows 7 and its just as hopeless now. I am disabled and rely on these things as I rarely able to get out. Desktop pc version not much better Edit, still not fit for use, erases saved cards so you have to constantly input. Also on the pc version too. I thought all this would be better after the appalling experience of windows 7 but it's not.
