BritishSt.Food

The free app for the movers and shakers in the world of British Street Food. It showcases the best street food in the country.

It’s all coordinated by Richard Johnson, the respected journalist and founder of the British Street Food Awards. Richard is the author of the best-selling book Street Food Revolution, and writes a street food column in The Guardian (when he's not broadcasting for the British Broadcasting Corporation from street food hotspots round the world). The news and reviews on the app come direct from the team behind the hugely successful British Street Food Awards, hosted last year at Jamie Oliver's fifteen.

For punters -- the app is packed with revolutionary features including live GPS maps showing who is trading where and when. The information can be updated daily (by traders checking in) so that it will be as topical as possible. It details all the top traders in Britain, and their daily specials – with special in-app offers. But it will also carry details of the hottest new traders hitting the streets. And it encourages everyone to photograph, rate and review their food.

For traders - it's a free app for any trader to use. Whether you’re selling pies from a trestle table, or pizzas out of a vintage truck, you’ll want to be on this app. You can upload all your pitch details. The public will rate you and, maybe, get you into the British Street Food Top 10. Plus it will bring you to the attention of the judges when it’s time to select the finalists for the British Street Food Awards.

Other app highlights include a ‘Favourites’ section for users, with regular news and feature updates from the website, and a free subscription to the seasonal newsletter from British Street Food. Users will be able to recommend undiscovered traders to the British Street Food team, and link their comments into all the excitement about street food that’s bouncing round on twitter and Facebook. Join the street food revolution!

Pretty useless as it shows other street food vendors that don't exist ....also the map doesn't move as you do.

It's just updated now on the map it lists the traders in a grey box with black font not easy to read on a phone.

Very disappointed as I love street food. App refuses to accept entries for registration. Repeatedly returns unhelpful 'Error wrong user input' message and no more :(

Fixes that awards issue, thanks.

Unable to vote tonight in Birmingham in the 2014 awards. Disappointed; must be an Android issue.

Unable to vote in the 2014 street food awards. For the record, I vote jabberwocky.

Is this just an Android issue? Voting list out of date, map showing live vendors only recognising a few of the vendors trading accurately. Epic fail in brum
