Broadlink RM Tasker Plugin

Broadlink RM controller are cheap controllers able to learn & retransmit IR and RF signal, making it possible to control several home appliances with ease. However, it has never been possible to program and customized the experience outside of their proprietary Broadlink eControl apps. Not any more! With this Tasker plugin, you can configure these RM Controller to work exactly the way you want it, when you want it.Friendly APIs are provided for custom integration with whatever home automation system you are using.
☑ CompatibilityCompatible with Broadlink RM2, RM Home, RM Pro, RM3 Mini (BlackBean), SP2, SPMini, Contros, A1.S1C, other sensors will be supported in future version via HTTP Bridge or web console only, not as a State Trigger Tasker plugin.

☑ WidgetThis let you add a widget/button on your home screen to directly control Broadlink RM at a few simple clicks.

☑ Amazon Echo IntegrationThis app acts as a bridge between your Amazon Echo & Broadlink devices and let you control supported Broadlink devices with your voice. Simply enable this feature & tell Alexa to "discover devices".

☑ HTTP BridgeThis app acts as a HTTP Bridge and let you control your Broadlink devices via simple HTTP urls (a.k.a curl commands). API syntax are extremely user-friendly and well-documented right inside the app. It is now much easier to integrate RM device into your home automation setup.

☑ Web Console [Beta]Manage your devices & code via the built-in web interface powered by HTTP Bridge. If you want to access it remotely, simply turn on port-forwarding on your router and use Basic Authentication to protect your access.

☑ 3G Bridge (version 0.8.0 and above)You can control your Broadlink RM devices even from outside of your home WiFi network, as a Tasker plugin or a homescreen widget. You'll simply need to enable a Bridge device within your home WiFi network. Refer to screenshot and in-app FAQ for more details.

☑ Import existing data from Broadlink appYou don't have to painstakingly re-learn all the IR or RF you have done with Broadlink eControl app. This plugin takes data directly from Broadlink eControl app without you having to manual copy & paste anything. Once you're done with that, you can even uninstall Broadlink eControl app entirely.

☑ Free trialYou have 7 days to try out the unlocked version for free! Please download it separately from here: http://bit.ly/rm_trial

WARNING:This can be used both as a plugin in Tasker or a standalone app. Please contact me directly if anything is wrong and I'll respond to you promptly and try to fix it as soon as I can. Thanks!

I've had this working fine for almost three years, with only very occasional glitches. Of course it made everything look to Alexa like a simple on/off light switch, which is a bit limiting, but was usable with some workarounds. Now it doesn't work at all with Alexa - which may be due to an Amazon update - but it makes it useless to me.

App no longer works with A!exa. Broadlink released a skill for Alexa and updated the IHC app and you MUST use that now. There was no warning or explanation, everything just stopped working in September 2019. You have to redo everything from scratch including groups and routines. See Paul Hibbert's videos on YouTube for info on how to get everything working again. That's the bad news, the good news is everything is now in the cloud and much more stable/reliable/permanent.

This app is amazing. With a little help from IFTTT, I am able to use the http server in this app to control all my TV/TV equipment, projector, speakers and even the Dyson air fan with my broadlinks straight from the Google home devices. Keep up the great work. One little suggestion, would it be possible to learn individual codes straight from the Code List. At the moment I seem to have to create a macro, learn the code, then delete the macro which creates the Code in the Code list. I think it would be easier to learn all the codes first, then construct the macros later.

No longer working. When it worked it would have got 5 stars, but now Alexa says the device isn't responding. If I delete something and try to Discover Devices, Alexa doesn't find it. Very disappointing.. hopefully the app can be updated to resolve this issue.

I still have this "working" on a Galaxy Tab4 running custom ROM, however it's not very stable. The app will restart itself after a pop-up message generally, but not every time. It's probably time for a code refresh.

Timer doesnt work properly. I set my projector screen to come down and to stop after 40 seconds but the timer doesn't bring on the stop command on time so my screen just drops until it's touching the floor. Ridiculous! This app needs an update!

Works for me. I've had this app running on an old LG G3 for years and it's been generally stable for thousands of hours at a time. I have nothing else running on the phone so I just mainly check on it every few months and reboot if it gets flaky.

As of last night it stopped working for me. Two years and it worked fine, now all the sudden Alexa cannot find the devices.

would be great other than the fact that some commands and macros disappear over time making you have to go through the process of re-implementing them which can be time consuming.

Does not work with the Broadlink RM Pro+. Paid the $4.99, thinking that would help, but alas. Feel duped to have paid for an app that does not work.

great app that I have been using for years with Alexa. But now Alexa refuses to find the devices defined in the app. Anyone else having this problem?

Is this still working? It say I have no IR devices configured in the broadlink app, when I have one that works ok...

Great app but why not make this available for shield tv? it's a perfect candidate for a device that's left on all the time.

What happened??? Alexa wont discover new devices using rm plug in?

上條慎. Nov 10, 2018

can i use this app with ihc app ?

I was using this app to link all of my Broadlink remote devices (TV, Amp, Sky Box and Household lighting) to various Amazon echo's that are scattered around the house and using Alexa for voice control. Unfortunately I ran into a few issues when adding a new generation amazon echo device. When scanning for new devices nothing new was getting detected. If this happens to you unplug all of your new generation Echo' devices and plug in an old one. Once that's done ask Alexa to discover devices again and all of your new devices should be detected and added. Amazon appear to have done something iffy with the new devices that blocks the ability for devices added via this plugin to be detected.
