I downloaded this app in its free version because it had white, pink, and brown noise. I prefer the brown noise over the others for sleeping and this didn't disappoint. A very nice feature is exiting the application and the option for the app to keep running. There are shortcuts in the pulldown to stop the sound or close the app. The paid version removed all ads. Overall, a simple but highly useful and effective application.
Awesome app! Thanks! I actually chose this app over the Editor's Choice pick. I can leave it on thru out the night for my baby, with no interruptions. Works great! It is what it is and it does what it says... Just a suggestion, possibly consider changing the visuals, maybe something more peaceful/restful... But honestly, it doesn't even really matter because I turn the screen off.
The noise stops in the middle of the night, which wakes me up. But, it only happens some nights. I like this particular brown noise frequency enough to deal with it, but I wish it wouldn't do that! Edit: I changed all battery settings to allow background use and it still happens (now nightly) after about 4 hours of running.
I like the brown noise the best. 2 stars because the app will randomly shut off for no reason, and then automatically revert to white noise. And you can't "swipe" over to go through the sounds, you have to pay for that now which is total bs. I have to uninstall and reinstall all the time because it will get bogged down with ads, or the looped sound gets really choppy.
Wonderful app that I use every night to mask environment sounds while sleeping. Would have given it five stars except for one major flaw. Most apps that generate sound (music players, video players, etc), pause themselves whenever the phone receives a call. Thus app however continues to generate noise making the first minute or two of a phone call rather awkward while unlocking the phone and stopping the app.
Excellent Brown Noise! The brown noise is excellent background noise for doing homework and sounds better than a lot of other brown noise. Edited because I just realized that the slider at the bottom that looks like a progress bar is actually a volume slider that functions independently of the phone volume. Adjust this if it's too quite.
App crashes every midnight. Tried on Samsung Galaxy tab, Moto Play phone, HTC phone and Samsung phone. The app shuts down at midnight and needs to be restarted. This occurs with, or without, the timer. If it weren't for that it'd be great. This one does not have audible artifacts on the brown noise loop like so many other apps. Not sure why they don't just generate brown noise but they don't...
The opposite of relaxing. Sometimes you can just turn it in and use it. But sometimes, after its been in for a second, it starts playing a loud advert. And sometimes, it will do this up to three times with a few seconds gap in between, lulling you into a false sense of security. We use white noise to help our baby sleep, or to keep the other parent asleep while she's crying in the night, so this is a disaster. It's more likely to wake them up than help them sleep.
I came for brown noise and s timer. The brown noise sounds perfect. The timer lets me choose how many seconds, minutes, hours I want to set to a maximum of 99:99:99. Perfect for work, study and sleep. Thanks for the great app. I consider paying even for the free content.
Honestly the sounds are great and is easy to use. I don't mind ads in free aps but the reality is that this is supposed to be an app to help you relax, sleep, meditate... But then video/graphic ads come on with incredibly annoying sounds or music. Defeats the entire purpose, and ruins an otherwise great app
When you started allowing ads with audio, the audio in this app will frequently pause for a split second. Makes using this as a sound blocker while I sleep useless. It actually kept me up all night, last night. Too bad, I really enjoyed the deeper quality of the Brown Noise.
Had an ad come on while playing the brown noise, kinda ruined it as I use the noise for meditation. I closed the app and the sound continued. I had to restart my phone to get it to stop. Ads during the use of the sounds makes the whole thing pointless. It would ruin it for mindfulness or trying to sleep because of tinnitus etc.
Love the independent volume so I can tailor my podcasts with it. Best app for blocking out annoying noisy neighbors etc. So simple, great sounds, good variety. I've tried dozens but always come back to this. I realised how much I rely on this app so wanted to review it.
I originally downloaded back in 2018 and has since been my go to every night. I have to give props for not only the awesome app but for the restraint on adds. They never bothered or made the app unusable but even then I payed 1 dollar for more as a donation. Highly recommend, also as a note it sometimes crashes when used for too long but it is extremely rare.
Seriously useful when there are nioses that make it hard to sleep. Even better With earphones. Warning: make sure you don't have an alarm or high volume if you sleep with them as it might cause hearing damage. And lock you volume buttons with touch lock to prevent someone from hiring the volume.
Can't have any other app including clock on, or it crashes. Definitely not my phone's fault, as this doesn't happen even to demanding apps. Otherwise it's great for sleeping, brown noise is much better for me than white noise, but not many apps have it.
It is a good app, helped me through a few sleepless nights. However, after a few weeks of brown noise, it starts to give me a headache. I'll be moving on to different apps with free rain sounds, but this deserves 5 stars for at least doing its job.
Oh my! A proper pink noise generator that includes its own volume setting, so it can be played *alongside* other apps and still provide my personal ideal level of noise generation simultaneously. This is 100% perfect for my needs. Thank you so much for this amazing app being in my life.
Not a real noise generator. Just plays a noise sample on a loop which is instantly noticeable when the loop repeats. So, useless for sleep. You couldn't even trim the silence from the audio samples? Don't you know anything about audio processing at all? Such a lazy / ignorant design.
works perfectly, wonderful, break-free brown noise. thank you! Update: whatever change was made introduced breaks in the brown noise that occur randomly every 30s to 5min. Bummer to have to uninstall an app I paid for. Rating reduced to reflect new value.
Its excellent for those who moan about adds use it offline simple then turn data back on after it's on yeah I've always found constant noises that stay the same frequency very relaxing and therapeutic and although I like waterfall sounds I just imagine that it is a waterfall because it sounds similar so thankyou developers for a fantastic application
Interface mediocre. The small number of samples aren't great, some are blocked in the free version, and there's full screen ads with sound, defeating the purpose of the trial.
Was thinking, this is perfect! Started to put the phone on charger and go to sleep. All of the sudden some annoying FICO score commercial starts blaring from the speaker. Immediately uninstalled the app. What a joke.
This app does exactly what it claims to do and for that alone its worth 5 stars. I'm just starting to care more for sleep and its quality so having an app as such is so useful, with features that are very well thought out 1 constructive criticism have, though quite a petty one would be the aesthetic of the interface. its not as pleasing as it could be. itll be great to see it get cleaned up and look nice and minimal. overall, as a developer, you should be proud of this amazing app you've made
I got tired of counting on the wifi to work so I could stream brown noise on youtube. This app provides me the safety net I need when it comes to accessing the sound I need and when I need it. I've been using the app for over a year with minimal issues. The app fires up quickly, rarely has ads, never crashes, and it always consistent. The noise is very continuous, with no silent gaps. I am truly grateful the creator developed this efficient app. It's really improved the quality of my life.
