This is a great app. The only permission it needs is to be able to keep the droid from sleeping, so no ads, no network time used, no big brother watching... The application lets you calibrate for all four sides of the unit and the back. It can be set to beep when the unit is close (within 1°?) of level, and even to speak the angle if desired. You can even set it to display 1/10 degrees, percentage, or pitch, and you can change the background color. All around, this is a no-brainer must-have app.
It worked great on my Optimus One (gingerbread), it didn't work on the same device with Cyanogenmod 9 (it looked like it could only update is state every 10-20 seconds), worked fine again with CM11. Now I'm on a Moto E with KitKat and it just hangs there (other apps work fine). I hope it gets an update soon because it's a great, lightweight app. Best level app when it works.
Worked fine, then i didn't use it for a while. I go to use it and it stays on 0degrees for all axis's(unlocked, and locking disabled in menu) reinstall and calibrate do not fix. Other apps can tell angles just fine.
Great functionality & superb graphics. Many thanks! It's also amusing to see the many cretins here, complaining about the apps accuracy. There are 2 things that they may wish to note : 1) The app first needs to be calibrated against a known, good spirit level (& re-calibrated regularly ) and 2) Unless your phone is at least 50cm long, you are never going to get super-accurate results. GET REAL! And remember that if the phone's edge isn't flat (has protruding buttons etc) then you need to allow for this.
It works & dosnt cause any problems at all. It allso looks better than other simler programs I have tried.
Works well, nice large numbers, but a little too sensitive. Often changes back and forth between values (0 and 1) too quickly. It should apply an exponential moving average, perhaps by an adjustable amount.
Tried a few but this one was perfect. East to use, easy to read numbers, easy to calibrate. Accuracy seemed pretty good considering the uneveness of my phone ( less than + or - 1 degree compared to my spirit level) .
You don't need the real spirit level if you have a phone without curves and with this app.
Thank you so much for this. I am a freak about straightening pictures on the walls, tables etc. Have been going to the garage and looking through the toolbox to locate a level. This is always with me! Just plain works!
This could be a great app... But unfortunately, this app gets the orientation wrong on my Motorola Flipout. I emailed the author for support but received no reply.
This app is one of the first I downloaded way back in 2011 or 12. And it is still one of my favorite and most-used apps! Handy and accurate, no weird permissions, easy to calibrate. Occasionally I still break out my 4' level, but this is my go-to level.
I don't know what the guy talking about the degrees/percent conversion being off. 27 degrees is 30 percent. The app is correct.
I like this. It works properly, and it's so very simple. I really had no need for it, but I have walked around with my "real" bubble level and checked things compared to the phone. Spot on.
Very handy for a civil engineer like me. Still, issues need to be ironed out as some others are saying.
I had completely forgotten about this app. Works quite well. I could have used it a few days ago when I didn't have a level with me.
Would be better if it would tell me whether it's negative or positive degrees. Other than that, its perfect. Use on Motorola Nexus 6
Don't really use leveling apps but I think this is pretty good. Useful for aligning cameras on tripods though. Calibration settings too elaborate.
Calibrate first against a real level so you can account for bumps and buttons on your case or cover first!
I use it often and show all my friends, everyone uses it now. No bad issues.
Jeff, your a idiot. Leave reviews that are actually relevant to the app. To everyone else this a great simple app.
Does everything it needs to, without ads. One suggestion though would be a sound when calibration is complete, as I calibrate my phone face down.
After reading all the comments, I thought this was going to be a nice app. I was wrong! Seriously, I had this on my tablet for exactly 43 seconds, and was certain it was rubbish. Uninstalling. :(
Do not use for anything important, indeed. This does not get any better than 1 whole degree. My real spirit level (4 ft) is good to better than 1/10 of a degree; which error is quite noticeable. Not knocking it, really... for a smartphone App. But... smartphones are NOT precision tools!
I've used this many, many times for a quick level when I'm not in some super critical situation. Hanging pictures is a great example.
Bubble Level by Antoine Vianey does the same thing but better, with cleaner graphics in a smaller package.
I have used it on several phones for framing in construction & at home just in checking angles & pitches or setting a picture straight! Thanks Dev.
This used to be the best level app in the store. Sound no longer works on my Droid Turbo 2. Fix it and I'll give it 5 stars
Like how you can calibrate for each side of the phone, so you can still use if your case or phone is not flat or uniform on every side. Wouldn't trust it for anything important, but it's always with me and I believe it gives me a pretty good idea if something is level or not.
