What is the build.prop file?
The “build.prop” file is a system file that exists on every Android device. The file contains build information and other system properties which are used throughout the operating system.
System properties are string key-value pairs. You can create or modify a system property in the build.prop file which will be loaded when your device first boots.
The file is located at /system/build.prop. The build.prop file allows single line comments that start with a ‘#’ character.
What is a system property?
System properties are small name value pairs managed by Android’s property service. All system properties are loaded at boot. You can get the value of any system property without root access. You need to have root access to modify or create a system property.
What are some common build.prop tweaks?
Some common system properties include:
ro.sf.lcd_density: controls the device density.
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay: the number of milliseconds between ring notifications.
persist.adb.notify: flag to show/hide the ADB debugging notification.
lockscreen.rot_override: flag to enable/disable rotating the device when the screen is locked

Why everyone giving bad ratings? The app is fantastic and no ads . If any one don't know its use he/she say do not work. But I am saying this app work very good and before my boot time was 1 min 10 -27 seconds but after less than 30 seconds. Brilliant app brother and sister app developers.
Used to be a very good app. i could not edit entry with this app but could with another app. Also, I cannot get a minute away to edit an entry before a dang ad pops up.
If you're trying to modify the settings of Fortnite to have illegal 60 fps, this app does the job pretty well! Just be careful about what you edit and remember to hide/uninstall after modify the settings file. The only complaint is that it has too many ads.
Really worked for me my other device was rooted probably because i changed everything for ex. If your device is 5.0 and you are changing it to a samsung s9 it wont work it is unbalanced you have to change everything otherwise it wont work !
Used it to try change my media steps. Didnt try snything else. Clicked save (rooted) it said error. I uninstalled snd went my merry way. After next reboot my phone went into a bootloop. Couldnt get adb workig to edit build.prop ended up in a complete wipe and start over. Good luck to anyone that even tries this piece of garbage. Oneplu6T
It just freezes while opening .prop or other files with the round logo PROP in the center of the blank screen. Failed to open any file... Maybe I should set anything before the start? I'll rate this app with five+++ immediately after it will show my build.prop file up.
this needs to be updated it is no longer working as the firmware updates have changed their security i am no longer able to edit and save my buildprop on my samsung galaxy s8 with android pie it used to work but now after i updated my firmware it no longer works please fix and update thanks
This is a great app with many useful features. I don't understand the dummys giving it only 1 star because they broke something. Make sure you know what you are doing before modifying anything in your build.prop. If you are not sure about a mod then DON'T DO IT!
plain and simple. This is a dev tool. I have been compiling for many years, and it takes patience, and yes messing things up to learn to correctly edit these file types. Stock build.prop is put that way for a reason. I wish people would stop randomly searching this stuff on google and trying the 1st thing they find blindly. it is not the Devs fault you broke your phone or tab, simply put. Its yours.
Direct save doesnt work in android 9 lineage os, have to save to external and use root explorer to move and set permissions.

And 3 stars for the efforts made for making an awesome app, I have used this earlier and then uninstalled this coz i too got into a bootloop or you may say a few bootloops and was afraid to do anything with my phone but now when i wanted to try something i fear again that my phone will get into a bootloop and i don't even have enough space to backup my system
Bricked my tablet, been trying to unbrick for months. No one has a solution since "USB Debugging" was disabled there's no way to connect adb to recover. Stock recovery only allows firmware update greater than the version currently installed. since the version i have was the final version released it will not reinstall the current firmware version in recovery menu. My stock recovery is locked and there was no way to load a custom recovery. Device is a Sony Tablet S.
this app tried to help me get my phone rooted so the fortnite installer would work on my incompatible device but it said an error for saving changes and it didn't work. 2 stars
I accidentally changed the ro. Build.version.sdk to 22 before it was on 18 now my phone isn't working. Not allowing me to use apps. The apps keeps on crashing. When I try to open them please help me
From what I've realized. It has been saying error saving build.prop which meant I had to get a root for my device. But I couldn't even get a root

My device is rooted and I have it set to default with permission access granted for root, but it still doesn't work.
Doesn't recognize I'm rooted (all the permission are set in magisk) and way too much ads, an only paid version would be better than this
Uninstalled after 20 seconds. An ad every time you touch anything.
The difference between root explorer and this isn't that different except for its ability to edit your build prop without root.
Having a problem can't see the options like Audio, Camera, etc on home screen instead its showing Build info, dalvik vm, Google, etc. please help.
My device has no /system partition only a single / partition thus this app is useless as i cant tell it i dont have a /system partition and it just fails to remount /system rw becuase /system is a directory on my device Note 4 (trlte)
Simple and works well. Reset tima properties back to 0 and Samsung health works again on root. Good app dev
it doesn't work without root your phone. i dont know how it got five star with misleading details. it required root. non root users can not save anything

My device is rooted when I open the app superuser rights are granted. I add a new system property that shows in the list namely ro.config.media_vol_steps can I set the value to 30. Click save and it says operation failed. If I created an error dialog for one of my apps and all it says was operation failed I'd get fired. Can you not possibly include some more information to help you troubleshoot then operation failed!?
