Edit: Going from 2/5 to 1/5 because app wants phone access now. /// Since the redesign, the app went from one of my favorite ones (clear user experience, intuitive menus) to one of my most hated. Basic functions hard to find, I STILL get stuck for a moment when trying to do certain things in the app. It is bloated with stuff that I don't care about, e.g. a whole "Us" menu button with stuff about bunq and what they do (Why?), info about money "saved" and CO2 saved. Stop trying to nudge so hard.

I think its time for an in-depth review. Been a bunq user for a while now: - Design: You either love it or hate it. In my eyes its modern, mobile oriented and fairly clean. - The features: Virtual & physical cards, easy paymant options & more. - The pricing: The part I dont like, which is why I also gotta subtract 1 star. The free option has basically 0 features making it a savings account. For the 8$ I pay its a perfect bank but I think 5$ should be enough for that.

When this app first came out, it was wonderful. Now, it feels like a completely different app and I hate it. I was suddenly charged €20 without my permission or consent, and when I switched to the new free option, I was AGAIN charged without being notified. That's not how it works. Also the interface is a nightmare. Very disappointed with what the app has become and the conduct shown.

The app is okay. Not the most intuïtieve to use but most thinks work. My only problem is the the budgeting tool this is completely broken. Payment are calculated under the wrong group even if you change it. Some payments are calculated multiple times. Payments from accounts that are excluded from the budget are still counted. And it looks like there is spending in a category and if you click on it there are no payments. All of this makes the budgeting tool completely useless.

Everytime the application open to the customer support screen not my home overview, so most transactions don't go through. I have to separately open the app return to the home screen them submit the transaction. Horrible experience.

App regularly crashes when you try to make a payment through ideal, poorly designed UI, just an overall awful experience. Just sign up for a mainstream bank, the convenience of the fast set-up isn't worth the hassle that comes with it.

I simply wanted to use Bunq for the unique features it has compared to other banks. However, from the moment I downloaded this app, I was met with a terrible journey. To make things worse, I have also been banned without any communication from them and have yet to see any help or info. What a terrible experience has this been. I do not recommend.

My app does not work anymore, neither does my weblogin. I emailed support..no response. Lucky me that my card still works. Trying now to recover my account by uninstalling the app en downloading the new one...and quess what...still waiting for the verification to go trough. I just feel the need to get my money off the account and go somewhere else!

I cannot login any more. I cannot reach the support and I have been not answered via email. Edit: after a day was reached out by the support team, which unlocked the account. I'm still puzzled about the fact I cannot access my bank account without an app.. But it's not a problem of the app itself. So back to 5 stars

Always a bug! Now the bug which is freaking me out is the fact that I cannot change the payment category, because it doesn't affect my budget. I pay a higher plan for a feature which doesn't work as fine.

My very first review of the app was very positive. My app started suddenl (yesterday) to work due some invalid security code. Tried using email, phone no luck. I even tried to contact the customer support got an program taking my call and putting my request in a queue with the message we will reach to you ik your app. How can I get into the app if the only i see is a login page. Very frustrating! I needed to to do urgent payments and other things. Very disappointed! Still waiting for a solution!

Needed a credit card quickly, so I downloaded this app. Added some money to the app en tried to use the card. Didn't work. Wired the money back to my own bank account and deleted the app. Ever since then (few months back) Bunq has been spamming me with emails that I have "unpaid balance" and I need to top up my account before they "take action". Tried to reinstall the app to check, but my password didn't work. They don't have an option to recover your password. All just feels like a big scam.

I wanted this to be good so badly. It has been 5days & still no word from them; the app still just says I will hear from them in 24 hours. Very dissapointed. I hoped for a difference from the poor responsiveness & long wait times of national Dutch Banks. What a headache.

Bank itself I'm good with. It's the app that's leaves me disappointed. The previous UX was way better. Basic functions are difficult to find now. Creating account links or scheduled payments caused me actual frustration. I'll change the review once this is sorted. Edit: App changed and the important features front and center. Much better now 👍🏻

Honestly, I am an enthusiastic Bunq user and more than willing to pay a Premium free for a modern banking experience that puts banking first and offers a good portfolio of features. Unfortunately, the V3 update seems to go another direction - UX got worse for example with confusing menus and it seems that focus was more on social features instead of new possibilities like investment possibilities (ETFs, Stocks...). Currently not very happy but convinced that Bunq will keep developing further!

payments declined due to 3d secure with Google pay does not work! big issue is also the 500 withdrawal limit per day. with inflation this should go up. in my experience it should be 1000 euro. sepa transfers are slow over weekends.

It's gone downhill, fast Bunq used to be great- even when they raised their prices, I stuck with them purely because of their excellent features. However, the UI is horribly designed, support is hard to access by design (in my opinion) and customer support is non-existent.

App is buggy and navigation is quite messy, sometimes even money transactions go wrong, vitual credit cards and physical debit cards are not accepted everywhere. It seems like Bunq spends more brainpower on their marketing then in their actual tech developement :/ Been happy with them for quite some years but now seriously considering switching

Excellent on many levels, especially in terms of the otherwise frustrating text-only customer service. The lack of human contact (phone, in person) remains a massive obstacle. Ethical concerns persuaded me to join the bank but, especially given the difficulties I've been having with my Local Currencies account, I am beginning to suspect, regretfully, that a more conventional bank such as HSBC might be closer to my needs.

update: gave less prio to battery use for bunq app - for now, solved, thanks! -- Drain on battery since last release. The app is good to use, but since the last release, bunq now has battery usage for 14 hrs during period of 24 hours.

EVERYONE: DO NOT UPDATE!!! ANYONE ELSE: ROLL BACK!!! this update is horrible in every way and will break simple banking and much more, my virtual cards now appear canceled without reason and I have over €10.000 in my account - this is ridiculous - can't even find SUPPORT and no one replies from BUNQ. roll back everyone! you've been warned. I have re-installed an old version. BUNQ: Really guys!?!?!? 😠😤😭😫 .... As of today the clown party update is mandatory so we're all doomed! 😐 I switched
