Burger Time

The object of the game is to complete a number of hamburgers while avoiding enemy foods. When main protagonist, chef Mr. Pepper, the player's character, walks the length of an ingredient (bun, meat patty, tomato, etc.), it falls one level. If it lands atop another ingredient, the latter in turn falls one level. A burger is completed when all vertically aligned ingredients have been dropped out of the maze and onto a waiting plate. Once all burgers are completed, the game level is finished.
While making burgers, the player must avoid the antagonists, three types of enemies: Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg. Enemies can be dodged, stunned, crushed with a falling ingredient, or dropped by luring them onto an ingredient and then causing it to fall. In this last case, the piece will fall much farther than normal, depending on how many enemies are on it. Enemies that have been crushed or dropped return to the maze after a few seconds. Dropped enemies award larger point values than crushed ones; therefore, to obtain a high score, the player must attract more than one enemy onto an ingredient just before dropping it.
Mr. Pepper has pepper shots to shake on nearby enemies to stun and render them harmless for a few seconds. Extra shots are obtained by collecting bonus foods, such as coffee, an ice cream cone, or French fries, which appear in the center of the maze when a certain number of ingredients have dropped.
There are six screens of increasing difficulty, with more burgers and enemies, burgers that have more parts, and/or layouts that make it easier for Mr. Pepper to be cornered and harder for him to reach the ingredients. Completing all six screens takes the player back to the first one.

Almost everything is excellent! I found out by chance that you can make it landscape, which makes it so much easier to control. The only thing I wish it had was an easier mode where the chef moves a bit slower and the condiments slower. Thank You So Much For Bringing Back One Of My Favorite Games! Edit... Also it needs a swipe control that lets you swipe the direction that works anywhere on the screen.

Controlling character issues: The arrow pad is on the lower left side of the screen. If using a Samsung Galaxy, you end up minimizing your app mid-play because the down arrow is right against the phone's minimize button. And if you're right handed, like the majority of the population, you have a difficult time moving the character with your left thumb with any degree of accuracy. Deleted after 1 day. Disappointed because I miss playing this game from my childhood.

Burger Time was one of my favourite arcade games, so I was really happy to find it in the Play Store. Sadly, I met with disappointment as the controls are not easy to use or responsive enough, so it didn't bring back the enjoyment I used to have with the original Burger Time.

4 stars, because the sound and graphics are very much like the original arcade game. The only thing I don't like, is the controlling buttons are kind of hard to get used to. Glad that your studio developing team has made this classic available for play

one star for the music and feel of the classic game. -4 for the controls. it's impossible to turn the character where you want to avoid losing a life. it's a nice try and almost there.... but not yet.

Controller is too small. I tried the dynamic controller in the settings as well. More control options (possibly joystick) would improve gameplay. Overall quite a good remake of the 80s game including the music.

Really poor after latest update will be uninstalling! When trying to configure controller layout bottom of screen is not accessible so you can't fit the buttons back in. Whilst manoeuvring the chef he stops if you change direction. Not as smooth after the update.

This game is fun. However, the controls should be in the center and the pepper button should be inside the control curcle. Would be alot easier to navigate the chef.

The controls are horrible. The control pad is not intuitive...are you supposed to keep tapping the direction you want to go or keep your finger on it to keep moving? I am disappointed.

**TURN GAME TO LANDSCAPE MODE TO PLAY**everyone griping about the update, and I will admit at first i was going to, because I didnt think to try it in landscape mode (turn the phone sideways to play) because before I discovered the landscape mode way to play I couldn't play and was getting mad. Thank goodness I figure it out. Hope everyone reads this post so they can play again. Let me know it this helps everyone out.

Great Game! The Control Pad was tricky at first until I realized that you can go into "preferences" and re-arrange the on screen layout to make the Control Pad like 4x larger!! Then the fun begins 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Just like the Intellivision classic! Just the controls are difficult, but if it is possible to connect a Bluetooth controller, this game would be Heavenly.

Controller is terrible and makes it impossible to play the game. Would be great otherwise. Would be nice if you could just swipe the screen in the right direction and not have to be in a specific spot.

I used to love this game. 😊 🤗 I have a mini Arcade Game of this game & it'sa mini version that looks just like the other, larger version but just one/100th of size of the big one in an arcade. It's small for on your lap to play. Well, that's how I play!! ♥️🤗

It's NOT Intellivision Burgertime but some altered version of the Arcade version and its impossible to play because of the on screen controls you can't operate if you are looking at the game play.

Couldn't get it to fit the screen on my phone to play it. Adding an option to resize game would be a great addition. Game looked great just could not play it.

Exactly like the game from the 80s, right down to the graphics and soundtrack. The ad at the top sometimes gets in the way and I'd be willing to pay for an ad-free version, which isn't currently available.

controls aren't responsive, haptic feedback may help on the arrow keys. very difficult to play I loved this game in the arcade version

Impossible to see, impossible to control, impossible to know what to do or how. I had this game on my Nokia flip phone back in 2006 & it was infinitely better rendered & playable than this junk. 🍔🕖👎

This was my favorite game as a kid but, the controller is not sensitive and off to the left when it should be center. While playing, my phone will switch screens and I die. Do a better job, guys.

The game itself is fine and pretty true to the original but trying to control movement on a cell phone screen? Pretty much impossible....

Ast. K. Dec 30, 2018

Was hoping to play a game I loved as a kid. The controls were HORRIBLE off set, hard to maneuver, and didnt respond!! Dont waste your time!!!!

Ant. C. Oct 29, 2021

The game controls are no longer on the screen, so you cannot play. All that needs to be done is for the developer to reformat the views, then this game would be good again.

very hard to get anywhere with how the "joystick" is set up. played for about 30 seconds then deleted the app

As i still have the original cartridge version, and play it occasionally, this is almost exactly like the Matel Intellivision version. I'm not sure what Matel thinks about other people publishing their property though.
