Very cool and comfortable app that has a very nice support in case of any issue that might happen. However, the app has a bit of too aggressive policies regarding user account security in my opinion. E.g. password restore, possibility to change a phone number for the account or having multiple phone numbers per email, etc.
An app bug led to fine. The app continues to show a ticket as available even after the time expires, but eventually shows old tickets as expired. as a result, i had what i thought was a valid ticket because it came up as available, but it had passed the time. The ticket inspector indicated that i should be able to appeal after I demonstrated the error in the app, but when I went to the office to discuss with staff they very rudely dismissed this as my own fault.
Useless! I used this app to by a ticket but when the ticket controler came, the app could not call up the ticket! I showed the controler the email receipt that for the purchse, but that wasn't good enough. I had to get off the train and get a fine. I was told that I could show my ticket online, but obviously the S-Bahn website doesn't work either. IF you were clever you would email a copy of the ticket with the receipt; but you are not clever, and you are making this city a worse place.
Try multiple times to purchase a ticket and receive a "cannot reach the server" error. It finally goes through and, guess what, got two tickets instead of one. No contacts in app, so I write an email, they tell me to open a claim on PayPal, claim gets dismissed. I guess I should be thankful I was not buying anything expensive. Update: after a day of contacting the suggested email I got a refund, so I'm upping the rating
Nice app but your "live map" is nothing but a bad joke. It shoes busses but it has nothing to do with reality! Edit: When you want to buy tickets theres issues regularly! Cryptic error messages and then thats it. Thats very, very annoying. I really dont know why after so many years its still not a hundred percent. One would think that with each generous yearly price raise things would get better but thats not the case unfortunately.
I got fined 60 💶 because this app. It was misleadingly showing to me that my request was getting processed. I boarded the S-Bahn assuming that the transaction will go through but it didn't. The app was fully frozen and I couldn't even try to buy ticket again.
Just terrible! Security questions shouldn't be a thing anymore and paypal integration just doesn't work, so in the end I bought a ticket from the machine at the station. Ultimately just useless
I got a new phone and kept the same number, yet the app asked for a pin and a security question when signing in to buy a ticket. I had no idea what any of these were, so after several wrong attempts the app blocked my account. Zero way of contacting anyone. Absolutely no way of resetting my account, despite obviously having access to my registered email and phone number. Typically terrible German standard of customer service and daft 'Datenschutz' laws. Not impressed. Fix this.
Like all transport apps in Germany it is horrific and angst inducing to use for ticket purchases. It is almost impossible to book a bike ticket without knowing exactly the name of the ticket you are looking for unless you are on one of the route where it helpfully lists the bike ticket. The UI is full of buttons that take you to the same place and the payment processing always manages to trigger MFA with my bank.
I'm trying to buy a ticket. I tap the "buy" button, nothing happens for 5 seconds, must be that I missed it. I tap again, it works now but I end up buying 2 identical tickets. No refund option either. Please disable the buy button once you start processing a purchase and indicate it visually.
It is not possible to buy any tickets after the first time; the App asks me to register again, but then it does not let me register with the same phone number (or email). I wrote to the support staff three weeks ago and still didn't receive any reply. I re-installed the App but the problem persists... quite frustrating. Only useful to check connections.
The app features a very inconvenient way of payment. Aside from a laborious registration process that required me to enter many personal details, the app failed to supply the ticket I paid for, instead showing an error message, which is very displeasing for an app that should allow me to pay quickly for my ticket in order to catch the S Bahn. I took me multiple tries to purchase a single ticket. To be honest, the next time I visit Berlin, I will rather pay for the ticket using a vending machine.
Worked well for some time and than started showing internal error 900 when trying to activate already paid ticket. Update: trick provided by support worked, but error hasn't been fixed yet. sometimes when buying new tickets, app runs in endless "loading" circle, independent on payment method or internet connection. Full of bags
Very helpful features, gave it only 4 because of issue 1- When buying 4 cards, one has to fill the station before buying, and then all cards will have this station as starting point making it not possible to use another card for return trip, as it is not allowed. Better to ask for the station when validating new card, not when purchasing, 2- Make validating first card from 4 to be done manually after purchase, and not automatically
Installed the app on my new phone and purchased a ticket but when going to view the ticket the page is blank. Tried 3 times - each time the app said I had purchased a ticket in my ticket history but when I click on the ticket to display the QR scan the page is blank. Checked my account balance within account settings and my balance is -8.40 Euros so looks like I'm paying for the 3 tickets I couldnt use :/
Easy to use even for complex trips, very well-thought UX. Also, excellent customer support experience when I needed it.
DON'T USE TO BUY TICKETS! It will either book twice or deliver no ticket but still charge money. The people at the VBB hotline even told me not to use it. I lost €30 because of this pathetic software.
Pointless for me as cannot buy the ticket I use on here (monthly from my town in Brandenburg to Berlin). Why a ticket that they sell should be unavailable on the app is beyond me!
What a terrible app... Every second action results in a "systemfehler", deleting app data helps at least. Takes way more time to use this than the ticket machines
It show the routine schedule, not the live map. Don't waste your time and internet traffic for this useless app. Support can speak only German. One star is very for this app. What are you talking about? It is totally irrelevant.
The app and user experience is terrible. Who uses secret question and answer to reset pin in this world? No way to reset pin if you forget your secret question. Lolz finally uninstalled it.
I use this app as long as i come to germany. but it has a problem while ticket buying online. when i chose the right time i need to buy ticket online the time start automatic to count from the time i buy the ticket. indirectly the ticket expires before i start my trip. so it were good if the ticket starts from the right time that i choose the departure. it was good if modified.
Since a few weeks now, the app crashes on startup. Maybe I should reinstall, but do I loose my paid tickets then? Update: I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, still does not work.
After buying a new phone, I can no longer use this app. I don't remember the PIN, there is no way to reset it and the info/support section just gives an error message.
I selected to buy a regional ticket for the next day, but when I pressed buy a ticket, the ticket was validated from the moment of the purchase ! This is unprofessional app.., it wasted my money.
Always have to uninstall and reinstall app to buy new ticket since it won't let me login even when I use the right pin. Now it won't even let me buy a ticket at all.
doesn't work You get a fresh pin from the service centre, and it doesn't work. Staff say it's almost useless. ++++ In response to their answer, why not apologize, or train the customer support staff?
The new process for buying tickets is completely unusable - one has to enter TWO separate codes from the keyboard, each and and every time. Because one of these comes as an SMS, one can no longer buy a ticket at all if WiFi works, but there is no cell reception. This basically eliminates any reason for using this app - much better alternatives are available for looking up the schedules.
