busuu - Easy Language Learning

The course looks really well made. The big issue is that key parts of the course are locked if you don't get Premium, making the free version of the app pretty much useless. Premium should give access to extra, optional features. It shouldn't be mandatory in order to do the course. The first lessons are all unlocked in the free version, tricking you into thinking that you can actually follow the course. When you have invested some time in the app, you realise you need to buy Premium...

Software is excellent and seems like it does its job, but even you pay annual subscription, it annoys with ads to buy other courses! I don't want to see ads at all! Please kinly fix it. Update after one week. Ads are so annoying. I see them each 10 minutes. Just crazy! What if i don't want to buy additional courses? Where is an option to mark as not interested at all?

It would be a very good app, if only ithey would finally fix the bugs. It's slow, buttons are not responsive, you have to press them multiple times (especially the lesson complete/continue pages), and sometimes it doesnt work at all and you have to exit out of the app entirely and launch it again. I've signficantly reduced my usage of the app because it's so annoying and frustrating to use. Otherwise the structure and material is great.

I like this app, it is very nice and has very good methodology for learning a new language. The only problem is community, it is very hard to get any feedback on exercises, I am currently learning French B1, 90% of my exercises do not get any correction from other users. Authors should add some automatic correction in this case, otherwise exercises are meaningless.

Nice and easy to use. Less boring compare to other Apps. Flexible, go inside the time you want. Even 5 minutes. Very intuitive. There's is also a way to use a foreign language instead of native one's (I am French and choose English) to work German. It's a way to improve a language you know (English) and learn another. Language in brackets are just example. Feel free to choose the languages you want. Enjoy learning whit Busuu.

This app is the first one that worked for me. It drives me to study. Here are some suggestions for a better user experience : 1- have a loading indicator/progress when swithing to the next activity. 2- the rewarding moment(giving stars) is taking long, make it short please. 3- the history of your learning progress is not working perfect, needs some work. 4- add delete button in the word card itself to delete it easily.

The app works great. My issue is that I use both app and the browser version. In browser daily objective is by times in the app by stars, and they do not synchronize. So if I work 1 hour on my computer, I see no daily work in the app. Please fix this issue. This problem was not there before. Thanks

The app is really good to learn a language. But I find out that it's impossible to login with my email if my first login in was using "connect with google account". Also, when i log out with google account and then try to login again, the system says there're some errors. I don't know why. I have to delete the app and install again! Plus, it's impossible to bind both my phone number and email together to access busuu. Hope it can improve.

Very serious app but you will finish all the exercises quickly. Useful if you start to learn a new language from the beginning. If you are already B1 ou B2 don't buy it because after ending all the exercises it's simply over... For instance you have 30 lessons B2, each lesson lasts around 5 to 10 minutes and that's all...

I love busuu. It really works for me in learning languages. The best part is that we can connect with the native. But there's something I want to recommend. In the correction session, the native speakers correct your mistakes and we need to save some advices. For me, I screenshot the correction if it's a text. So it's not a big deal when the native speakers use texts. But for audio, how could we save? So we need a space to save the corrections and it would be better if we can DM with native.

It was good before, but only having one free lesson a day and the ridiculous amount of bugs, this app is just going downhill. Also, every time the app has discounts for the premium plan, it bugs and doesn't even allow me to see the premium page. Clearing data, reinstalling or whatever does not help. Too bad, Busuu really doesn't want to make things easy.

Getting a bit annoyed with the app recently. It's become real glitchy. I cleared my history to start learning languages from scratch. It would stop loading test questions and I would have to exit and restart. Now it won't let me continue learning French because "I unlocked a new feature" but it wouldn't let me click anything. I exited and restarted my phone, still the same problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now it won't let me login. I pay a lot of money for it. I expect more.

LLE: I had to uninstall and reinstall the app then my Premium kicked in. I got set back a few lessons, but I needed a recap anyway. LE: I just got Busuu Premium, but the app still tells me to come back tomorrow for the next lesson. Do I need to do anything to activate Premium? --- Really good app. I've tried a few other apps for language learning and I like this the best. I especially like the fact that you also get some explanations and tips on when to use different words or expressions.

Used to love it. I used it last year to learn some Japanese, i stopped using it for a while. When i came back, i could still see all the vocab in my review section, but the progress in the home learning page is all gone. I have to watch videos per lesson in order to progress back to where i was last time. Deleted. Each lesson only takes a few minutes, a 30s ad feels too long and stops my motivation progress.

Very good app but very slow progress unless you pay. You can get about 10 minutes out of it per day for free and it's enough to be helpful while you use other apps like duolingo. My favourite part is that you can have your exercises corrected by native speakers of the language you're learning and you can correct other users learning your own language.

I have been learning italian with Busuu Premium for almost a year now. Overall the app does its job but there are some problems which make it annoying to use. The biggest problem is that sometimes the app does not realize that you completed a certain topic. So when you are trying to review the grammar you can't do it because apparently you haven't learned it yet. Besides that it is really annoying that after you corrected another student you get a notification every time someone does the same.

I really enjoy having Busuu, it has been a big help with my learning Japanese. Also no ads pop up all the sudden, nor do they pop up at all, which is nice. It also is very easy to use, along with repeated bringing up what you have learned (I mean with atleast for languages like Japanese, where you have to learn their alphabet, it'll bring up the characters again and again) I'd say it's overall a great quality app, and would totally recommend it.

A great way to learn languages! Easy, interactive and complete, the only thing I've noticed lately is the vocab and grammar section being pretty low to load, I think it may be because we have to wait until every word loads. I'd be glad if you could change that. A "load more" option could be very helpful to make it easier for us when we don't want to access *all* the vocabulary. Just the revision page. I like it so far, but I'm giving 2 stars only because it asks me to play video to unlock the next level but most times, the video does not play no matter how many times I try. And guess what, when I click on the continue as free, that one works instantly. Its so disappointing. I have no problem watching the videos, but let it play so I can move on to the next level, stop forcing me to pay or stay hours without moving to the next level coz the video advert won't play!

One of the best Japanese resources available. I learned hiragana and katakana from somewhere else. I started to learn words and some grammar through different apps but it was hard. I was barley progressing. Within the first few months of using Busuu, I was able to speak basic Japanese and form sentences properly. Excellent lessons and plenty of usage examples. Lots of practice questions too. Love it.

They are relentless when trying to get you to subscribe to their services. Otherwise, it really is a great language learning app. It uses a vastly improved version of Duolingo's method, incorporating more classical teaching styles with the flashcard quiz-based system. This makes for a significantly more organized and logical approach that directly contrasts the chaotic styles of its predecessor. Despite this, it still ended up feeling more "videogame-y" than Duolingo.

I am really impressed with the app. I've been studying Japanese through various apps for a while now and I really feel like none of them tie it all together as well as Busuu. The course is good until about the intermediate level, after which it feels like the lessons stop and they just throw new vocabulary at you. However, they update with new lessons frequently so the course is continuing to improve.

Busuu is my favorite language-learning app because you get exposed to how the languages are spoken by the people on the street today, and you get corrections and instructions from real native speakers. I have to dock them a star, though, because there's a lot of bad English in the app, which makes me worried for the languages I'm studying...though it seems like there might only be problems in English, hopefully. Unfortunately you can't even report these issues as you'll only get error messages.

This is a great app for learning languages except for one huge problem. When learning German, several of the nouns are taught without the definite article shown in front of the word. Mamy have them, but several dont. You have to have this in order to learn the language correctly, especially when picking the correct adjective endings. Huge deficiency.

Every time I attempt the placement test, I get about 3/4 of the way through and then it throws me out because of a 'connection issue'. Just to be clear, it's not on my side. But what an utterly frustrating start and total waste of time. I wanted to try out an alternative to Duolingo - looks like the search will continue...

I think this is the one of the few apps which really understand how language learning works . The content is really great. But there are a few flaws . I don't like the audios for Chinese and Japanese .They sound very robotic especially, the dialogues. I am using busuu for Spanish. Spanish lessons are the best ,I think.

I really like this app. The lessons are not boring but rather fun and entertaining. There are lots of languages supported and I like that you can access all of those with one subscription. It also doesn't discourage making mistakes unlike duolingo. In lessons there are dialogues and lots different tasks. The community feature that helps people help each other is useful, although people don't respond really often unless you get lucky. The price is extremely affordable too. Overall, I recommend it

It's awesome. It's not just an app for learning languages with common topics and boring exercises. It a platform with well consistent programm, lots of different exercises and really usefull topics. Could you help me: how many friends should I add to get free trial. Two of them already did, but I didn't get anything. Thanks Will you add Swedish somewhen?

Seems to integrate several aspects in to one place. (listening/speaking/reading) and potentially some language exchange with other app users! which I haven't seen many other apps do. I'm just getting started again after a long break from studying Japanese so I already know alot of what I'm being shown. Looking forward to making it back to the more advanced stuff.
