Very simple and effective if you just want a random (or categorically curated) stream of stories. But if you tap the headline in your notifications, and watch a completely unrelated article appear, pretty much without exception. At first, the Alert Stream view didn't let me browse stories chronologically (bug?), just kept prompting me to pick my favorite categories. Once I ignored it enough times I was finally able to read specific stories (brought it up to 3 stars).

Sorry, not for me. No dark mode. No tablet (landscape) mode. No customization of categories. No list view for headlines, only large pictures. If you are looking for a suitable replacement for Google News & Weather, this is not the one. Uninstalling. App does not remember my notification preferences (unselect all). Each time I open the app, all notifications are enabled.

Pretty decent news app. Having experienced nearly every major news app out there, BuzzFeed's news app's simllicity of design is pretty refreshing. My only critique would be I'd like to see more original journalism and news stories. Maybe some analysis and opinion options as well. Great design though. I really do appreciate the simple, sleek design. Over all a solid app, not a whole lot of journalism.

If you have notifications turned on, new headlines will pop up. And if you click on the notification, so that you can read the article, the app will present you with a completely different article. The most recent example that triggered this review was: I opened my phone and saw a notification for an article about the Hong Kong protests, and when I clicked to read more, I was presented with an article about a new Mulan trailer. I couldn't even find the article about Hong Kong on their homepage.

Used to love this app. With latest updates, news stories are just opening up the web site rather than natively within the app. Which means I'm getting "download our app!" pop ups WHILE I'm browsing with the app. Very frustrating.

BuzzFeed has really exceeded my expectations! I anticipated they would be OK, and loaded the app because I had a vacant spot on my news-feed screen. But this has site has shown itself to be OUTSTANDING. Always quick with breaking news, but with much more depth and insight, it has quickly become my go-to source for both national and international news.

the articles feel rushed, the information hasnt been fact checked and overall very bias. was looking for an alternative news app as i was looking for a change. think I'm sticking with other apps like Flipboard for the time being

I used to watched BuzzFeed all the time, and I really enjoyed it. I lost connection because of the many phones, that I parted with. I was reading a news link and saw BuzzFeed news input. I said to myself, "there goes my BuzzFeed, let me download the application before it disappears from me." So, I download the application, and here I am again. It is so amazing that BuzzFeed is one of my best choices in the news world, if not the best. I really like it. Way to go, BuzzFeed.

Appreciate the news this app provides but it does not refresh often enough. It seems like headlines stick around for longer than they ought to given how much is going on in the world.

This was a terrible app. It kept crashing, and there were so many ads I couldn't even read the incredibly biased news anyway. So I guess all the ads helped.

Articles cannot be reported for false information or gross misinformation. It's part of why the media is swaying people in misinformed ways. Removed the app from my phone. Don't install unless you want pure one-sided crapfilled articles. Thought this was supposed to have all sides. Used to respect buzzfeed. Very very disappointed in this.

Buzzfeed gets a bad rap as a waste-of-time site for Zoomers. But the news department has done some really great long-form reporting and has gotten the scoop and broken the news on several important stories. Highly recommend.

Accurate News. One of the many news sources I don't mind reading as it is hard to find accurate news sources anymore who try to misconstrue everything. I just want the real story. That and sources other than cnn and msnbc. It's good to broaden my horizons lol.

I am using this app using googles mobile screen reader talk back. This app is fairly accessible, but the buttons are not labeled. I have to guess what the button functions are. Accessibility is inclusion

I don't see what these screens hots are showing. The view is flat and boring. When I try setting alert stream topics, I will see items I unchecked. Love Buzzfeed but not this app. Uninstalling now.

Top Buzz transfer here, and this is a pretty good replacement, but I hope they expand into just idle entertainment, and time killing rabbit holes....but even if they don't, I'll still be using it for news.

Needs to be updated more often. Some current stories are still around a week after first post. Still it is better overall than Google (aka FOX network shrill).

So glad you are back! Takes me 20 sec to scan the TOP stories of the day. They then have multiple articles from different sources so you can get all the DETAILS you want. Awesome App. The best I have found!!!!

Buzzfeed not only keeps me informed during lock down and isolation, it also keeps me entertained and distracted from my own personal hell. Let's me know that a lot of people are in the same situations that I am in.

in a crowded field of fluff pieces, bzfd seems to emerge as one of those rare sources able and willing to investgate and write. Too many intrusive ads though. App seems robust, wish there was an option to dnld for offline reading.

Looking for something on my phone after news Republic closed. Can't create an account and no commenting on stories. I don't and won't install facebook. This is useless to me unless I'm doing something wrong.

Not easy to browse Any site that requires going back to home page rather than swiping from one story to another is more interested in clicks than ease of use.

Really easy app to use. 2 thumbs up. Real news. Not the rehashed stuff I normally see. I like the honest reporting. You can follow the facts and that is very important at this time.

This is activism, not journalism. Many of the garbage, unresearched, clickbaity articles just serve to indoctrinate readers to believe that the social justice trash Buzzfeed propagates is objective reality, when really all it does is lower the reader's IQ by about 70 points. Oh, and the articles that aren't this are just arbitrary lists that serve no journalistic purpose. Would rate 0 out of 5 if I could.

I have numerous news apps, and while my go to ones are the Washington Post and New York Times, Buzzfeed is another excellent source. Highly recommended.

The app loads fast. The story's are revalant to current events. They are also informative.

The app is so simple to use! The best news app, especially for millennials, due to the engaging and dynamic way in which the news articles are written!

decent app. really wish they had more articles that didn't mimic mainstream media. If your looking for a different view on things this isn't your news source

terrible stories and a bad company that has misleadinf articles. quozzes are sometimes ok but sometimes about random things that arent related to the quiz.
