I've loved these trivia games for many years. Why is it taking so long just to make an app that let's you play Countdown, Six, or other games straight up? No need for location, or being dead weight on your phone otherwise. Edit: -1 star for reduced functionality. While the rest of the bar gets clues and an indicator for remaining points due to time, the app doesn't provide this. Step in the right direction, but if you can program on-site tablets to do this, you can get it in a phone app!

Pick a brand and stick with it. The TVs say Topix all over them but Topix isn't on the store. I had to Google around to figure out I needed Buzztime. Buzztime is a better name, put that on the TV instead. The occasional question said it didn't work on this version of the app, which is confusing since there wasn't anything different about it. But it's still in beta.

Sign up was really annoying. I may have had an account from years ago, but who knows...? I eventually gave up and just randomly tried again weeks later and luckily happened to have an account with the app. What's even worse is that the app didn't allow me to answer the 10th and final question in any round. The one thing it's supposed to do, it doesn't do correctly. I'd rather have those clunky bar units from 15 years ago back.

Incorrect answers do not disappear. Also, if you get the question incorrect you do not find out the correct answer. I also didn't get to see all players' scores, only my own and the rank. This was for the second time I used the app during the mid-day Countdown game. The first time I played The Late Shift and those answers did go away as the time counted down.

The app does not show you the questions like they do on the tv screen wherever you play. If the questions match exactly what you see on the bar/restaurant screen or tablet then this app is great. It is neither. What you see does not reflect the live game. You need to be at the location playing the game live. Update: Thank you Buzztime for adding the questions and answers to Trivia Live. This makes it much more easier to follow the tv screen without having to get the tablet. Great work!

I wish I could use my trivia handle and password for the account, but this app has different criteria. Once I selected a password that checked all the boxes, I could not log in. Also, I needed to "select" my birthday, which meant I had to flip through hundreds of calendar pages to get the correct year. Have an option to enter the date manually, please!

Not great. First, when I tried to log in, they wouldn't let me in to the point where I had to reset my password to my original password for it to work. Once I got in, the geo-locator worked... until I got stuck searching for games. Was playing in my Buffalo Wild Wings in Reynoldsburg, OH. Pressing refresh does nothing, and I was unable to join both a game going on and a new game that was starting. Please fix your app before you advertise it to everyone.

Unusable in Current Form. Unable to sign in, app does not recognize credentials. I can't even reset my password on the website from the email link sent to me. After two separate attempts entering a new eight-character password all I get is an error message telling me my password must be between 4 and 16 characters, which it is. Update 21 Jul 2019: Sign in / password reset issue solved. After many attempts over several days, I can finally sign in. This may or may not be correct but it seems like the password reset issue in an incorrect, red font error message stating that your new password must be between 4 and 16 characters. I used multiple 8 character passwords in an attempt to reset, all failed and resulted in the error message. Once I got up to an 11 character, mixed case, alphanumeric password it went right through, no issue.

I tried playing at home on my Chromebook. The overall app is designed in the narrow cell phone format and most of the screens display properly in this format. However those screens requiring a player response attempt to display in a full Chromebook format on the narrow cell phone format and thus most of the question answers do not appear on the screen. Thus it is impossible to play.

The app doesn't show the questions, just the answers. My wife and I were at Bdubs and we had to keep looking up at the tv to see the questions. It took longer to answer. Then they changed the channel on the only tv that was showing buzztime. Then we couldn't see any questions. We play trivia a lot, and the old playmaker app worked pretty well. Hopefully this one will be better after beta is done.

Doesn't seem to work on my Samsung Galaxy. It opens and looks aesthetically great however no game actually ever loads no matter which facility I go to. I have a lot of Hope for this because I travel a lot except that while it will show me locations near me when I click on them the only thing I can do is then close a message saying I'm not close enough it doesn't give you the actual address of the location so if you're not familiar with the area you can find it. Very disappointed lots of potentia

I know it's still a beta version but I don't like not having any clues as time runs down and not seeing the other players scores in the bar. I was away from the tvs so I only had my phone app to play but I felt out of the competition. If this gets corrected, it should be fine!

FOR EVERYONE OUT THERE. Please read entirety to understand. The application is meant to be played at establishments that have Buzztime. But there is a workaround!!! I know this works for Androids but iPhones it is harder. First, you will need to download FakeGPS. It is easy to install on an Android (good luck iPhone users cause it is a lot harder). Then you just pick the location where they have Buzztime. Then load Buzztime. It will pickup the location(s) and now you are ready to play. I have played at sites 1000+ miles away. Hope this helps!!!

I'm so ecstatic that I can play from home, but I keep getting the message "no games found" when trying to connect to a restaurant. Sometimes it'll work but other times it will not. Please update. Also, you should be able to view the leaderboard all throughout the game rather than just at the end of give questions. Thanks! Update: currently trying to play SIX and it won't let me or any of my friendd inti the game as we sit here and hit refresh.

The app has been disabled for us with the "upgrade" in March. We used to be able to play at four locations, but with the March upgrade, we could only play at the location closest to our home. That location has cancelled Buzztime because of the pandemic, so now we can't play anywhere! The Fort Lowell Depot in Tucson, Arizona, no longer has Buzztime. We have our points at Native Grill and Wings now, but we still cannot play there because we are "too far away (2.03 miles)" Can you please make it available to us so we can at least have one place to play? My wife is handicapped and she loves to play at night when I am sleeping. Please update your records to reflect that Depot is no longer available. We have been playing for 22 years and would love to be able to continue. Your immediate attention to this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

States "You are ready to play!" after logging in, and then does...absolutely NOTHING. Stays like that on that screen no matter what you do, whether you log out and back in again, or wait for 15 minutes. This app is utterly WORTHLESS garbage. Which is a shame because I love the in-restaurant play. But with COVID restrictions, they have removed the tablets, so as of right now there is no way to play any of the games. Sad.

Your app still refuses to operate properly at multiple locations. Doesn't matter whether I'm on WiFi or phone data. Always says no connection per starts to work and then says no connection. Totally useless app. The app this replaced actually worked.

I tried to use this app this morning to play a game, but it says I'm out of range of the closest location. The range of reception needs to go from 2 miles to a good 10 miles. I'll change my review when this is done. I was trying to connect to Buffalo wild wings in Hazel Dell, by the way.

It claims to be available to play in all locations, yet it doesn't give me any locations to play. I guess maybe it still wants you to be close to a certain location? Sucks because after the buffalo wild wings got rid of buzztime the closest location with it is over 100 miles away when there used to be one like 2 miles away from me. Please let people who don't have the fortune of being close to a place with buzztime play as well!

This would be useful if the questions appeared on the app. The location where I play does not always have a screen with the game in a convenient spot. I can see the questions (thanks), but now it can't find any games at my location, Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbia. Is that the app or the location's fault? Now I see that Spotlight is not supported by the app. When will Spotlight be added? My usual location ditched their tablets.

edit: still doing this two months later. app will not work. it has been updated. dropped from 2 stars to 1 since the error is still not fixed. Crawfordsville Indiana Bdubs Usually enjoy the app. today, it won't let me play. it says I am not close enough to the location. I am inside it. 🤷‍♀️

Worthless in its current state. I can't even sign in. It keeps saying "invalid credentials" despite proper login and even resetting the password makes no difference. I'm running it on the Samsung S10 so I can't blame it on "old out of date phone".

Enjoy the app as a way to play trivia without having to use the bar-based devices and the fact that I can play while not at the bar in question (especially during the lockdowns). Is it possible to enable the "SHOWDOWN" game on the app? That game is one of my favorites, so am missing it.

it's awesome how you have to struggle with trying to submit your DOB (pop up calendar only that you have tap a thousand times to go back 40 years) only to be presented with a "fix your errors" notice with no way to tell where the error is. good job.

Sitting at 3 stars now bc of the potential the app has. Just need to work past the beta kinks. For example I'm playing at the Jumpin Joe's location in Freeport, IL and as I'm watching others play my app can't find the game that's happening right in front of me.

when trying to sign up it says my emails are already taken even though its my first time signing up. i try to select forgot password and it just says oops! try again later. its happened 10 times already and hasn't been fixed. i believe this would be a good app once its fixed more. Also i think entering in your birthdate would be easier than trying to scroll forever to your birth year

Completely unacceptable. I have the latest update and upon attempting to play at a location it tells me the game is not playable with this version of the app? Get it together, 1 star rating and an utter joke. Frackie's in Davenport, Iowa was the location.

It doesn't operate all like the physical game pad. most the games aren't even available and for the countdown trivia, the scores dont count down and the hints dont appear. So its 1000pts or 0. what a waste. I had so much hope for this too.

I know this is beta, but it could use some work. It is a pain to log in on the app as the in-house boards I signed in on are caps only whereas your average smart phone does not have a caps lock. Therefore you have to uppercase everything in the username and password or it fails. If the standard is to have all caps username and passwords, the app should uppercase everything for you. Also, my favorite game (Showdown) doesn't seem to support the app. Major Bummer!

We love Buzztime Trivia but we can no longer play it because there are no places that do it since we moved and we are out of range from playing it on the app. We are hoping that Buzztime expands to different locations in the Midlothian Virginia area. What happened with Buffalo Wild Wings??
