I think there is a bug that if connection is lost or if app is minimized during the time when I'm waiting for purchase confirmation - ticket fails to download even though money had been paid. This happened many times to me and is very poor engineering. Luckily I hadn't run into ticket police yet under this circumstance.
DO NOT USE TO BUY TICKETS. I cannot emphasize this enough. As noted by others app is super buggy and did not download purchased ticket, had to buy again as there were ticket inspectors. All the staff I spoke to refused to help, refused to refund duplicate purchase or give me ticket paid for.
This app is terrible when it comes to helping direct you with the walking parts. It's not accurate when it comes to showing you where you need to go regarding transfers and directional accuracy.
Cant take screenshot of ticket and ticket, buggy app, often ticket are not activated and user is logged out, and then 60 seconds stupid rule. Does BVG know in 60 seconds how much can a tram roll, one full stop? Activate ticket, board tram, and the thugs fine you. And yes, well ticket collectors are actually thugs. Incompetent-untrained, and rudeness is hallmark of them, and they are just in rush to fine, scare and harass the passenger to get their commissions. My trust in BVG is shaken.
The 500 word limit can't explain how convoluted and outdated the UI and UX of this app is: font too small. Different maps in pdf format, then just an actual geographic app, a bvg news header. I understand bvg has zero Money, but you got to bring this app in the 21 century mate. Google London tube app, Google city mapper app...the answers are out there.
Terrible payment provider. Takes a long time to pay and then fails for no reason. Sometimes I try to buy a ticket when the train is 1 minute away and I'm still waiting for 5 minutes on the train. Update: it's 6pm on a week night and you can't buy a ticket because the app is down for maintenance, what a bloody great idea!!! This has to be the worst app I've ever used
If there was a price for the worst most scammy app for use of general public this one would win. Each time I get ticket I have to google and decipher what the difference between round and return trip is. Up till today I can't figure it out. All information is super vague - they did a great job to make sure the user make a mistake so the company can fine them for using it wrong. Maybe actually define what return trip, round trip, interruption and change means giving a practical use case for each.
I use this app every day. The basic functionality works well, but it is very frustrating that the found routes in the Trip Planner always disappear when the app is closed for a while or when displaying a ticket. I often want to look up at which station I have to change (and on which platform I have to go for the connection, etc.) while I'm on a bus or train already, and it's always gone and I have to repeat the search, which then shows different results because it's a later time. please fix :(
For a first test: very well, helped me enormously to make my way thru the "jungle". As an only occasional visitor to the city, it was much less hassle free than before. Also great: the pedestrial path to the destination is included! The tutorial is quite condensed, more info would b helpful. But the essentials can be learned fast. Some additional alarms would be desirable tho: - when the goal station is approaching - when the wrong direction is taken (by foot or public transport)
Great app, does exactly what it should do. I was able to make my way around Berlin very easily. The app gives an easy to understand overview with warnings for potential delays or changes in the schedules. I can't say much about the ticket system in the app as I used a Tageskarte
The app is absolut rubbish in the last week or so- l've been charged twice the double amount on the same purchases of a 4-Trip ticket and a 4-short-trip ticket. When I recalled the charges through my bank, I fast immediately got an invoice from Logpay with an invoice for the incorrect amount plus almost 10€ of late fees to pay and my account has been blocked for further usage...! also, they have already charged the correct amounts on another day, so I guess I owe them nothing and i received a vague email from BVG apologising and telling that they are sorry for the technical issues and double bookings, and all is good now, but my account is still blocked and unusable!!!
It's working kind of. I constantly need to re-login, my payment data is forgotten and for an app that you use in the minutes before you take a ride this is horrible. Also often Login in doesn't work so I have to manually get a ticket. Problems that shouldn't be there in 2022.
Often gives routes that are faster and more realistic than Google maps. Google, for example, can't handle the complexity of some of the larger stations; this app factors in your walk time during transfers far better, and it has the option to adjust your expected walking speed.
App is fine *if* it's actually showing what's happening. With recent construction around Potsdam's S-Bahn, the App is incredibly inaccurate. Either it shows trains that are not running, or it's showing trains that are running normally as canceled. Might be a problem with the database - but it's really not that useful right now.
Very disappointing functionality - mostly is useless even comparing to the Google maps: although an info on common transport may be updated, the app doesn't exclude non-functioning routes from the suggestions. I don't recommend it. A simple PDF-formatted map happened to be much more useful than... This creation.
To start on a positive note, the app is more reliable than Google maps, which is absolutely rubbish in Berlin. However, the BVG app is also pretty useless when you need realtime information, e.g. when services on an underground line are cut. In that case, it showed me, that I should take the line without service with a little warning triangle that trains are actually not going without telling me what actually is going. In general, the app also suggested itenaries with unnecessarily long walks.
Tried to pay via credit card, doesn't accept it because it can't do 3D authentication (or doesn't work). Tried via PayPal, but app links to the online version (not the app) for which I don't know the password by heart. Short: I wanted to pay, but couldn't. Bad payment system.
The two main functions of this app are finding connection and buying tickets. Neither is easy, fast or intuitive to do. There are plenty of apps with much better interface for finding connection (Offi or DB to name a few). As for buying ticket do yourself a favor and just carry around a bunch of paper tickets - even if buying tickets will work in the app it is actually slower than going to the machine! It will just cost you missed trains or fines...
Works fine, except for when you find a connection and then 1 minute later the app has forgotten about it completely and you need to start again. The only way to use it is by taking screenshots every time....
A lot of faff and useless stuff- not easy to navigate. A lot of the information is confusing. A map to show where stops are with the suggested route would be better.
So far good app, except it's not showing re/rb connections within the city. And neither with my mobile data nor wifi I can login. It says please check your internet connection and try again. It's very unfortunate bc I have 2 paid tickets waiting to be used. How can it be solved?
This app is showing wrong information and causing people to miss their flights at the airport sometimes. It shows that FEX will arrive with a delay but the train is actually cancelled and never arrives....
Terrible!😡 I bought a ticket online but it took one minute to activate, the control man was there and asked me for the ticket, he said that it's not activated yet! It needs more TEN SECONDS .. and because of that he gave me a fine and I now I need to pay 60€ plus the ticket that I already bought 😡
Twice has the ticket purchase delay in this app led me to be falsely accused of not having a proper ticket. Nowhere does it clearly state that the tickets must be valid two minutes before entering the vehicle. I have purchased my tickets (over 200 now) as the doors open and I'm still on the platform. Never will i use this ticket application again. Good try to digitalize the system but the enforcement difference of the paper versus digital ticket is insane as it is considered less trustworthy.
New update is bad. Before it worked flawlessly for me. Buying new tickets was fast and even the pre purchased tickets were visible and easy to access. Now it takes forever for them to show up and I have to refresh the app several times and turn off my wifi for it to show up so you can select it. Why did you have to break what worked fine?
For the last year I've been using app fine. Last 2 weeks, I've had pre bought tickets magically activate. And missed several s bahns due to connection time out. The one occasion I took the gamble, a ticket inspector took pitty on me after saying there are lots of problems at the moment. Gone old fashioned until the issue is resolved
Generally nice app, but beware of payment issues. I experienced an error during payment which resulted in money being charged with no email confirmation and no tickets. Contacting support didn't help much and I don't want to spend time fighting about 2€, so just be aware
Searching for stations autocomplete suggestions should show in the near stations first to easier the spelling of the station name, not by alphabet. There is no easy way to know whether you are in zone A, B or C. There should be an option to report any delays or situations during travel.
