Not 100% reliable, some of the analysis is faulty or contradictory. Overall, a good resource for intermediate players.
Very good explanations, good app all around. But it would be nice if I could play moves outside of the joseki to set up positions for studying
It's a pity that one can not enlarge the board as wish. Discerning the alphabets at this size is not easy.
Very well made and easy to understand dictionary.
Good explanations of different Josekis and possible alternatives. Plus it's free. Thank you for your contribution to GO players!
Need to zoom in please. Garbage without that feature.
Great app for learning joseki. I refer to it frequently throughout games!
A concise library. Thank you. Coordinates would win you 5 stars.
Great app with very flexible ui, unlike other similars
really useful if you want to learn joseki. very recommended apps.
Not update.. Cannot compatible with my miu 12.5
although most of the joseki here is outdated, the app still proves useful.
Would be good to make a mini game out of it to rate Joseki completion and rate choice of Joseki given the whole board position
It is a very good app for Go players.
Has most pre-alpha joseki. It's a great resource
Better than the browser version of Kogos that I used to use!
Exactly what I needed. Thank you
Does what you expect
This app does exactly what it claims. Excellent interface to access kogos encyclopedia. Loads quickly and as of yet has not crashed or had persistant gliches to my knowledge. Prior to finding this app accessing kogos through my phones browser was laborious and not worth the effort. Now i have the large database of kogos with me wherever i go. Also no ads or paid content. I couldn't ask for more.
Ok 1 great base code for board with the bw-free app. But the best thing with this joseki instructional is that the developer has given good explanation to every move that needs explanation... very good that they explain it. Kudos, downloaded again! making a nodejs go playing chatbot, lol.
It's nice to have rotate and transpose features. But the analysis descriptions don't change accordingly. For example, when it says 'a' if there is black support at top but it should be at right. I noticed that swapping color changes descriptions as well. It's a shame that the similar adjustment does not apply in rotating and transposing. Nevertheless, it's still worth 5 stars.
App is great. No unneeded permissions. No ads. Does as it says and simply. No bugs detected thus far. My only trouble is fat fingers on tiny pixels. Go board is many positions, so not sure of a built in solution. Maybe a hover zoom would work. I don't like having to use a stylus.
Zoom feature would be good so the user could be more accurate. I don't see why this would be hard since Joseki is all local moves. 90% of the time on this app is spent on the top right corner. Otherwise great app for studying.absolutly no lag between placing moves. Having Kogo's Joseki dictionary on my Android means I can study Go anywhere. A whole world of well thought out information in my left hand and my morning White Mocha Latte in the other.
I'm not sure how up to date the dictionary is with modern joseki, but as a novice, it is valuable to me. The interface is great. It doesn't hold your hand, which will turn off some users. Perhaps there would be some way to guide users towards the most common joseki to learn first? I could envision a mode that reduces the number of choices so that these easy joseki could be focused on first....
Great for late night study. Zoom function would be nice but is not necessary. Maybe make it easier for variations that need separate stones to be viewed
Very useful resource for joseki and variations. Could use an instructions intro like your other app since the drag and tether feature it is implemented but not obvious. Once I learned how to use this I spent a lot less time misclicking!
I really like this app. I can go through different approaches while on my way to work on the bus. A great learning tool.
It's a simple app, that's good at what it does. No special permissions and all that nonsense.
A good addition to this app would a "guess next move" joseki quiz, otherwise a decent program.
Lots of joseki, and all of the standard joseki, I believe. Would be nice if you could also play non joseki moves to explore, or to set up a whole board position and see how different variations look.
