I have not yet fully started working with it but with the few I have done, it's worth rating 5 stars but until I become a full student and start using it regularly.
Fast and helpful; this app provides great functionality like clocking in for work, checking grades or class schedules, adding a class, or seeing what is available in the nearby vending machines. Also includes helpful features like finding printers and directions to your next class.
I love the functionality of the app and the convenience of having everything BYU available on my phone. I particularly appreciated the recent consolidation of the features related to classes, I always felt it was clunky to have those separated as they were. There is still some development and improvement to be done on this app, it occasionally has bugs or doesn't work for no apparent reason, but I've been pleased overall with the quality and convenience.
Excellent. The design is fluid and the app experience is great. I want to thank the student who built in the quick actions on a long press of the app, it is a great touch. I wish learningsuites ui were most robust, but viewing in a mobile browser desktop view is an acceptable workaround. Also make it so when classes are added to the calendar, they are in mountain time by default.
I use the clock feature, and the interface and feedback are much better and more intuitive (no need to wait for an update for three minutes or whatever, compared to the web app). I only wish the review screen more obviously displayed multiple timesheets, and that I had more control over missed clock-ins/clock-outs.
Doesn't work. The IT office is a joke. They might get back to you, but they'll just keep asking for more information WITHOUT ACTUALLY FIXING THE APP--I've tried before, and it's an endless rabbit hole. Save space and don't install this app.
Oftentimes searching for something will take forever but it has gotten better and having everything in one place is very useful.
This app is really user-friendly and has improved by MILES in the past year or two. I am impressed with the app's commitment to improvement. The Y-time feature is really great--I haven't had an exception since the new interface, which is saying something!
A great idea, but there's room for improvement! As of now, the app functions as a "link-hub" for most things. I'd love to see things like the Y-Message board integrated right into the app, instead of directing me online. But overall, a great idea for student quality of life!
Super easy and helpful! Pretty flexible, you can add things you use to a category so you don't have to search through all the uses every time you want to find a specific one. Simple, well-built, and not overly complicated.
Faculty perspective: I would love if developers created a way to send messages out to students through the app. Most importantly, I'd love to grade though the app. Grading on the LS website via phone is impossible. Would be so great if there was a simple to-do list grading option on the app, like there is on Canvas.
The vending machines don't update when the items are sold. It showed that various machines had a certain food, but when I went to the machines the food I wanted was empty even though the app said their was still 5 remaining items. I went to many different building and had the same result. Please sync the vending machines with the app so accurate information is displayed.
I have to close out of the Y- Time page or it will time out. It doesn't affect my time card, it just makes clicking it take a few excursions seconds every time. (I also have two jobs with the same title... still working out which is which...)
This app has only gotten better and better since it first came out. New features are regularly added to improve the students experience. It's super convenient to have so many things relevant to being a student in one place!
I like the app and it works well most of the time. However the "My Classes" tab is currently not working. It pulls up a screen that says "The server encountered an error, please try again." I would love to see it functional again.
Ready easy to get things done, but navigation could be improved.
Nicer than learning suite, but less versatile. The features are useful and can be customized easily according to the preference of the user.
Pretty good, but could use more functionality, especially for Ymessage! Since Ymessage forgoes traditional email at BYU, it really needs to be better to access, since it still actually requires another email to notify you of new message, which just defeats the whole purpose of a separate messaging service. BYU either needs to send tradi9nal emails, and abolish Ymessage entirely, or fully build it into the BYU app, complete with notifications.
Being a Byu student is a lot easier with this handy app. I use several functions within it multiple times a week. I highly recommend it to any student or staff at BYU Provo. It glitches a bit but updates and improvements are pretty steady.
The app has very limited functionality compared to using a browser and the websites. Almost not worth it because of the limited options. It has definitely improved over time, but still not that great.
Solid. Really helpful. Only issue is that it crashes semi-frequently, which prevents me from clocking in and out of work. Once it stops doing that, it'll be 5 stars
This is the worst app experience I have ever had. Almost every time I hop on it has issues with my login info. Most part of the app are just links to a browser that don't even work. This app has taken money from me without giving me my product (i.e. Cougareat). DONT USE UNLESS FORCED TO
It's a solid app that generally performs well and provides many helpful tools for students. It could be organized better and sometimes it crashes.
