Closed captions have no options and are too small to be useful. Information pages never seem to load. Interesting that the noreply email I received from Google said I could continue this discussion by replying to the noreply email. Hmm - someone doesn't know what they're saying. EDIT: if there is a way to change CC options on my phone I need some help finding them. The on/off option in ByuTV needs to point this out with a brief message like "Use your phone setting to change CC formatting options." I have changed my rating to 4 stars.

I absolutely live this app! I love the content! My only thing I want to bring up is that when I'm watching, the image gets all distorted and will continue to do so. The watching quality is horrible. I didn't have this problem in the past so I'm wandering if it's a problem other people have too or is it just me. Is there away to fix it on my end or is it a bug with the app? Again, great app and I usually don't have this problem, but I wanted to mention it if it need to be fixed.

Fantastic family shows. I just wish they had a 'continue' watching tab so we can continue watching a series where we were. Instead, we have to search through ALL of the programs to find the series. THEN search through the season for where we were watching. Quite frustrating!!

This app has so many great tv series that my family and I love to watch together, and best of all it is free with no ads/commercial free! Shows like the Wizard of Paws, Making Good, The Fixers, Random Acts, Studio C, Ruby and the Well, as well as awesome Christmas concerts come the holidays!

I absolutely love all of the shows on there, but sometimes, the main page is kind of wierd. For example, one of my favorite shows, Backyard Builds, says that there are 2 seasons and 22 episodes. I only see 8 episodes of one season. That happens with other shows too sometimes. But other than that, this app is AMAZING! I would totally recommend this app to anyone who wants free tv without adds.

I enjoy the shows and the sports, but this latest version of the app is a step backwards. We used to love the simplicity of just touching the app button and watching live or selecting a show. Now I have to create an account, give out my email, and remember yet another password. If people want to personalize the app and download/record, then great. But for those of us that don't, please just let us watch like we used to without all the extra hassle.

A great app with amazing variety and options. This is one of the best English speaking TV apps out there, completely free. The live tv doesnt always correspond with the advertised schedule. I clicked into what should have been 'Heartland" live and got a cookery show. It might not be designed for diff. Time zones outside US or perhaps a glitch. Im still giving a four though, for the amazing variety it has.

It's a pretty simple app, a good one too. But when I installed it and went to see the TV show episode i wanted to watch and when i play an episode it just shows a loading screen and it takes a really long time, I've waited for minutes and it was still "loading". I'm uninstalling the app as it's useless without being able to watch anything. So please fix this problem. After all you don't want a negative review under your app right?

If you like clean and free wholesome family programs, this is a great app. I have watched four episodes of a series so far, and no ads. I do not know if this is true with all the programs that stream from this app. You do need to set up an account, but it is free, and you are not asked for any payment details. You can set up the account from the website then log into the app. This will unlock all the programs plus the LiveTV features. (LiveTV does contain commercial breaks)

So I've had this for a pretty long while now, and recently it's been struggling. Whenever I try to watch something it will start flipping out and giving me a bunch of "java.lang.IllegalStateException"s, black out the screen, load for a while, flicker, you name it. I'm not sure what to do, so I figured the best way to contact you was through a review. Fingers crossed you'll see this at some point because I like watching your shows and I would like to continue doing so.

constant chromecast disconnect. I have ten or so apps which can do chromecast to my tv. Only one continually has this same problem. Abt two minutes of working followed by a spinning circle. This is not temporary pause. It never stops. Occasionally I can jump back in the program by several minutes and get the app to play for a few minutes but usually nothing wakes it up. I have to disconnect from chromecast and start over. Then I can blissfully watch a few minutes more before the spinner returns

Good app, great wholesome shows, but there are two downsides: the cumbersome, counterintuitive steps required to enable captions or subtitles, and the inability to download shows to my phone's external SD storage card. Please improve or add these crucial functionalities that nearly all other video streaming apps are able to offer seamlessly. Thanks!

Hi there. I used to watch BYU TV and was delighted with the content. I have just gone into it now and everything says 'content not available in your area. What has changed. I'm living in Ireland and should we not have access to BY u TV ad well. What happened. Am v disappointed 😞

The app itself is great. I have been using it for several years now. But it's been about 2-4 weeks that the app no longers show the cast icon (or it remains grayed out). So we can no longer cast byutv videos to our tv. Running latest buytv app version to date, Android 9 Pixel phone and Chromecast ultra device on TV. Please fix. Update: rebooted the Chromecast device and the cast icon came back within the byutv app. Will keep an eye on it.

I guess it's OK, though I kind-of expected a religious related institution to discourage addiction (binging), instead of somewhat promoting it. We are fans of a few shows, though Studio-C's humor still elludes our understanding.

Love how family oriented shows are, and being able to download for later offline watching as well as being able to save my favorites to watch later where I left off at

Streaming is fundamentally broken, with video and audio getting out of sync by 5+ seconds with frustrating regularity (like every minute or two). It is also not uncommon for the video to freeze permanently while the audio carries on. Exceptionally frustrating, since these problems did not happen in years past, and now plague every platform I've used (Android, Xbox One, ChromeOS).

I am trying to watch Th Chosen & it suddenly stopped casting & the Icon is missing!!! I have reset my phone & internet & it didn't fix it. Even Uninstalled & reinstalled. Still no help!!!

would have chosen lower but unable to to register all of the deficiencies. Reset PW takes you on a continous loop back to login page, that is if you can find the forgot PW switch, colors and contrast make script virtually illegible. Pushing selections on left hand side of the page, proves that there are stale URL's and links. Come on BYU you have a large computer lab and program, use them to assist you.

No fast forward or rewind. Everytime I try one or the other it takes me back to the beginning of the program I'm trying to watch. It would also be an improvement if they showed game clips on the BYU Sports Nation programs. Also, they could do a MUCH (!) better job of implementing Google Chromecast features.

This app is the best and whatever anyone else says is a lie. Even if you are not logged in there are no adds and all of the shows and movies are available to watch. And most people will think oh if I get an account I'm going to have to pay, but no its 100% free and there are no adds ever! And they're shows are funny and always clean.

Keeps buffering and then when it plays the picture won't stop randomly pausing and the the sound is off from the picture. Nothing fixes this and it's driving me so nuts that I can't even make it through any more episode and I'm gonna have to uninstall the app. At this point its pretty much usless and just takes up space

Your app is horrible. Having to sign in to it makes me NOT want to watch it because it is a problem everytime. On my roku and my phone. It asks for my password, I give it, then says it cant authenticate. I have always enjoyed watching the BYUTV but now it just frustrates me. I have to reset .y password, it emails me a link and takes me back to sign in but no place to put in a new password, just the old one. this has been the MOST frustrating app I have EVER used.

Great original shows that are uplifting and really well done like Ruby and the well ,I hope they continue this show.

I love the channel. There have been great improvement s since the beginning. I wish the signal was stronger since the feed goes out during shows. I particularly would like to watch Conference without losing reception!!! Thank you for your efforts and hope to better reception here in the East. Specifically Ohio. 45 minutes from Kirtland. This app was working ok when I had just finished watching the first set of the BYU women's Volleyball match against Peperdine. Suddenly my dogs jumped on my phone all it does is say this app is having trouble getting data. I have stopped the app and restarted it; I have rebooted my phone; I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still does the same thing.
