Byzans - Reading, together

The app is incredible. The interface is a hundred times better than Goodreads. It's very smooth and easy to access things. The groups are very good. I like that there are clubs for each book. However, I'd like to suggest adding three features: one is the reading challenge bar, another is the book recommendation list, and lastly the option to chat with your friends/followers one-to-one.

Surprised that after YEARS you didn't implement even ONE suggestion, not even dark theme!! Uninstalled. ====== I like the idea and the chat option. It also felt like a ghost town, can't click on books and discuss unless I'm currently reading or want to read. Could I choose undecided? There should be a way to filter genres. On the front page three are people who are reading horror and erotica. The two worst genres and I never want to see them. Also it would be nice if there was reading tracking.

Love it with two caveats. 1) Why isn't there an option to make a private buddy read? I think it's great that people want to chat in a public chat, but most times I want to use this for buddy reads with my friends and often random people will jump in because that is how it is set up. Do you have any plans for private groups Byzans? 2) Please fix notifications as they are very inconsistent in actually being sent to me for the groups I'm in.

This app has great potential. I really love the social media aspect of the app. The design is also really clean and easy to use. I really hope more people start using this app cos it is great! A couple of things I'd like to see is a dark mode and maybe a rating system. Doesn't need to be a fully fledged review-writing thing, just a star rating. Also being able to organise the 'my books/clubs' menu a bit better cos once you've added a few books, the list is quite bulky.

Update 11/05/2020- App is now much more responsive which is nice so +1 star. I understand being able to choose the cover, but I think that belongs in a different interface. For example if I want to add a lot of books by an author and search that author, I frequently end up double adding a book. Additionally it's frustrating to add all of the books in a series since you keep having to scroll past duplicates that you are unsure of wether or not you have added.

This is a really great app! It has so much potential. Just a couple of things, so I have to disagree with the previous review on here saying horror and erotica are the 2 worst genres. In my opinion erotica and contemporary are the worst and fantasy is the best! It's all I read! But to each their own and I definitely agree there should be a way to filter by genre. Also I feel like the edition of a 1 on 1 chat function would be nice too 💖👍all in all great job!

4 stars for now as I have just installed and it's a great app all in all. Very easy to use, the layout is easy on the eyes. I just wish there was a way in the My Books tab to group / filter the books as Read, Currently Reading, and Want to Read just like in Goodreads. So that it's easier to track the number of books per category. I do not know any other apps like this one, so I think this is brilliant.

EDIT: After contacting support, who were very responsive and helpful, my issue seems to have been fixed. Really like how easy it is to use this app, and how quickly you can get talking to people about the books you're enjoying (or not!). ORIGINAL: Love the app, but my library tab appears to not be working properly. Despite me adding books to 'read' and 'currently reading', my library page displays as empty. I have emailed support and will update my review here when issue is fixed.

Lovely, simple to use app with ongoing developing features. Really like the chat room option and different sections for books to read, read and reading. Also great interactive help when asked questions about the app. I use a lot of apps and this is one of my favourites would definitely recommend as the layout is good and very easy to use as opposed to some others.

Brilliant app, love how i can see what i have read and what id like to read. Rated 4 because; Id just like the option when selecting "currently reading" to put a date and and when i finish a book i can see how many days it taken me. And id like black mode option please.

Id love if we could share pics. We dont know what room to chat in, first book or last book when talking about a series. Can they have their own channel? Multiple copies of one book is kind of confusing but good they all go to the same channel. I think Moderators would be a good idea too. They could run a series channel, clean up extra book copies, and make sure pics are appropriate. The feed shouldnt refresh when I click an item and add it. You have to scroll all the way back to where you were.❤

I actually really like this app, because its exactly the kind of thing I'd been looking for ♥️ however it would be even better if the app was made more easily navigable.. i honestly can't differentiate between salon and cafe 😅 also all the books should be put in different places according to status, but they all appear in the same place 😕 seriously though, i love this app ✨

Cannot sign up neither using Facebook or email. Pressing sign up button after filling up my info doesn't do anything.

Another clunky reading guide app with lousy options and molasses like performance. There's no quick way to select the books you've read, every click takes seconds (sometimes 30 or so) to register,... It's agonizing to use. .. I'm sure if you're willing to spend four weeks in-putting your library This is great, but that's a no-go for me.

It's exactly what i was looking for! i've been tormenting my coworkers by talking non-stop about the books i wss reading, and this app provides the perfect outlet for me! And i can scan currently owned books (making it a million times easier than searching each book in my very large collection individually)

I liked the app so much i just had problem with the salon , if u are trying to chat there it is an absolute hell , the texting page only updates when u type something new so u will feel like u cant keep track of the conversation. Otherwise the app is cool thanks for your efforts and i hope u can fix this

Love the app and the community! ❤️ As a reader, finding people to talk about the books you're reading is always difficult and this app solves that. I've had a wonderful time here. The team is quite responsive with any issue and I can't wait to see how the app evolves over time.

I love it, the only feature I'm missing is the ability to talk to friends in the same club as you. Personally just feels a bit offputting to be in a group of 40+ members, reading together with 1 person, and knowing that anyone can read what you're saying. (One suggestion to this could maybe be the option to create sub-clubs (i.e. press on a user or two in a club and press "Invite to Group"), and not immediately implement a way for trolls/bots/etc to PM anyone without them accepting an invite)

Amazing but it would be even better if we could multi select the books. I have read 35 books by some authors and selecting each one alone one by one is tedious! But otherwise amazing!

I love using this so far but please add a "post" feature where you can just talk with your followers on the timeline other than being in individual book clubs. "Post" feature that allows photos and hashtags can be great for the app :)

Has potential but app has just not enough activ members, Im literally like all alone talking to myself which is a bummer. Someone like me who has to limit spacewasting apps on phone I regret to say I will delete this one eventually. Developers need to overcome this by offering some other things to enjoy with the app as well. Seriously I feel like goodreads should buy you. You would be an awesome addition - cherry on top

I really would like to check your app out. It seems like a really cool one. The only problem is that I can't even use it. I downloaded the app and opened it, but the screen just turns out black. Please fix this so that I can actually get to use ur app. Thanks

Cool bookish app! Add your books, chat about them with other like-minded people and generally, have fun talking about the books you love (or didn't enjoy). It has dedicated rooms for currently reading/read books so spoilers are avoided! Do try it out!

I love discussing the books that I am reading with other people, so this app is perfect for me! I'm honestly super excited to spend more time reading and discussing books. :)

Super easy to use and such a fantastic way to get to know fellow readers! I hope this app only grows so I'm able to talk about my favorite books with others who love them!

Really good app. All the readers out there who can't discuss about books just download this app it is worth it. Just sometimes there is no member in less hyped book clubs otherwise it's all good.

Love the app, I have been looking for this kind of app for a very long time and I have finally found it where you can discuss the books based on the status whether you want to read or reading or you have read the book. Thanks for this great app.😊😊

I really love this so app. i get to hear read so many peoples thoughts on the same books I'm reading at the same time. We need more members to share our favorite lines etc.

Much better than Goodreads. Hopefully it gets more popular so I can have conversations about more books, but that's not at all the app's fault. It's great.

Useful if u like to interact with ppl who Read the same as u... To. Exchange ideas, points of view... And just talk. Thanks for the developer
