As others have stated this app cuts out (at random intervals) when your device isn't unlocked. Sometimes when I unlocked my phone the app it had just 'dropped' the station and I would have to click it again. Other times as soon as I unlock the phone surprise! Stream works again. Either way this is app unusable as a portable pocket radio.
I like the content, however the app continues to linger in the background with the music player paused on a channel, even after days of not using it it, and stopping the player, closing the app it is still there ready to play, the only way to ensure the app is truly stopped is to force stop the app, if that is the only way to stop it I will most likely Uninstall it.
As others have noted, unlike other podcast and radio apps, this app does not run for more than about 3 minutes if the phone is not actively in use. I had hoped this problem would have been fixed at some point in the last year, but it has not.
Don't understand the average ratings. It's an outstanding app. Fast, responsive, works with screen off, and packed full of content. Works beautifully.
Audio stops after a while, and there's no rewind/pause (so, it's radio w/ 4 channels as advertised). I wish there was a scroll somewhere that updated with the speaker's name kinda like a song title
App doesn't send notifications, nor does it stream audio without it stopping for no reason. Im using a google pixel and I have no other apps open. The app still cuts out, C-SPAN is great but unfortunately this app does not do a good job of showing that.
The calendar is great and the different channels are easy to switch between, but the stream intermittently pauses or stops completely, which is a critical issue for a streaming app.
I'm sure it's fine for some people, but would be 10 000 times better if they had live streaming and access to the video library in the app, like on the website. Radio is insufficient to be completely honest for how important c-span is.
Dosconnects every few minutes. 3/7/21. Still disconnects every few minutes. I have many apps that are stable. Why can't CSPAN do that? 6/21/21: App update still disconnects every few minutes.

Excellent source of events & ideas. App easy to use, diverse topics. Nice addition for news junkies & casual listeners. I'm putting it on all my portable electronics.
the app doesn't close even after you stopped it. you have to force stop the app from running. this app wants to stay open collecting information. the app stays running in the background.
Love it. So many great programs, live coverage without annoying partisan commentary. Wash Journal hosts are the most fair-minded, patient, interesting news people, on TV. A great number of callers from every part of the political & economic spectrum don''t speak English properly, have very poor vocabulary, don't understand basic concepts. I'm referring to Americans born and educated in the US. Sad comment on the our education system
The app worked for a while now nothing. No connection, no programming. I uninstalled and reinstalled with no effect. So I have to rate this app poorly.
Used to be my favorite C-SPAN interface but with the screen off, it seems like audio stops every 5 minutes or less, whether on wifi or mobile data.
If you're a C-Span junkie you need to have this on your phone. Occasionally they'll give a notification of an important hearing or press conference/event is about to begin. Super helpful. It's a good, non-toxic way to stay informed and I love it.
CSPAN provides ALL political opinions, and broadcasts them straight from the horses mouth. you may not always agree with what you hear, but that's how you are supposed to hear the news... unfiltered, no spin. Perfect, thank you!
why do i have to keep force stopping this app to shut it down? when i close the app the app keeps running playing sound. the icon in the notification area doesn't close. i have to some times go into the settings to apps then force stop the app to close it. other then that it's a good app. just annoying some times when I'm done using the app i close it but it doesn't close. then i have to go into settings to stop it.
if you're interested in listening to 10 seconds at a time and constantly having to relaunch to get even that much, then go ahead. if you actually want to be able to get any content, this is not the place
How do you get rid of the pop up box that shows up on the pull down menu all the time now? I only want this app working when I actually click on it to use. Which is mostly just during the morning call in show.
It needs the ability to playback prior airings. Rewind and fast forward. Like other Radio apps.
Decent app. No way to actually close it - once stopped it runs in the background with a notification forever.
It is amazing, checked out with what is showing on TV!! Cspan 1 and Cspan 2 are in sync!! I don't have Cspan or Cspan 3 on TV so that is why I downloaded this app, thank you Soo much for this app, God bless you, keep up the great work 🙂😎
notifications are non functional. contacted support three times with specifics, they are apathetic and could care less. Deleted as useless. Don't comment to contact you with additional information, too late to pretend that you're conscientious.
