C64 - A Legend
It's a part of my plan for my upcoming new C64 Multiplayer Universe 2020! An idea I've been working on for a year and a half (2018). I know a lot of people don't like the idea, but I think the idea is fantastic. If you want to be a part of this future, you can support the project by purchasing the app.
How to Start: Place the C64 System Files (ROMs: Kernel, Basic, Char, 1541II) and also the games you want to play (.prg .p00 .t64 .d64 .g64 .tap .crt .sid), somewhere on your Android Device (a good place is the "Download" Folder in the internal memory). That's it. Tested with Android 5,6,7,8,9 and 10.

Standart Features:
• Touch Keyboard (vertically movable)
• Movable/Zoom On-Screen Stick + Button (use 2 Fingers)
• Fullscreen Mode (wide 16:9 is not possible, it would look bad... ugly stretched)
• Automatic stored Savegame for each game (after leaving a game)
• Manually 4 Gamestates for each game (via menu L State/S State)
• ReSID x 3 (Address: d400, d420, d440 | Sampling: Fast, because for interpolating/resampling are the most android devices not fast enough)
• 4 free fillable and switchable ROM Banks (like: JiffyDos, SpeedDos, DolphinDos, Exos)
• Up to 4 external Gamepads (USB or Bluetooth) and an external Keyboard (USB or Bluetooth)
Purchasable Features (Items):*
• Visual Memory & Code Analyzer
• Gamepad Button Remapper (if the standart mapping is not working)
• Screen Adjustments (Brightness, Saturation, Scanlines, Tube Bend, Vignette, X/Y Zoom, RGB)
* None of the purchasable items are needed to enjoy the full fun of this C64 emulator. Also the "Screen Adjustment" is not necessary normally, because the screen is adjusted perfectly. This feature is only for users who want to play around with it.
Known Bugs:
* Random NDK crash reported by one user, it's rare, but this have to be fixed *
* Not all .sid files are working (at this time only v2 and addr: $1000-$9000)
* For smooth scrolling with 60Hz Displays you have to switch to NTSC Mode (but PAL Mode is also nearly smooth)

Perfect emulation, however it would be better if it would stretch full screen. Update The emulator has a full screen option but because I have the Samsung S10 it doesn't cover the whole screen, the developer responded and explained the reason why so I've changed my review to reflect this.
frequent crashes on Fire hd 10 in load menu when attempting to change directories in the file system. When it does load, Wonderful design and emulation, clever use of c64 disk program list for auto loading without having to type load"$",8 like in other emulators or real c64, opening up further usage to those unfamiliarwith c64.
After paying for full version: Simply the best! This is the only C64 emulator for Android which has minimal input lag and actually gives you possibility to play games!!! It also supports external joystick controllers :)
Just don't work! It can't find the 8k kernel, despite tge fact that it was copied to the download folder, just as it said in the instructions.. I have tried multiple times, also restarting my phone. OS: Android 10.
Worth buying the full version for a better experience. Works with my ps4 controller which is a huge bonus.. I highly recommend this app and I thank the team for their support and help getting it all up and running for me.
Final edit: Dev was super nice and super responsive and fixed the issue fast. App runs smooth and I absolutely love the old school commodore look to the virtual keyboard.
Looks good but I found it anoying to dig out the system roms. Other than that works great.
Plays .t64 files which others don't. Pretty awesome app!
excellent emulator but the set up took a while
Nothing works. You need to place this here and that there... This is a half-baked experimental thing, sorry.
It's the VICE Emu. The "dev" didn't even bother to credit the original coders. What a shame.
This is technically the best C64 emulator on the Android and I would rate it 5 stars. But there are few things that took away one star * Emulator doesn't come with the C64 kernel, ROM, characters, etc. User must find those on it's own in order to run the emulator. * Even when you buy the application, you must separately pay for options to adjust display, modify keyboard layout. Aside to that, once when you manage to run it, it is the best C64 emulator on the Android.
