Have a new GE cafe fridge.. Had a hard time getting email confirmation for a new account (never happened -yes I checked my junk mail folder!). Used an old account for a cafe stove. We needed an account apparently because the lock button would not unlock (required power cycle) and required a firmware update. Be nice to be able to see the firmware of the device. Android Pixel 5. The app crashes. Gets into a state where it pushes itself into the background. You can flip up to recent apps and it's there trying to communicate with the device. eventually it will connect. I'd like to see the current temperature in addition to the set temp. True of the front panel also. The waves and music are nice for the first couple seconds but I'd like to see stuff about the fridge. I never understood why the front panel has to dim out. You're plugged in. It's an LED panel. Show the stuff. The working app is ads and other garbage (recipes and extras). Haven't tried to schedule hot water. Not sure that option is implemented the smoothest.
Not sure about all the bad reviews. I bought a Café smart range specifically to be able to start oven remotely. This app does exactly that. Also effectively monitors induction cooktop output. Maybe best feature is the temperature probe which can be monitored through the app from anywhere you have cell service. This alone makes the app 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟. Set the probe temp for brisket and it'll shut off when done. Just a very convenient app used nearly every day.
First use it worked perfectly. Second attempt to connect an appliance it wouldnt highlight Next to allow me to proceed beyond connecting to the appliance wifi. Reinstalled app in hopes of it allowing me to connect. Once reinstalled every time I attempted to login it would state 'Oops, bad input please try again'. After several attempts at this with restarts on phone and app, it is now stuck to where i cannot get beyond the opening splash screen. Until fixed, connected appliances are worthless
App works smoothly and has all the features that you would expect from it. The only minor issue that I noticed is that the on/off toggle for the ice maker doesn't work properly. If you turn it off through the app it doesn't turn the ice maker back on when you press the button again (no matter how many times I tried).
Nice to be able to preheat the oven or change the temperature mid-baking. It shows what burners are on for the cooktop, but you can't change them and it's lacking a simple features for the control lock/unlock and the light. That would be nice, otherwise I'll probably rarely use it.
Just got new 4 door refrigerator delivered and connected the application. While I can adjust the refrigerator and freezer temperatures from the app, I cannot for the convertible drawer. Also would be nice to see actual temperatures from each and know what are the alarm/notification temperatures for each section. This is extremely important due to storing medications in the refrigerator.
Extremely Glitchy! I am not sure if GE plans to support this app any more but in its current state it is essentially useless. The first time I downloaded the app it seemed to work, but I had to download it a second time and since then the app will not communicate with my appliance with any success. No sooner than it does connect successfully it will again loose the connection. If you're reading this GE please update the app oh and while your at it the Precision Cooking Probe doesn't work either.
Garbage app. I am stuck at the screen where it asks me to connect to the Range wifi and I can't click connect. Tried everything, and practically deleted all other wifi connections, but it still doesn't allow me to click on next. The instructions are garbage and there is no troubleshooting help available.
The wall oven I have is soooooo excellent, and the app works a little, but its monitoring and control features dont update and lack much of what the actual oven can do. I really hope GE does not abandon the app and continually updates it because it could be so good. I'm giving three stars and not less because I am very hopeful its base features will be improved soon. PLEASE DONT ABANDON THE APP, IT COULD BE AWESOME!
Not intuitive and lots of hang ups. Had to erase WiFi info and set up several times. I decided that this app when working wasn't very useful. In the trash bin it went. Come on GE. My wemo has a better and more reliable app.
Haven't used it yet, but presume it works as described. It is completely inappropriate for me to have to supply potentially identifying information to access a feature of a cooktop that I have paid good money for. Shame on you. Most likely this violates privacy laws, and if it doesn't, the laws need to be updated.
Can't sign in, says "bad request" (what is that). Had it working on my old phone, had trouble on set up, then didn't start the oven remotely the one time I wanted to pre heat! Wanted to give it another chance. Stupid Idea anyway - I'm in the kitchen when my oven is on!
I like that when I make my coffee in the morning using my refrigerator brewer, it sends a message to my phone when the water is done heating. I like the warnings that go to my phone if I leave the refrigerator door ajar. I like being able to use it to order parts and/or service.
It wont allow the password to be entered. Tried multiple times. GE spend the money to make this an acceptable APP. I certainly hope my refrigerator operates better than this app does.
The initial set up could have been much better explained but wasn't actually difficult. Over, seems to be working well.

Just received notification that I need to update my GE Cafe app, but no indication on how I do that!
It's just an app that doesn't do much but it does tell me when the door is open and I see that is a good value
The app tried to get access to my location which is not needed for operating the appliance but to track me.
It takes forever to connect. Right now it won't connect at all.

Updated: install was originally a mess but an update fixed that. Now, another update has caused nonstop notifications every time the microwave is used. I mean, use the microwave just once and it causes an android notification to keep popping up again and again. Also, you cannot turn this feature off. I am now permanently blocking all notifications from this app. Will look again in 6 months.
