This is a very unique and neat idea. I honestly like it. The swipe to search and AdBlock is good. I do have a small caveat. For some reason, browsing with this causes random warnings of pop up downloads that end with .bin to come up for no reason when other browsers won't have anything of the sort. It's worrying and probably one of the few things keeping this from being a 5 star for me. Why does this happen?
Not being able to edit a homepage other than what is offered is ridiculous. It's just a cluttered mess of video pics. I want to just to chiose my homepage. No home button to go straight to Google or something like that. The desktop version of YouTube shown is not the desktop version, as it doesn't display the same icons such as the notification Bell. Never had this happen with brave or Samsung internet or even Chrome. Does have some nice features but the ruined by the layout of the home page.
This browser makes searching so much more enjoyable.. and it saves a remarkable amount of time and effort by having the searched pages loaded before swiping to them. I've asked them to incorporate a few tweaks to make it even more powerful for searchaholics like me.. I don't know if they were thinking about it or if they added it because I suggested it but now, the find in page function works amazingly well.. once you set text in the find in page and go next page it opens at that text!! Super
Browser is unique in sone parts but overall i get headache when using it. Clicking on an ad,popup asks me do i want to open it or block, opens it anyway. Searching something on a google, enteritis a site and then backing brings me to a random tab or to whole beginning of search engine. And many more little mistakes that just ruin your day because they are constant and annoying.
love this app and its super easy to use but i just really really hate how im listening to music and then go to look something up and the home page mutes all my sound, im just trying to look something up and my music stops and doesnt recontinue when i leave the homepage. very minor gripe but super inconvenient, honestly everything else is great but its because everything else is so great that this bothers me so much, like the browser was designed for mobile users.
Cake is becoming non-functional for me. I have roughly 10 sites on my favorites list that I like to scroll between. That appears to be way too much and the browser locks up. I need to reset it multiple times to get through all 10 sites. It's common for me to close and reopen 6 times during my morning coffee. I'm searching for a new browser now.
Cool UI and a semi-functional VPN. That's about it. Searching is annoying and the browser locks up all the time, even with only a tab or two open. Hard Pass.
When I open the app while YouTube Music is playing music, the music stops! please don't forget to update. The application is very good.
Everything is amazing about it! But it has problems, if I'm in the middle of a page and I leave the app and come back the page restarts and sends me back to the top of page. The pages also never finish loading. If this gets fixed I'll 100% give the app 5 starts but for now it's a 4 for me. I can't open my bookmarks or the settings. A lot of the problems could easily be fixed.
It has really nice pop-up block, that's why I use it primarily to read manga and watch anime. My only complaints are that when I open the app after closing it I automatically get taken to some sort of front page, and this happens in the same tab I have previously browsed on. This plus it doesn't remember where on a website I am gets frustrating. For example, I search for chapter 4 of a manga, read ahead very far, close the app and then come back and it takes me back to chapter 4.
The app has a great concept and I love the interface. I love the swiping from page to page, the customizability... I would rate it higher if it ran smoother. Compared to what came with my phone (Chrome), it's pretty slow. Total dealbreaker for me when the app stops responding to your scrolling gesture for a split second, every five seconds. Continuously. If they work out the response time and latency issues, I will be happy to come back and re-evaluate my rating.
This browser has almost no settings. It's super simple, but so limited. It lacks the ability to show you multiple results at the same time, so it's hard to grasp a bigger picture with whatever you may be searching for. Also, one of the settings I need is the ability to request a desktop version of a website. This app doesn't let you do that, yet. And I feel like with the direction/approach the browser has, it never will. Granted, many websites are set up for mobile now, but sometimes the desktop version is still preferred even if it has a mobile version.
Great. Different and fresh. Love the swiping and easy access to list if needed. Great to use. Great to try it. You've got nothing to lose. EDIT: I have deleted it off my phone. I liked it. It was very frustrating that every time I opened it, it would open to the same web page every time... EDIT AGAIN: Second chance...Customer service suggested closing tabs before exiting. Resolved the issue. Much better.
The concept isn't bad, but I think it can be improved. Sometimes the same page shows up in the search results and is thus also shown in the swipe view. Normally this is not a problem, but now this requires my device to load the same page twice in order to get to the next unique result. Also, some of the results I get from the search I don't care about; I typically only click on 2 or 3 in a traditional browser. If there was a way to select the ones that go into the swipe view, I feel that may be a better approach (though encroaching on a more traditional browsing method; an improved tabbing system essentially).
Amazing browser, simply no other words to describe it. I saw the ads a while back, they were a bit cringe but I tried it out. I was shocked, the adblocker didn't get detected when every other browsers did. I can customize nearly everything, it has a great UI. There was one issue with crashing, it was annoying but now that's fixed after a few days. The flexibility and how it just works. It actually made life easier for me. It's hard to use anything else once you this. I'm excited for more of it.
I find the app very cool and the principle is really good, it's easy, fast, safe but I'm having trouble with a number of elements: it would be really great if the navigation bar could be moved at the bottom of the page and there was a dark mode. Also I've been having problems with downloads recently and with loading some pages... I can download images yet documents don't seem to work, they always end up unsuccessful.
This is definitely a great browser. I'm going to keep this brief, but it has all the features you'd want. It has a vpn, you swipe to switch websites when searching for something; and most importantly, you can force dark mode on all pages. I also find the app icon customization cool. However, the vpn can sometimes limit/affect connection, though your millage may vary. And the most annoying thing about this app, it pauses music from Spotify each time you open it. This is incredibly frustrating.
It's a neat browser, I've been using it for about a week now. I like the swipe features for switching to different sites, the built in ad blocker is good feature, however I'm not a fan of how the Favorites open up. I would prefer to have a list to choose from, instead of opening the first site stored in the Favorites, then swiping down to open list, it feels unnecessary.
Great concept, but Cake is soooo slow. Also, while the UI is cute, it takes too much space. If there's one thing Chrome learned a long time ago is to surface web content and be minimal when it needs to appear. There are a few bugs related to the search bar, as many others have mentioned here. I enjoy the news feed and being able to swipe through articles. Unfortunately though, the issues described here are making me switch. Maybe in the future I'll come back to you, Cake.
Amazing overall, it's almost like a more mobile friendly version of chrome. The creators of this app should be proud of themselves. Great browser. Edit: the swiping and font issue dont seem to be a problem anymore, however a new problem arose for me. When looking for images, the images wouldn't show up, but when I tapped on the screen where they should be, it still shows me the picture. Still a great app though.
The concept is great. Although, there is one major problem I need to address. Whenever I am in a page, for eg. travel blog, and they have links internally, it doesnt do anything on 1 click. I need to press and select open in new tab to see the webpage. I am not sure its just me or this is a design fault. I thought it should be addressed correctly. Overall, great concept.
Good start. - Nice design & speed but there are still a few quirks. One of which is that whenever I watch videos in News sites and try to make it fullscreen, the video just closes. - I miss being able to see the full URL of the sites I visit for security reasons. - It'd also be nice if we can share links and files between devices (in Opera Touch, it's called Flow), but this one is no big deal as I can still use pushbullet. - As of today, there are no desktop and native iPad apps available.
This web browser is phone browsing done right. When I type something in, I can just swipe through pages and get the results I want. It also helps me read news more often with its system tailored to me all on a sleek design. I do have a few nitpicking. Downloads becomes a specific web doc that won't work outside of the browser, so it becomes difficult to share photos or docs. If this issue were to be corrected, I would never use another browser.
Very good app. Browsing is super fast and I appreciate the bottom toolbar and adblocker. Still, the swiping to see results seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. It's a cool idea, sure, but not one that anyone really needs to use. Also, I'd really reccommend adding in a dark mode and redesigning the tab page to make it easier to swipe away tabs with one hand. I'll keep an eye on this app, but I think I'll stick with Samsung Internet.
Writing after a few months as my main browser. It does a lot of things really well, the whole thing about getting results as soon as you search is great, I hope it inspires other browsers to do something similar. I think it's a really good browser for simple use, because it's so streamlined. I am deciding to move back to Firefox, though. I was annoyed that I couldn't import bookmarks, and if there was a desktop version that synced bookmarks I would be more inclined to use it.
EDIT: Updates have come, and it has indeed improved! No more crashes, and now has dark mode and index view! Nice turnaround! | An interesting and novel idea. Unfortunately I experienced several crashes in the first few minutes of use. At this stage, it needs some more functionality. Lack of Startpage Search engine did it for me. I will keep watching to see if there are more additions. Maybe will give it another go in a few months. I definitely identify with the problem they are trying to solve.
Let me start this reviee off saying this is an awesome web browser. I love it but it has its quirks. When selecting a link to be opened with the browser, it opens the browser, but not the link. I have to go back snd click the link again. Very annoying I like the feature of being able to go directly to websites and swipe between them. I think there should be an option for me to use the regular browser view first, and still be able to swipe between sites.
The browser is surely more convenient when you want to do a quick search. I only give it 4 stars because I have two minor issues. Firstly, it's a fast browser, but not nearly as fast as advertised which isn't a huge deal but is still a little disappointing. The main issue I have though is this, swiping down a web page will frequently cause the browser to swipe right to the next page rather than go down the page like I intended. All in all, it's a fresh original take on browsers and worth a try.
Comes with a lot of perks, ease of use, and what basic needs you need from a browser. But, it gets annoying that the settings are so limited when there are issues like being sent to the home screen upon launching the app (and closing the tab you were on/going back a few pages from where you left it), no real room to customize much inside the browser (like the layout of the buttons, sliding options, etc.), and it just gets to you to a point of rarely using the browser.
