I play this every day. I think it helps me keep focus and memory. And, at my age those are good to keep sharp.
Would be 4 or 5 stars with an undo button. While using the calculator, it's easy to accidentally fill in an actual cell and you won't know which you did. Great game on paper! But this GUI has too many picayune quirks and tics. You can lose by forced gui mistakes easier than by flawed logic. Once they fix the kinks, I would pay for a premium version.
Nice game, quite addictive. I would suggest 3 things to make it perfect: 1. A visible timer so you can see if you are close to you best time; 2. A pause button so interruptions don't have to ruin a good time; an 3. maybe rank games easy, medium hard. Some grids are too easy while others can take a very long time.
Great game, terrible interface. Easier acces to undo, reset, hint and delete a must. Also, can't select multiple cases when in "notes" mode which slows down the game. At times, the "notes" will not update when an number is inputted somewhere else on the line/column. Finally, visual queue to indicate in "notes" mode is barely visible (pen on an angle instead of flat). Something more obvious would be appreciated. Otherwise, great potential!
The puzzles offer a fun logic challenge. My one complaint is that if you pencil in a possible # in a cell, then ink that same number as a final value into a cell in the same row or column, the penciled-in value is automatically erased. It'd be nice to be able to turn that feature off, as if you inadvertently add a value to a cell and then erase it, you may not notice that the notes have been modified in the meantime.
Good idea, but user experience would be much improved if the delete button was replaced by a multi-level UNDO button. Lack of this feature, that many other puzzle games have, makes me not want to continue with ghus version. UPDATE: After finding the UNDO option, I have increased my rating, although I still believe this should be on the main playing area instead of the menu.
Players can't choose a level of difficulty after selecting a size. At first, I took a long time to solve a puzzle (sticking to 6 x 6) but after mastering some techniques, I find it is quite easy and disappointed that puzzles do not get more and more challenging.
I enjoy the app. Since I have sound turned off, the ads don't bother me as some reviewers have complained. Main downside is that the app doesn't generate new games on the fly. For the 9x9 level, there are about 12 different saved layouts which are repeated over time.
Hate the way this app is set up... I've played another game like this called Kenken and the way they allow you to fill in possible answers was so easy. This one was so confusing switching from possible answers to actual answers and I couldn't put possible answers into multiple boxes at once. Got so frustrated that I just deleted it. To the developers please take the time out to make this simpler because doing a 9x9 grid set for difficult is difficult enough.
The User Interface could use work: At times, I hit the pen button without meaning to, and it would be nice if the negative space was managed better. At first, I thought you needed trial and error but got used to it: it can be solved logically like it said. Nice variation but unsure if I will keep it: Feels like it's missing something but unsure what. I think maybe a cleaner UI and instinctive elements like highlighting digits. Take Care With Love Through God and Jesus and The Holy Ghost,
This is a great game. I love the puzzles. They make me think, but don't feel impossible.
Addictive. Played it on work break for like 2 years now consistently.
Enjoyed for about 3 days, then uninstalled. The loud annoying repeat of ads for other products between games drove me nuts. The X in the corner to cancel the annoying ad takes 3-4 seconds to pop up, and requires several taps before it shuts down the annoying ads. Oh, and did I mention the extremely annoying ads for other game products between games ?
The puzzles were generally what I was looking for, but my old man eyes sometimes have trouble seeing the difference between the plus and divide symbol. I took off 2 stars because whenever it goes to an ad, not only does it interrupt my music app, it sets the phone's media volume to 0.
I wish less was done for the user, e.g. automatically removing entry possibilities when a final entry makes it impossible. Let the the player go through the process, even though it seems an obvious, "housekeeping" type process. I like, to say, "its never too late to f--k it up (in household projects as well as number games), so give the user every opportunity to do so. There could be a preferences section where the user made choices about how s/he wanted things like, this handled.
I love the user interface and functionality, however, it ignores one of the rules, a number cannot be repeated in the area neither. Eg, if the operation is 9+ in a 5x5, can be 2+3+4 or 4+4+1 (considering that the two 4s are not in the same row/column)... That is not the way I was thought and used to play it. Is there any way to make that rule optional?
Being a classic game that's entertained generations of maths aficionados you can download this expecting exactly what you'll be playing. This game is highly engaging and addicting. The ads are annoying as hell. I'd happily pay $2 for a version of this game that corrected its annoying issues and distended with ads.
GREAT game, could tweak the UI a bit (namely access the undo button without opening menu) but otherwise a very fun and engaging game. Not sure what other reviewers are talking about, the ads and very NON-intrusive unlike most other apps. Close to perfect!
Great little game. Good design and easy to learn yet hard to master. Though it could do with a few more customisable settings for the auto input. All in all great maths challenges though
The game is great the calculator covers the tiles and make it hard to see the number I may want to calculate. I should be able to move the calculator around the screen. Can I get rid of the ad
Brilliant. Only had it a few days but I'm already a total addict. A real challenge as the rules are different enough from other types of Sudoku to create traps for the unwary. Ads are not intrusive and there is none of the rewards and points and leader boards nonsense. Just lets you get on with the games. I'm now trying other Razzle products. Cryptograms is great, Zuzu looks promising and I'm sure there will be others worth pursuing. Thank you Razzle.
Nice clean look. I have enjoyed another version of the game that does the arithmetic for you, resulting in a puzzle that focuses on the exclusion logic, and I think I like that better.
This app has all the options I've been looking for in a kenken game. I can put possibilities in each square, get a hint if needed, and check to see if what I've done is ok. Of course, you don't have to use these options.
This is a very good app.. I would give it five stars if the following recommendations are implemented: (1)- more than one single pencil mark in a cell is confusing. This is not a Sudoku game.. all people I know use only one single pencil mark in any cell, and it is PLACED IN THE CENTRE OF THE CELL. Once the true value is known, it will replace the pencil Mark.. This way, the Grid is not cluttered with randomly distributed , (and persistent)), pencil marks.. Why don't you make the number of pencil marks user-selectable in the Game settings?.. (2) Please do not automatically erase pencil marks if they contradict with other values.. it is confusing (3) Let the user select the arithmetic operations involved . A nice set would be: (x) (+) (x....+) and (x..+...-.../)
Became too addicting. The only complain I have is that you can't notice if you have switched from rough work mode to solving mode unless you are extra careful. There should be some kind of sound or warning before entering the solving mode.
Pretty good. Puzzles and UI are good, ads usually don't bother much. I do wish I could just pay to remove ads, or even better, that this was on google play pass.
Fun game with great entry program. Warning: If you use calculator be sure to unselect the current cell before opening calculator otherwise it fills in cell with number punched into calculator but still give it 5 stars. Love the game and interface and minimal ads.
What a nice find! The game is simple to play, once you understand the basics, yet more and more challenging as the puzzle size gets bigger, it is great as a time filler, or to play for longer times, in addition, the adverts are not intrusive, something that other developers should heed - well done.
