The app is by far the best Nest widget I've used yet with a creative pop-up panel to adjust temp and whatnot. I can't adjust where each individual element goes, but the Dev said that's something he'll work on in the future. The Dev is fast to reply, which is always amazing to see. Development has been a little slow for a bit now is the only reason for 4 star.
I paid for this app. Didn't work with Oreo when I got my new Pixel 2 XL. I contacted the dev and he told me it should be compatible with Oreo by the end of the following week. Except that was 3 months ago and he no longer responds to emails. Now I have an app that I paid for and I can not use any more. What a waste. Very disappointing.
Checks all the boxes; at-a-glance nest dial with controls. Plenty of options to configure as you like. A little pricey but since Nest failed to give us any widgets then all credit due for filling the gap. Installed on my tablet (Samsung Tab 3) so no battery concerns as others mentioned but also not flagging the Samsung power alert so I'm not sure that's an issue or not. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Works ok, but the excessive battery draining is real showstopper. To bad, because normal battery usage would lift this app all the competition far behind
Stopped recognizing thermostat. Tried dropping and adding account, but no thermostat. Same after clearing data/cache.
Love all the features except when I add the widget shortcut and use it to toggle away/home, the away says 0 when it's actually 16.5. Also very hard on the battery.
Integration with Tasker does not work. Developer does not respond to questions about this.
Works well, but drains the battery. Interface could use some updating.
Dev is not fixing battery drain. Thermostat functionality works. Very unattractive interface. The popup design needs to be updated to material design. It looks very dated and stands out when compared with other apps. This app destroys my battery when it uses GPS for geofencing. A single app consuming nearly 500 mAh of battery in an 8 hour period is not acceptable.
I drive home and cross the geofence (set to max) in 3 mins, not enough time for Nest to heat up the house
It simply doesn't show up the images to select for setting background image.. Please fix this!
I mainly downloaded it hoping it would integrate well with Tasker. Seamless. I am very happy with this app. Keep up the great work.
I purchased this app for my Samsung Gear S2 Classic and it may be my ignorance but do all android wearables and Android apps work with each other? If they do, I can't get the calida app to open under the wearable tab b/c it's greyed out, the widget works great but I wanted this for my watch. ..can you help? Will update review upon clarification, thanks! Received an update about supporting the Gear S2, not supported, ; (
Overall the app is working great on my one phone.. but when you try to install it on a second phone with a family account, the thermostat doesnt show up.. not sure what i may be missing with that. Goal was to have two phones active and set away/home triggers for each and if one phone is home while the other leaves it remains in home mode.
When nest goes into auto away, would it be possible to make the widget disable auto away when we hit the up or down temperature buttons. Instead of having to manually turn off auto away and then hit up or down. Why not make a macro instead of just saying that we cant touch the temp while in auto away?
Wear app reports no connection. Have to open phone app, then wear app will work for a while. Galaxy s6 and moto 360 v2. Thankfully nest has finally added wear support so I can forge calinda
When I use "set variable", the tasker plugin doesn't seem to return any data from the thermostat. If I set a tasker variable with data from the calida plugin, the tasker variable gets set to something like "%awaystate" rather than the data from the thermostat. Hope that makes sense
I love this app but it's killing my battery. It seems to be gps related. Can we get an option to disable gps during certain days/hours?
Not compatible with my device (NVIDA Shield K1, Android 7.0)
Great for Android Wear, can we get support for Samsung Tizen smart watches? Thanks
Any word on Nougat compatibility?
I have two homes. Two widgets. Always got an hvac error when using second widget but can control it fine in nest. Developer contacts me directly and explains situation but also accommodates me in another way. Turns out nest is less forgiving in api than in their own app. Very happy to understand problem and how to use calida to deal with it. Keep up good work!
A few bug has been corrected by dev upon reporting almost immediately. Really responsive developer.
Really liking this widget. Makes all of the nest functions available from my home screen. Now I have all my wink shortcuts and nest widget on one page of my launcher. Thanks!
Had some issues but the developer fixed them immediately. Very responsive dev. So far the app seems to be exactly what my nests have been missing, proper geofencing controls. The fact that the dev cares and communicates on this app is icing on the cake.
I've been using this app for about a month and have found it simple and thorough for controlling my Nest. Thank you
UPDATE: Seems to be abandoned. This does not work on Oreo and certainly not on Pie. I have been unable to use this for quite a long time unfortunately, as I genuinely liked it. At this point it's no longer useful, don't buy unless the developer updates the app for compatibility. OLD REVIEW: This is a great Widget and app for Android Wear. On wear especially, it's more responsive and reliable than the other apps I tried. The only issue I have with it is that you can't pull the data into Tasker on the fly, you have to create a profile that has to be triggered for the variables to pass into Tasker. Smart Thermostat Plugin is much better for use with Tasker tasks, but doesn't include the widget or wear app. For the time being I guess I have to keep both.
