California WIC App
WIC provides families with:
- Information about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to support you and your family
- Support and information about breastfeeding your baby
- Help in finding health care and other valuable community services
- Healthy foods from WIC approved grocery stores such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, milk, eggs, bread, cereal, juice, peanut butter, soy milk, tofu and much more.
Participants must meet income guidelines and be:
- A pregnant woman
- A woman breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age
- A woman who had a baby in the past 6 months
- Have an infant(s) up to their first birthday
- Have a child(ren) up to their fifth birthday
In California, 83 WIC agencies provide services locally to about 1.16 million participants each month at over 600 sites throughout the state. In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, WIC is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
The California WIC App will give WIC participants the opportunity to view upcoming appointments, view food benefits that have been issued to them in the clinic, scan UPCs while shopping at the store to see if the UPC is a WIC Approved item or not, and provide information on locations of WIC Stores and WIC Clinics across the State of California. The goal of the California WIC App is to give participants all the information they need at their fingertips to make their shopping experience fun and easy.

I never had problems with WIC app until now and I am very sad to not be able to log in even though I am using correct username and password, it's the same I've used for years. Please help fix this problem. I already uninstall many times and install back but same problem. 😲🤔ðŸ˜
Everytime I check for the current food balance, it doesn't show any picture. It's hard for me to know what I have left and still need to get, but the future balance, it shows every single item. Please fix this issue.
The app is always crashing. Lately it won't even let me sign in without an error message popping up. And when you can sign in, the balance isn't always shown correctly. So at the register, you either pay out of pocket for the items you thought were covered, or you leave them. This is frustrating because I rely on the app to keep my balance up to date to shop accordingly.
I have downloaded and deleted the app already and still can't even register my account. It keeps saying "Invalid WIC information". I was super excited once I heard this was the direction for accessing WIC and I absolutely hate that it doesn't work the way it was intended. Maybe once I'm able to register my account I will have a better experience, BUT FOR NOW I FEEL IT'S TERRIBLE!!!
Some stores wic sellf logos are always misplaced! I like when you can pick the item marked with the wic logo but stores have to keep the item place in the right slot!
It does not show the food balance for the current month but it does for future month. Why is that. only 1 in 100 times it shows the food balance for current month. This is annoying. Please fix it.thanks
Always crashing. Doesn't even show my wic list. How am I suppose to know what I need to get. This app need dome serious work on. I've already had to uninstall and install each time. This is a hassle.
Use to work great but now it's constantly crashing. As soon as I click the app it crashes and closes on me. Now that paper vouchers have been phased out, we rely so much on this wic app to access and process our benefits. The developers need to be on top of this since it's so crucial to the entire WIC program and the access to it.
The app will work for awhile then erase my login info and when I put it init tells me it can't find my info. So I try to re register and it says I'm already registered. I even tried to change the password but doesn't work.
It was helpful when it worked. Now it never shows the balance & the scanning hardly works 😑 super irritating!
I like that I can view my benefits and that they update after purchasing to tell me what I have left. But I am very frustrated that I can't get the barcode scanner to work to see if something is WIC approved. It just doesn't scan. Tried on both my phone and my partner's phone and it just does nothing. Please fix this!
Downloaded this to help my daughter scan items. It sucked before with focusing issues and always logging out. Updated this morning and it doesn't work at all. Takes too long scanning items, doesn't focus (you have to practically hold it arms length away), and everything I scanned said it wasn't approved. Even with wic items at home, it said that. I don't have the time or patience to stand there waiting or go to different stores.
I did like the app that was helping me keep on check of my balance. However, recently I've been having trouble logging into my account. It gives me an error message saying, "Invalid password." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and I'm still having the same issue. For the moment I will give it a once star because I'm unable to view my balance. once this issue is solved and everything is working correctly I will change my review. Hopefully this issue is solve soon.
This way of handling WIC is so much easier, better , faster ,and way away cooler then the way WIC used 2 work ....
Hi this app wont work. It keeps turning black screen and then closes. Ive tried everything. My new wic card doesn't work right either. It would not accept wic approved bread or milk i spent 40 minutes in line at the cash register. This app and the new system does not work at all please go back to the old system. I dont know why you guys always have to change things.
This app never lets me see my current benefits once I'm logged in, it will only allow me to see my future benefits. So I always have to call the number on the back of my card to check my current benefits, which kind of sucks.
This is the worst app ever created!!! It doesn't accept your information even though it's been confirmed as correct. It took forever just to get registered and then it still kept telling me "incorrect WIC information". I have to keep trying to change my password and it doesn't accept any one that I choose. I really hate this app and this new WIC card. They should not have changed to these stupid WIC cards. And the app needs a lot of work. This is so frustrating!!! They old way was better!!!
Its a nice app. It shows you what you need, what you have, and what you have used. A lot faster rather than waiting for check to be scanned and signed. The issue with this app is that it is to slow also even if you follow guidelines, for products you need at the register it will not be scanned or/ and be applied for some reason and pay out of pocket or leave it. Things need to be updated on the wic side.I had transaction issues x3 at walmart x1 at reileys. Wic is closed because of covid-19 so...
It was working just fine, then all of a sudden I can't even open the application when I need to especially for my appointments and food balance left over. Everything I click the app it crashes and keep saying error and takes me back to my home page on my phone.
Horrible! At first it was good i was able to log in with no issue what so ever, but lately im having trouble loghing in. Iv tried to uninstall it and re-installed a few times and nothing. Its quite frustrating because i actually depend on WIC to Feed my baby because they drink formula, and the moble version of it shows that i have no balance. PLEASE FIX THESE BUGS!!!
Early in April, the app works fine and you can login but in late May till present, it simply errors out and not allow you to log in to check benefits. The developer needs to look at the database to allow us to login so we know what's going on with our WIC. Until the issue is fixed, this app is useless for me. I did like the app until it stopped working.
App has not been working for the past 3 weeks. I am not sure when will it be fixed since I keep sending comments to the app. Its 4/3/2020 my app has been deleted and reinstalled and it does not open. Its not easy not having it Today 8/7/2020 I still cannot use the app to log in and see my benefits. It's frustrating.
Used to work, but not anymore. I used to love scanning items at the store to see if they were wic approved. I just updated the app and now i just keep getting an error saying that my session is expired and then it closes down the app. This thing is no good anymore.
IF (giant if) the app allows you to log in, it's OK. I like that I can see what items are left and upcoming appointments. The stores section sucks - it doesn't list all grocers nor does it list correct information such as hours of operation.
This app still has a lot of glitches. Doesnt work half the time. The app doesn't work. I have zero issues with the other apps on my phone. This app keeps stopping and I have to force close it over and over again. Its nice to have just wished it worked
I downloaded it month ago and it worked fine. The concept was great I can see what I was able to get and how much I had left very convenient. However this is the second week I'm not even able to log in. I already uninstalled it and installed it again and no luck .
This app does not work. It keeps saying that I have invalid account number which I entered so many times. Also, when entering the DOB, it not really user friendly. You have to manually keep on tapping the back button to look for prior years.
OMG!! So frustrating!! Can't even create an account. Keeps saying invalid WIC information!!!! So annoying the way you have to enter the birthday, can't even adjust it to proper year!!!. This application needs work, we should have a button to help when your getting all these error messages!!! Very disappointing!!!!
Same experience as everyone else's reviews. It kicked me out of the app and everytime I try to reset it , it doesn't recognize the email. So frustrating and dealing with the wic office is another headache. They don't call back or help.
For the short period I used this app it was very beneficial made it easier as to always calling in to know your balance. I had no problems really, was able to scan to see what was available and what was WIC related. Sometimes when you go into a grocery they have the wic sign but is not always for wic. I should have downloaded it sooner.
