Many Android phones provide call blocking capabilities. Why is "Call Blocker" better? It has several core features that together provide strong protection against annoying calls.
BLACKLIST:You can add any unwanted numbers to the "Blacklist" from the calls log, contacts list or input the number manually. Also, by using "Begins with" option, you can block a range of numbers with certain first digits.
BLOCKING:Using the options of this tab, you can block calls from private, unknown or all numbers. Also, you can turn on/off blocking with one simple tap.
WHITELIST:If you don't want to block calls from a certain number, adding it to the "Whitelist" is sufficient. Numbers from this list will never be blocked by the app.
LOG:This app saves all blocked calls in the "Log", where you can always see who has been blocked.
Moreover, the app contains features such as notifications about blocked calls and a status bar icon, both of which can be turned off in the app settings.
You can obviously use your phone's built-in capabilities or even ignore such problem. However, if you are really tired of annoying calls, just try this app.

- How can I remove the icon in the status bar? To disable this icon, open the app's "Settings". Next select the "Notifications" section and turn off the "Status bar icon" option.

I love this app so much. I went a little extreme and used the whitelist option, but now that means that unless you're in my contacts list, your call won't come through. It has a quick-disable feature in case you're dealing with a callback number you don't have saved, and afterwards just flip it back on. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with spam callers like I have.
The developer has two call blocker apps. The worked beautifully, but then started blocking calls from my contact list. I wrote to the developer twice, and sent screen shots of my issues. I never heard back. These were great apps. If the developer gets back to me and fixes the issues, I will rate them 5 stars. Right now, they are useless for me.
I've been trying for years to block all calls from numbers that are not in contacts. I've tried dozens of apps, but they all let the call ring repeatedly before blocking it. This app is exactly what I've been looking for. Less than an hour after installation, it has blocked two spam calls without a peep, allowing me to stay on task.
YAY! my phone didn't ring for any calls other than my contacts all day yesterday. I installed this app to stop, robo calls, advertisers since I have a home based business. It work great so far. Previous reviews stated it will disconnect a call when it stops a caller and it does. It clicks, then disconnects your current call. Overall it does exactly as it should, and has different settings to choose from.
this app is fantastic, I've been using it about a month and it blocks all the calls you want blocked, it's fantastic. you can set it up to block the calls you want blocked, it automatically blocks certain calls such as private calls. I've had several call blocking apps installed, after a month or two they stopped blocking calls, it drove me nuts. This app, call blocker, works very well!
Seems to work fine, except if you are on a call, and another "blocked" call comes in, the call you are on gets disconnected. Also wish you can add a block of numbers, that start with the same prefix, i.e. 354, 684, etc, as robo calls all seem to have the same 3 first digits. So you have to block every incoming call, except contents of your contacts/directory.
Just wanted an app to block calls from anyone that is not in my contacts list.. Mr. Number used to do that well but then they locked that one simple feature behind their subscription service. So I deleted Mr. Number. This app, Call Blocker, does just what I need it to do. Simple as that. On occasion, if a lot of apps are running in the background, you may hear a quick ring or see a call pop up. But then it's gone. I'm pleased with the app overall.
Recently installed app because of the constant robocalls. I had high hopes for this because it has a free version. So far it seems to help block private numbers and calls I've added to the blacklist. A big problem I've experienced is that the app is hanging up on actual phone calls that I'm having when it detects an incoming blacklisted call. I emailed support but haven't heard back yet
This app works great! I was getting annoying scam calls several times a day. Usually early morning while I was trying to sleep. After adding the numbers to this app and adjusting the app settings to only receive calls from my contacts, I haven't been bothered since. It works great! I would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone who struggles with scam callers and telemarketers.
I don"t leave reviews often, but I had to on this one. This app has done an outstanding job on blocking so many unwanted calls just within the few days I've had it installed. I rarely get one that makes it through. When it does, you don't hear it ring which let's me continue my work through the day. It's worth the $0.99 to upgrade and remove the ads. The others are garbage...this app is a keeper!
This app is great!! I only get calls from numbers in my contact list and everybody else goes directly to voicemail....UPDATE The lastest Android update caused this app not to work anymore. It's supposed to send all calls from numbers not in my contact list straight to voice mail. It does not, all numbers ring though as if the app doesn't exist. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn't work. I emailed the support and still have not received a response. I'll soon be deleting this app
I LOVE this app. It's a real mind saving program.I am SLAMMED all day every day by bill collectors and don't want to have to change my number to stop it. Even if I did change it, those loser people can usually always find your new one which makes it a waste of time. I almost never call anyone anyway. So I use the block calls completely feature in this app. It's much better than just using "airplane mode" because with this route, you can still use your cellular data for apps,games, etc I have one request though. Could you make it to where we don't get notified AT ALL when a number is blocked? because it's still annoying having my phone vibrate notifying me when a call is blocked. I don't want to just turn off ALL notifications for the app, because you said having the icon at the top bar helps give the app priority access.
I've been using this app for 2 weeks now. I was getting more spam calls than legit calls and I'm impressed at how well it's been working. I changed my VM message so people would know to leave a message if they're not on my contact list. Update: The app is no longer blocking calls. Maybe it was just a trial period. I'm going to uninstall and try a different one.
On first install, the app was allowing robo calls through until I turned on block all calls not in my contact list. Now, occasionally a call will come through for half a second and it will get block. It will still light up your screen or pause your music briefly but it's better than nothing. I wish I didn't have to have a notification at the top that the apps running but they say to leave it enable so the app is faster to block calls.
This app has potential. Love the "starts with" feature. Two issues: 1. Unlike one of the developers other apps, the user cannot choose the block types. 2. Blocked numbers are able to leave voice mail which defeats the purpose of a call blocker. I've had this issue with two of this developers call blocking apps. This issue needs to be fixed!
Low Impact Blocker........ very low key in the background until you need it. easy to add numbers. dont ever get a second call from a blocked number, so its good. switched from another blocking app that got too involved to add a number to the blacklist. 4 clicks? 3 screens? This one is simple and fast. Ill be stivking around this app for a good while. Dont see too many ads which is great.
Since installing this application, my daily spam calls went from 20 to 0. the only real downside which will exist with any apps like this, is that you have to block all calls unless they are in your contacts. the ads are very unobtrusive but it has worked so well that I am going to upgrade to the ad-free version. it's worth giving it a try and seeing if it works for your needs like it does mine.
I installed this because of the ability to block all numbers that start with a specific series of numbers, due to spoofing calls. The first two such instances got blocked but now the calls are coming through again. I don't want to add every individual phone number like my phone settings require, and now that this feature is no longer working I guess I'll have to again.
I've been using this app for a few years now and it's the perfect solution to blocking those unwanted calls: Block all calls except those in your contacts. Any callers with anything of importance to say will leave a voicemail message. Expecting a call from a calendar from whom you don't know the number? It's easy to toggle this feature off for a bit! Otherwise, if you have visual voicemail, it'll be a cinch to weed out the unwanted stuff!
This app is exactly what I wanted. It cuts off the unwanted calls from my blacklist BEFORE my phone rings. Plus its super easy for me to add numbers to my blacklist too. I've had other apps where my phone would ring one time before it was cut off, and where I had to put in the numbers manually. Needless to say, I got rid of those apps. I wish there was a way to put the area code and the prefix of the number so any calls fitting those first 6 numbers would be blocked too. No popup ads!
Works so well I paid for the ad free version. I bet I've gone through four or five call blockers. None seemed to work. To wit, even when set to block all calls except in my contacts, I'd still get calls. Or my phone would ring several times before the app would kill the call. This app, however, blocks silently. Since I installed it and week or so ago I have not had ONE call co.e through not in my contacts list. Ah, bliss!
Simple but very effective. I've been having a hard time finding a Call Blocking app that did one simple task: block calls based off of area code. This app does it perfectly. I've been getting a ton of robo-calls from telemarketers and it's satisfying to finally get peace and quiet. The app shows you what calls were blocked along with date and time of each incident. It also doesn't force you to make an account or pay for Premium service after several days of use.
Changed my review from 5 stars to 1 because for weeks the app hasn't been working. I have had this app for a little bit and raved about it to everyone! Now, I'm not so sure. Ihave the option set to block all calls except for saved contacts and I am receiving every single call, even the ones I have entered in under the "blacklist". Please fix this and I will change my review back to 5 stars!
Had this app for about a year..Initially it worked perfectly. Numbers were blocked and their calls went directly to voicemail. However since the last update, even blacklisted numbers are not blocked. I'm very disappointed as two blacklisted numbers were able to call me successfully yesterday and just now. This prompted me to leave a review. I guess I will be uninstalling this and installing a different app. This app has run it's course. I wish I didn't update this app as it worked better before.
Simple, effortless, and stays quietly in the background. Was a little concerned about the permissions at first . But, no issues ... Best feature is being able to manually add any amount of digits to block, (not just phone # configuration) . With all the call "spoofing" I get, It's great to block all calls that start with "9" or "4"..
I love it! I was getting up to 20+ spam calls a day and now my phone barely makes a sound again. You can customize it a lot, add numbers to block or allow. I personally chose to allow all saved contacts to ring through, unknown numbers to be blocked. it's been about two weeks and so far it's worked flawlessly.
I set app up to intercept any call that is no on my list of contacts. It has done that without fail. For that i give it 5 stars. But overall, only 4 stars because it could be improved. First, the notice on screen that app is active or has blocked a call is too big. It covers the entire width of screen. Notices of blocked calls do also. Second, when calls are blocked, no alert sounds such as a ping. You have to turn phone on to see if any calls were blocked. Nov. 7- Lowered rating to 3 stars. For some reason the app quit notifying me when a call has been blocked. This has worked perfectly until now. Notification setting is correct and no changes have been made since installing it.
