I really love this app, the only thing I don't love is that I can't ever properly shut it down without forcing stop. It's kind of annoying but it just plays randomly throughout the day unless I go into the apps and force stop. It really ought to shut down when I turn the darn thing off.
I found this app accidentally, really, and I am SO grateful. I especially like classical and smooth jazz. There is no radio station I know of that I can get that plays smooth jazz and it was a thrill to discover it. I'm enjoying other kinds of music, too, at my fingertips, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you!
Ok but just random music. No adds HAHAHA except for the constant "upgrade to premium adds" Music by nobody's This is similar to a random radio station but a lot more hassle 😅😅☺️ I'm calm now because I found out how to turn it off 🤣😆🤪 Uninstall, Reality you don't need this and I certainly don't.🙉
EDIT 4/4/22 I DID NOT UPGRADE ANY SUBSCRIPTION as mentioned by Calm Radio below. Very expensive listening at $6/month when 'their' music selection is extremely limited to the worse of pre-installed sounds, not a radio nor music per say. Always pushed to upgrade to premium. Not a radio. Not a radio platform or UI
Calm radio is nice. It has a lot of really relaxing options. It also allows you to mix sounds which it a great feature. The reason I give the app only one star is it crashes constantly and often needs to be reset. We're it not for this, the app would perfect.
I find this app to be extremely useful, I have it on though out the day to block out my neighbours and it is totally worth the monthly payment, because the variety is so expanse that you can't get bored.
App won't stop when closed. The only way to stop the app is to power cycle the phone. This started after the Android 12 update. Update. Customer service reached out and suggested I re-downloaded the app ..that fixed it
Great app. Only negative is now it's asking me to pay for premium to access most of the channels. I was using whole app for free for a long time.
cool and relaxing stations. stable connection latest update: connection to the station is not choppy, even when my internet connection at home is at its fastest and most stable
The app is O K and general ly easy to use but lacks variety of sounds with many similar sounds in each section
Wonderful, especially when so much radio is so raucous and saturated with obnoxious advertisements.
You never did answer my last technical support issue or fix it!!!! I'm asking for a discount if it's going to be this type of quality service. A week after I got as subscription I noticed quite a few of the channels would pay 15 or 30 seconds of it then nothing but silence. I don't know what the issue is, but I know this is my second troubleshooting ticket and it still isn't fixed!!!
A very therapeutic app! I instantly fell in love with it and got my annual membership currently 50% off a real bargain!
I tell people about this app all the time. Personally, i think it is worth the money to avoid the ads, especially when in sleep mode. My only problem is that it goes to a different station when i reopen. the last few times, it has opened and wanted to play "Baroque", even though it closed on "Sleep". Though i like the Baroque period, it isn't even on my list of chosen favorites so i don't know why it appears. (Update: still opens to different channel but preferences & last channel are listed.)
Great selections and easy to use app, however if with the free account don't use the app for anything relaxing. Constant ads to get you to subscribe. It would be ok at the beginning of a station or song but it is throughout the song or station. You don't get a chance to see how well it works. I understand it is their app and choice to get subscribers, but just be aware.
Absolutely wonderful "radio" if not necessary in today's stressful moments. Adding nature sounds along with beautiful videos creates a calming environment, simply beautiful. Only thing I would prefer is search for specific artists/musicians. For example, if I'd like to hear music from Loreena Mckennitt, search results do not say which "channel" plays her music. Aside from that, it is very well worth the subscription. With discount codes, I subscribed for 2 years, good value for your money.
The previous version was more responsive, easier to read, and easier to use. A week of trying to navigate the new layout has been rather frustrating. There is a significant lag now when searching for stations or settings. Some stations titles have overly stylized fonts that can't be easily read. I now find myself clicking numerous times to access things that previously a few clicks would get to. Hiding stations within category folders is NOT helpful. I have no desire for the videos, and I wonder if these extras are why the app is so slow to respond. The station/song info keeps disappearing from screen to show just the background ... I REALLY wish it DID NOT do that. Finally... I think your volume bar graphic may be on backwards. (brighter bar usually to the left) Just a few friendly criticisms from someone who really does enjoy listening to Calm Radio. Cheers.
I wish I gave this a longer try in the free mode. It cuts out often and buffers more than other music apps. Id suggest google music or spotify over calm, you can create your own "calm playlists". Not a lot of variety here. I hoped there was more ambient stations. 2 are good, the others are far too upbeat to be considered ambient. I have a 2 year subscription and they do not offer refunds. If you like new age music, this will be good for you. There are some cool features, its just not for me
I absolutely love this app! It helps me when i'm stressing out and when I can't sleep. The number of options they have is astounding. The only problems are that there are way too many ads and the app keeps doing this really creepy and weird thing where music will start playing on its own randomly, even when I've left the app and my phone is off. It really freaks me out sometimes.
Excellent app, great music that is good for an office environment or for sleep. I took a star off because it needs to be force stopped when done with it. I've had it play music randomly after pausing then closing the app. It will also keep playing if you close the app without first stopping the music. Out of nowhere I will hear music from my phone, and it was the app. Other than that, I really enjoy it. Thank you for making this.
