Please give us the option to pay a little bit to remove ads! I'd do it in a heartbeat! This app is wonderful otherwise, but the ads are really irritating when you have type 1 diabetes and have to add up all the carbs in your meal before you can eat it. I already have to spend several minutes a lot of the time just doing that, and the ads make it worse.

Works great when it works. Search functionality is great. However the barcode scanner is downright broken. You have to delete letters individually in the search bar. But honestly, the worst problem is that theres no version without ads. Ads you cant skip. Nah. I'll pass for now.

This app has accurate information but does force you to watch an ad each time you try to view a new food item. There does not seem to be a way to avoid the annoying, time consuming advertisements. Nothing but a waste of my time in between the bits of useful information. Quite frustrating, in my opinion.

I really like the app, as I'm a type 1 diabetic.. a feature should be added, like a shopping cart type of thing. Say your eating a meal and would like to account for all total carbs with numerous items, it would be nice to find the food, and add it to a list that can accumulate all nutrients being eaten. Mainly for me, to have it add the carbs up and i just put one total in my insulin pump.

Some things only listed in oz, or in arbitrary amounts with weight in parentheses so you have to do more calculations. In order to get nutrition information on raw carrots, I can pick a few pre-existing carrot weights, or I can scroll down, pick "carrots" under Golden Corral (!) and suddenly I am allowed to enter grams of carrot freehand. Or ounces. Thanks, Golden Corral, but it's kind of a weird way to have to do it.

This is a great app but it could use some improvements. Like right now the app is not working AT ALL! I have a newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetic five year old so I live on this app lol! Also, if you had a "Favorites" type of thing, so you can have easy access to a list of things you kinda always eat, would be a great idea. Also if the app kepted a record for parents/people with certain medical issues that use this type of app for food that would great tooπŸ‘

I just downloaded the android version. I see within 1 minute its just a lookup version. You can enter measurements of volume and scan box barcodes also. I use the calorieking food & exercise journal booklet so this could be a good companion for that. Wish it would hold a favorite list with typical amounts used.

Love this App as I have an insulin pump which is driven by carb counting. Today is the first time I've had any issues. It's not searching. I get an error message "Failed to get categories. FoodApi Get Failed". Try Again. I've tried many times, uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same. Anyone else having issues?

So disappointed. I used this app on my iPhone and it was great because you could add your meals and track daily calories. You could also create your own serving sizes etc. Can't do that on Android. Why other having two totally different apps for different operating systems????

Constantly get "failed to search food, try again" message. I uninstalled and re-installed app many times. As a diabetic who depends on an app like this for carb counting, its very disappointing. Update 11/15/20, probkem seems to be fixed, and has been reinstalled.

It never works. Only when it wants to and that's hardly. I really wished it worked I have Uninstalled and re-installed and nada, very bumped it doesn't. As a t1d parent wish to get more help with more reliable carbohydrate count. Hope this gets fix asap. Rather use Google or other apps.

The ads are crippling to use this app! I was comparing three ingredients at Chipotle and was forced to wait for FOUR ads. To make matters worse, the ad was REPEATED 4 times. Come on, you guys can do better than this! I love the info provided but not at this cost of my time.

Ads are crippling this app, each item you check has an ad when you back out of it. I immediatly went to see if there is a premium ad-free version, which I would gladly pay for, but there isn't.

Uninstalled. Shows an ad after viewing a food, every single time. Also couldn't find a way to see all foods by the same quantity. I want to able to compare, say 100g of all products so I know which one to choose.

Compared to the apple app this is practical but not nearly as useful as the apple version where you can track your calories and weight and exercise. I'm disappointed the website is gone. I used it for about 12 years until it was removed.

The amount of ads on this app is a bit much to be honest and really ruins the experience. If the amount of ads were reduced I'd give a better rating, just easier googling CalorieKing and doing it that way. The app does work though for its intended purpose.

M.S. B. Sep 19, 2019

CalorieKing used to have one of the best websites for looking up calories in different foods. It was user friendly, and very easy to find the information you wanted. Now you can only find branded foods. Forget about looking up information for fresh fruits, vegetables, meats or seafood because it's no longer listed. The same is true in this app. They should go back to what they had, because this is worthless.

Disappointing. The Apple version of this app is much more useful to someone with insulin resistance who needs to track their daily intake of calories, carbs, and sugars. This Android version is pointless because it's nothing other apps don't do. Unoriginal.

Ka. A. Sep 29, 2021

This app use to work fine and now it's nothing but errors and ads. Ridiculous! Has it sold out to Google. Thank goodness I have a 2 year old Calorie King book - it works unlike this app. Extremely disappointed. If you have an Android phone, think twice before installing.

Lor. W. Apr 18, 2021

I love this app but sometimes it stops working because of technical issues. I am unable to count my carbs which is needed to program into my insulin pump to get the correct amount of insulin. It's a big headache because I have to estimate my calorie intake not knowing if I am correct and getting the right amount of insulin. I have to wait until the app is fixed and working again before I can start counting my carbs. I really need another app as a backup.

Spi. B. Jun 16, 2020

Would be an awesome app if you could scroll down to see/choose all the measurements. Would also like a bit option to stop the jump in your face ads. Have to stick with their website for now.

Tab. B. Feb 11, 2021

Serves it's purpose 87% of the time. It is extremely useful. Only suggestion, app differs from web. Would like to see the content and information synced.

Hut. Apr 3, 2022

Can't add searched items to a favorites list or add what you searched for to you daily usage. Adverts were way too much, could even explore without getting smashed with ads

Dan. B. Oct 19, 2020

Have been using the Australian version via the browser for years. Food searches are now failing for the web version on all my devices in all browsers, and via the app. Edit: Mon, 19 Oct. 2020 13:05:16 Food searches are now working again

Sti. S. Jun 20, 2020

Wildly inaccurate. Even comparing the app data to the web version, it is not constant between the two!! My life literally depends on accurate numbers for medication dosing. 😑 not recommended.

Con. V. Sep 29, 2021

The app stop working. Everytime me and my daughter type something it says error failed search and the app doesn't need to be updated either. It was working fine yesterday. Don't know what to do. Probably gonna have to uninstall it and find a different app that we can use πŸ‘Ž I would've gave zero stars but it wouldn't let me post

Jas. C. Sep 22, 2019

This app isn't that easy to use and is some what inconsistent when it comes to tires of measurements. The reason it's getting 1 start though is it kills my battery. It said I used it for 2 minutes and it used 11% of my battery. This is after restrictions it in every way that Android let's me.

Cry. C. May 18, 2020

Ok app. I wish it was more like the website because it gives you an idea of how much exercise you would need to do if you eat this. The app just gives you nutritional information nothing is set for a user or login. Uninstalling hoping they upgrade it.

Bec. K. Nov 10, 2020

I use this app to count carbs for my insulin pump but some things are hard to find that you eat and the barcode thing doesn't work as good and it kicks you off a lot certain foods aren't on here and I always told that they were so that's the only issue with this app

Eli. P. Sep 30, 2021

Im giving it 2 stars because the last couple of days it hasn't been working at all, whenever it did work it was a wonderful app and I would use it at least 2 to 3 times a day. It came in handy to figure the Carbohydrates for my T1D son.
