I like the simplicity of the app but I find it slow and unresponsive as when I press a button there is a delay and no indication that I have actually pressed anything. Most of the time I have press the standby button several times before it will actually come out of standby but the app thinks it's turned on. I'm also having some issue with the volume control as it says it can't be changed with the current settings, however it worked earlier without any setting change, so not sure if that's me or the app. The receiver itself it's excellent but I think the app let's it down due to poor responsiveness and integration

Correction (from1 to 3 stars): After using this app over several days it would be more than fair to speak about the positive properties also: The app is 100% stable. It is very fast and responsive. About usability: This is the weak point of this app nevertheless. But I have found some workarounds. The most important thing is to connect to a DLNA server with rich functionality. Some of the server features are mapped into the UI of this app. For example I am quite satisfied using a Plex server implemented on a raspberry 4, connected to a ssd. The missing filter features of the app can then be compensated by using several mediatheks within the plex server. That is a solution I can live with, but by far this is not the optimal solution for managing a music collection. The management of radio stations within this app is a 1-star solution: The implemented filtering is a big nonsense and nearly useless.

Extremely basic. No search functionality. When queried with the device, I was told it's available on IOS, not on Android. Unhelpful. A shame, because the hardware is outstanding, but this app really lets it down. Adopt Agile development practices guys and make it worthwhile! As it is, I only fire it up every few months to see if there's been an update... invariably, there hasn't. I appreciate the response from Cambridge and have installed Streammagic - seems better already!

Very disappointed to see that the app or the Cambridge Audio system has been downgraded by the firmware update at the end of January 2021. Now you can't connect directly to Tidal! Would love the opportunity to upgrade to the previous firmware. I have wasted my money on my Cambridge media streaming device. Very disappointing. It appears that the only way is to stream from my phone, which means it has to be within Bluetooth range all the time, so now I have to have two apps. Please address this.

This app is much better than the newer Streammagic app. You can control your music from the phone's lock screen and while in other apps by pulling down the notifications panel. Streammagic requires you to find and open the app to make changes, which is a horrible user experience. Too bad they end of lifed this one. Has a nice clean interface too

Overall it works, however like other reviewers have stated it doesn't live up to the quality of their audio product. In my case that's a CXN v2. Given the product is a streamer and sure there is an excellent dedicated remote, having an app that meets the demands of the product isn't an optional extra it really is mandatory. The UI itself is sadly dated, search function non existent, which for my large library makes scrolling very awkward, especially as album art is laggy. Cambridge can do better!

Got the app to work with my cxn in under 15 seconds. Simple and streamlined little app. Allows you to: set playlists; sort by artist, album, genre, or folders; use tidal; control playback and volume. A search function would be nice (with over 2,000 songs on my nas scrolling isn't the best way to find a song) but the app is fast enough that it isn't a deal breaker. If you have a cxn you need this app.

Quite outdated look and feel. Tidal integration worked at the beginning but now I'm not able to see my playlists (tried to logout/in, reset app cache/data but it didn't work) hence it is tedious to create playlist from scratch over and over again... On the bright side StreamMagic App seems to be working fine on this aspect. I wish I have heard about it earlier though...

Frequently cannot find device (cxn v2 that I have). Changing volume in the app sometimes do not show visuals correctly. Need to restart the app constantly to reconnect to the queue. Very low resolution album artworks are displayed for UPnP. The UI can be refined, too. Overall this app struggle to match the quality of Cambridge Audio's hardware. What a pity!

Almost every time I try to connect my Samsung tablet, it does not connect immediately, I have to keep trying several times before it connects to the CXN. I make sure the wifi is up and cxn is also switched on, but the problem persists. This was not the case when I first started using the tablet more than 2 years ago. This problem start about a month ago. I have made sure I upgrade the firmware each time the update shows up.

It would be nice to add a search option and indexing when playing from usb drive. The indexing is for when choosing the usb drive, now it takes forever to show the songs on the drive, and it does that every time. Cambridge Audio's Azur aren't cheap, so this is more like a request 😁 Hope to see this in the next update🙂 Thanks!

Ruddy awful app. Player is fantastic, but can regularly have music playing whilst the app can't find any player. UPDATE: after recent update the performance of this app has improved markedly and now deserves 4 stars. i would welcome the addition of a search feature to help find the desired music more easily.

Unfortunately the good folk at CA got the stream magic app working beautifully, then they decided to mess with it and this is the result. Not at all intuitive, you can no longer change the running order of the music queue, the only reason I use it is because it runs my hardware.

Visually not pleasing, though functional. The internet radio music genre list is horrible long listview without search functionality, so it is anusable. It would be great to integrate volume adjustment to phone/tqblet hardware volume buttons. In general app does not adhere to android design rules.Actually there is no design. It reminds me a quickly drafted test app. Spoils the overall good image for the perfect (expensive) cxn player . Spotify connect in parallel with Spot. Notif confusing..

Good app, but full of bugs and the functionality/layout differs between inputs. For example, the volume control does not correspond to the CXR-200, it seems to be the inverse. In the Tidal plugin, the Playlists display in chronological order, but the Albums display in Alphabetical order.

This app is simply getting worse for every update. I have to wait for 2-3 minutes before it finds my CXN every time I want to use the app. Then, if I want to play something from my NAS, which is wired to the same router as the CXN (also wired), I have to wait for about 10 minutes before the server is found. When the NAS finally appears on the app, I can't play anything ('unknown UDN' error). If I use the CXN directly, I can find the NAS immediately and play anything from it without any errors...

Decent ap. Could use a way to store the balance setting so don't need to reset it on each power up. And or also be able to adjust the balance setting from my phone. Remote can BUT I can't see the display to do this without being close to the unit.

After upgrade to the latest version the app does not work with Tidal favorites any more. At My Tidal I get the constant error: Problem fetching response. Please try again later. Please fix ASAP. (Player: CXN v2, App OS: Android 9 on Sony XPeria XZ1 compact). This issue makes this app completely useless for me. I have reported this issue more than a half year ago, still no fix. Useless app!

Spotify connection is horrible - just switch off so often. And music continue playing through mobile phone dinamic. I figure out that Spotify connection works stable when my mobile Android phone in WiFi network already. And only after that I can On my Minx Xi and connect to Spotify - it works stable more less now. Please fix it - it's annoying behaviour.

Simple and basic app, but unfortunately not at all reliable, and far from intuitive to use. Shame really as the sound quality from the Cambridge amplifier itself is excellent. If only the mobile app was up to the same standard as the hardware being controlled....

I recently bought the Cambridge CXN V2 and have had nothing but trouble with it. When I try to open the app I now get a message saying searching for devices. I am unable to operate spotify or tidal on the app and now open them separately. I have spent a considerable amount of money on the streamer and expected an app that worked. If I had known the app was so poor I wouldn't have bought the streamer. Based on other customers comments here, it will not improve for me anytime soon.

A basic app for streaming music from an NAS server or connected HDD onto my CXN. But, it lacks any of the refinements and functionality found on 3rd party UPNP client apps such as Bubble or Hi-Fi Cast. It sees my CXN right away and works well within its limits. It has an integrated support request form, but responses are pretty slow

Use this alongside the Streammagic app. Simple and a bit old-fashioned in comparison and lacking some features (Qobuz!). The notification bar allowing you to control the playback and providing a shortcut to the app is very useful and I hope it will be added to the Streammagic app as well. Good thing is the bar also works when running both apps simultaneously. The playback and queue features are similar and could be improved a lot (take a look at HiFi Cast as an example).
