In general, works great. Mobile deposit experience is quite smooth. The one thing keeping me from 5 stars is the inability to include a memo on bill pay checks from the app (it's a feature on the desktop site). Not having a memo defeats the purpose for me as my landlord and other recipients insist on a memo for organization...and besides, it's a basic check feature since ever. Otherwise great app.
Mobile deposit is absolutely terrible - taking pictures of the back of checks doesn't work most of the time, and I have to often spend more than an hour trying to get the app to accept a picture. My circumstances mean that I have to rely on this app - but its complete failure at this simple task has me at my wit's end. I had no problem with my previous bank's app, but ever since Cambridge Savings Bank took it over, I've had nothing but trouble with mobile deposit.
Used to work better. Doesn't work with password management (Lastpass and 1password both have problems) and bill pay defaults to the wrong account and has no way to change the default.
Mobile check deposit can be excruciating. It recognizes the endorsement maybe 20% of the time even when it is clearly visible and you cannot override this verification so you just have to keep taking a picture and hope that you're lucky. The rest of the app is fine, but check deposit is a pretty big part of a banking app.
Since the latest update, check deposit no longer works for me - the photo screen comes up but nothing happens when I try touching the screen to take a photo. This was the only reason I installed the app so it's kind of useless now. I had been using it ok in previous versions.
The check deposit function is terrible and glitch - have to repeat picture capture several times every time. The requirement to write "for mobile deposit" is completely unnecessary. It struggles to kick up the endorsement. The rest of the app has minimal utility for me.
2021-08-23 still not fixed. contacted the bank multiple times, 1st on 05-19. i can log in from their web, but not from the app. 2021-08-08, With a long password, can't log in with the mobile app. Contacted with CSB on may19 about the issue. It is still not fixed. Worse, tonight I can't even log in with the web page to pay bills. Inconsistent & unreliable login.
User friendly overall, however the mobile deposit feature doesn't work a significant portion of the time. Won't read the check, won't line up, won't acknowledge that I did endorse it. Wish the mobile deposit feature would be improved, it's the only feature I feel is lacking and it's really lacking compared to other mobile banking apps.
The mobile deposit camera is trash, better off saving the 20 mins trying to take a photo of one side and just drive to the bank, front was good after 1 picture but the back took over 12 when all it had was my signature and " For mobile deposit" only written on it, trash. As far as the rest of this app goes I've had hardly any issues.
Since the latest update, choosing "Other amount" for a bill does not do anything. Please fix this bug. Bug still not fixed as of Nov 27, 2020. Setting a specific amount for bill payment via app is unusable with this bug!!
Just like the customer service at your branches, this app is excellent. However, nothing can equal the quality of customer service, we get from your in branch staff.
The check deposit feature doesn't work well. Especially getting a photo of back of check. Retakes always required and don't know why. Other features work well.
It's kind of hard to know exactly how much money u can use when online shopping because the numbers don't seem to update frequently enough. I've had many overdraft fees because of this. Just make the app show what u can use immediately and update those numbers more frequently and please consider adding some kind of overdraft prevention measures. Paying 35 dollars for a 1 dollar overdraft is just robbery.
Worked pretty well for a long time. For a while there was an option to make a note on a transfer and I really loved that, but that went away. Now I can't even log in, every time I hit log in, the keyboard pops up on my phone. Hoping I get to use it again soon..
Your mobile deposit process has improved vastly in the last year. Very easy, fast and user friendly. Compares favorably with other banks apps. Good job!
Auto capture only works some of the time. Endorsement often not recognized. I have other bank accounts and their apps work much more reliably for deposit-by-phone.
Its a good app overall, its easy to use and works fast.
Decent experience. Check deposit is stable and effective. UI could do with some tweaks, but all in all it works well.
Maybe 30 seconds after I log in, I get a "timed out" error and the app closes. This is using Android 9. CSB tech support was no help. if I can't make deposits, this app is useless. and frankly, it makes my CSB account a real hassle as well.
Doesn't support face recognition on pixel 4 (Dec 2019). Still no support (May 2020). Still no support in November 2020. Still no support May 2021.
Generally good app for a small local bank. Biggest missing feature is biometric sign in since my password manager doesn't seem to fill in both the username and password for me.

bugs in it when entering amount
if I could give it zero I would. check deposit by photo does not work, it gets worse with every update not better. took me 30 minutes to get both sides of check scanned. Inexcusable especially in covid world where we can't go to bank
Bill pay used to be good. What used to be easy and automatic is now tedious. Less bills are available for automatic payment
It's ok. It occasionally glitches and I can't always find the details on, say, a check so I'll need to hit up a computer. But it's very handy for other things especially deposits
